13 years ago, a group of friends known as THE TEN, reigned at William McKinley High School. Some were athletes; others were top of the class. All were leaders with notable talent. Popularity came easy for them even despite their involvement in the school's glee club. The show choir expanded their group to four others, the outer ring of their clique. The Ten’s exclusivity prevented the ones they called THE OUTSIDERS from joining their inner circle, but they were friends all the same. They were students of William Schuester, their beloved teacher, who vanished October 19, 2006. And the only living souls who knew the truth about his mysterious and unsolved disappearance on that chilly, autumn night. With the unearthing of their late teacher's body this past summer, a conspiracy carried out 13 years ago comes to light. They almost got away with it. + mobile nav

THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES: DAMNING EVIDENCE
“There is further breaking news tonight in the case of formerly missing William McKinley High School teacher, William Schuester, whose untimely death was ruled a homicide in recent weeks. Inside sources at the Lima Police Department tell us that soil samples found on the body are from two different locations. One, from the outskirts of Westerville where the body was located by police, and the other from the woods on the East side of Lima.
After another thorough sweep of the crime scene in Westerville, Ohio, police have discovered splinters from a shovel mixed into the grass and dirt. Investigators are currently narrowing down the exact retailer of this particular shovel.
Lima PD, with some local volunteers, scanned the woods on foot Friday evening in search of any evidence that might answer the many questions surrounding the case. An outside source has confirmed that a small necklace with a rose pendant was found in the grass near a small clearing. They also recovered a small torn scrap of red polyester fabric, that is suspected to be a piece of a William McKinley High School Cheerios uniform, from a tangle of tree branches.
‘Our list of suspects is narrowing and the new evidence that has come to light in the last few days has been a big breakthrough in our search for answers,’ says Detective David Karofsky, lead on the Schuester case.
You’re watching WOHN. We’ll be right back.”
INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE DETAILS
Soil samples found on the body have tested positive for two separate locations - Lima and Westerville - as we know as players, the body was moved
Shovel splinters were found in Westerville that match the shovel Spencer used when he re-buried Schuester - the police will soon find that the type of shovel the splinters came from is sold at Porter Hardware in Lima
A necklace with a small rose pendant was found in Lima woods - all players will know that the necklace belonged to Marley
A torn piece of a Cheerios uniform was found in Lima woods - all players know who the former Cheerios were (Santana, Quinn, Kurt, Madison, and Kitty) - the ripped uniform is in the back of Kurt’s closet
FURTHER INFORMATION
Suspicious of the contents of the autopsy report, Hunter Clarington has recruited Finn Hudson and Santana Lopez, who are experienced in medicine and/or traumatic injuries to the body, to examine the autopsy report and the body further.
Keep an eye out for a group task! We will be posting one to the main in the next few days.
As we now have an open role for a character at peace, pull in anyone that you think might be interested in joining us! While it was a female role, we would be happy to accept a male, female, or non-binary character.

No one expected anything of him. He was the loser from Lima, Ohio and nothing more. He was the hotheaded jock who cleaned pools and boned chicks for a living. He led with his hips, not the head on his shoulders or his heart. He was a one track mind; a boy just like his father. A deadbeat to-be with a juvie record a mile long. Trouble was in his nature, as was the badassery that pumped through his veins. Anger was all he knew and blame for everyone around him. If they thought he could be nothing more, why the hell would he try and change that?
Glee club only solidified his Lima Loser label, but it also gave him the best of friends that he would’ve done anything for. Absolutely anything. There wasn’t a person in that club that didn’t matter to him, despite all the bad things he did or said. So, when the truth about a man he’d confided in finally came out, Noah Puckerman could only think one thing; revenge. Blinded by rage and only seeing red, he had no issue taking part in what he considered justice. Someone had to make him pay.
He could never amount to anything more than the loser label he’d been given his entire life. Except he did. With the motivation to get the hell out of Lima, Puck got a full ride football scholarship to the University of Georgia. For once, he was forced to take his education serious and after endless study halls and tutors, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
The degree itself is what triggered the memories of his crime. How was he supposed to honor some kind of oath when he’d done something so damn dark himself? Even a badass feels remorse, sometimes more than others.
When it came to looking for jobs, Puck was lucky enough to get hired on as a juvenile probation officer. Turns out, they wanted someone with experience in the system and with his education, he was the perfect fit. He wasn’t meant for a nine to five, but nothing about his job is routine. Desk jockey? Not a chance. He’s always roaming the streets looking to help little badass’ that reminded him of himself. It’s been six years in Atlanta and while it’s not what he imagined for himself, it was a hell of a lot better than an orange jumpsuit he would’ve been in had he not straightened the hell up.
Having to return to Lima isn’t exactly what he wanted. Sure, part of him always missed home, but with the cat out of the bag, or the man out of the grave, it’s the last place he wants to be. He’s using hard earned vacation time to return to a crime scene; what the hell is up with that? Badass or not, the guilt has poked at him for years and being back in town has done nothing for his headspace. Bring on the crown and coke; badass number one is back in town.

Ryder Ambrose Lynn is the only child born to Kent Lynn and Adrienne McMorris on a snowy and windy Christmas Eve morning 28 years ago. Kent was a caring father who did his best to provide for his wife and son, though most of his time was spent working double-shifts at the hospital as a nurse. Adrienne was a receptionist at a local hotel, taking the night shift in order to be with Ryder during the day. When he wasn’t at home with his mother or at school Ryder was with his grandparents in the neighboring town. Ryder always admired his grandfather, an ex-military man Ryder knew that his father was incredibly driven and helped to save people’s lives. So as a child he believed that his grandfather was the closest thing to a superhero.
He had always struggled in school, at first his teachers thought it was just because he lost his grandmother to cancer but when that passed his parents were quick to see that it was more than just internal distractions. They made the family decision to move North to Lima where they knew the best therapist would be — when Ryder started at McKinley he looked at it as a fresh start. It boosted his confidence and his attitude. While he continued his therapy, a dark memory from his past that he had found a way to block out had come to resurface. This memory was that of his ex-babysitter walking in on him in the shower when he was 11 years old and molested him. The memory brought dark clouds back into his sunny skies and although he was happy when he was around his friends it was at night when he settled into bed that the boy fought back tears.
As his high school years continued, Ryder felt like he was constantly on a roller coaster. At one point he’d be on top of the world, happy as could be then the next he’d be at his lowest-low, dreading whatever came next. There were moments when he’d knew exactly what was around the corner and others when he didn’t at it was like the end to a novel that he could never read. One of those moments was when, with the help of his friends, he learned of his learning disability — dyslexia. Suddenly all those moments when he struggled made sense, he was never as dumb as everyone thought he was, he just couldn’t read or write to the quality that everyone else could. Now on top of football and glee club he was also attending therapy and taking special classes and tutoring for the betterment of his school work. He was constantly busy.
Little did he know that his world would later take another turn when The Ten discovered Mr. Schuester’s dirty not-so-little secret about what he had done to their female friends. After witnessing the murder, Ryder packed up his belongings and moved back to Tennessee to be closer to his grandfather. And though growing up he was a stereotypical boy; rolling in the mud, playing football, not caring how he looked dreaming that he would one day become a war hero just like his grandfather, his path became a little different. He was still serving the public just on a much smaller scale. Ryder became a nurse, a Registered Nurse (RN) to be exact. He loves being able to work side-by-side with doctors and help get patients the treatment they deserve or need.
Being close to his grandfather was great for his mental health as well and because he hadn’t had to think about what The Ten had done, Ryder began to see the dark clouds part in his skies, opening him up to a world of brighter days. Being called back to Lima was unexpected and not something that he looked forward to having to do. Facing all those people that he had witnessed killing their teacher, Ryder knows he’s going to have to put on a brave face to show everyone that everything in his life was perfectly fine…and there’s nothing suspicious going on at all - he’s just hoping that he can keep his lips shut.

THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES: PHONE RECORDS REVEALED
“There is breaking news tonight in the case of formerly missing William McKinley High School teacher, William Schuester, whose untimely death was ruled a homicide in recent weeks. Inside sources at the Lima Police Department tell us that the phone found among the deceased’s possessions belonged to Schuester. While destroyed beyond repair, police and information technology experts from Ohio State Police Intelligence have been able to access all records remaining on the device at the time of Schuester’s death.
While we are unable to reveal the extent of the records found, incriminating phone calls, voicemails, and text messages have been documented and the list of suspects on the case is narrowing.
In related news, Detective David Karofsky has verified with our news team that Detective Hunter Clarington of the New York 120th Precinct has been recruited to join the investigation: ‘Detective Clarington comes to Lima from a revered department with experience in cases such as Schuester’s. We hope that his outside perspective and experience will bring new light to the case and I am happy to have him working alongside my unit.’ Karofsky is positive that the Lima PD is honing in on those responsible for the death of a beloved man.
Detective Clarington was unavailable for comment at this time.
You’re watching WOHN. We’ll be right back.”
INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE FOUND ON WILLIAM SCHUESTER’S PHONE
While this information is not being made public until after the investigation closes, this information will be available to Hunter, as he is working on the case.
Finn Hudson called William Schuester on the night that police suspect he was killed. The timestamp was late in the evening and didn’t last longer than a few minutes. While there is no recorded audio from the call, the timing of the conversation is suspect. (the ten will know: Finn was the one to contact Mr. Schuester and lead him out into the woods)
A saved voicemail from Quinn Fabray was found on the phone. It is clear from the audio that she was intoxicated and the contents of the message reveal that her relationship with Schuester was complex and possibly intimate. (the ten will know: Quinn was one of Schuester’s victims)
An unopened voicemail from Marley Rose reveals that she angrily threatened Schuester on the night that police suspect he was murdered. (the ten will know: Marley was one of Schuester’s victims)

THE INVESTIGATION BEINGS: POLICE INTERVIEW ONE
Below you will find the questions for the first round of interviews with Detective Karofsky. These are due to the main by SEPTEMBER 6. Please submit here. We will share these on our Kingdom Content blog on a rolling basis as we receive them.
Do you remember the last time you saw William Schuester alive?
What was the nature of your relationship with the deceased?
For New Directions members: You were a member of his glee club, correct? I know you all were close. It’s my understanding that he divulged many details about his personal life with you all. Was there anything in particular he mentioned that we should know? / For non-New Directions members: You were a member of a glee club that rivaled McKinley’s, correct? Can you explain your connection to the New Directions outside of show choir? Did they ever mention anything about their teacher that seemed out of the ordinary?
Schuester was last seen nearly thirteen years ago leaving his apartment on the evening of Friday, October 19th, 2006. Do you recall where you were on the night of his disappearance? Is there anyone who can corroborate your alibi?

The Investigation Begins
“More breaking news for you tonight in the case of formerly missing William McKinley High School teacher, William Schuester. The initial autopsy report released by forensic anthropologists from the Allen County Medical Examiner’s Office details the ‘highly fragmented’ remains of the beloved, late show choir director. According to this report, Schuester suffered not only from incised wounds likely resulting from a knife, but also a broken pelvis, femurs, and ribs, as well as a fractured sternum and skull – trauma reminiscent of victims following a hit and run.
This is a shocking development in an already muddled down case previously gone cold for more than a decade. When asked for comment, Detective David Karofsky of the Lima PD said: ‘My unit has been vigilant in the identification of key persons of interest in this case following the events of the weekend – the victim’s memorial service, the celebration of life, and graveside vigil. All relevant parties have been contacted and urged to remain in Lima for the foreseeable future as we bring them in for initial rounds of questioning. We remain committed to finding out what happened leading up to Schuester’s death and will bring his assailant to justice.’
You’re watching WOHN. We’ll be right back.”
For the players
And with that, the investigation is underway. Detective Karofsky and his team at the Lima Police Department have reached out to all 14 characters to inform each that they are considered a “person of interest” in the murder investigation of William Schuester.
On August 30, we will post the questions for the first round of interviews with Detective Karofsky. These will be due on September 6.
In the meantime, please wrap up threads and finalize headcanons regarding the In Loving Memory event and send a concise recap to the main by August 30 so we can share a summary with the group!
On another note, Marley Rose is hosting a beachy birthday party for her son this Friday and all are invited! We encourage all to attend for some more light-hearted (or not!) threads.

Hello tags! It’s been a wonderful first few weeks of our roleplay, with an active dashboard and an incredible group of players. We currently have an opening on our roster for a character that is at war with their demons. Our preference would be for a male character with an alternate face claim, but we’re not opposed to canon either! We would love to see Sam Evans, Noah Puckerman, Jake Puckerman, Mason McCarthy, or Brody Weston. We’re a tight-knit and very welcoming group and can’t wait to add someone new into our plot. There are a lot of big plot drops and prompts coming soon!
