The Lich and Sora’s Fate

I thought it was really interesting how Young Xehanort tells Sora the Heartless that he was chasing is a lich.

Here it is, in all its.. uh… glory?

Creepy cape, wand in hand…

…heart missing, yellow eyes…

Of course, the Heartless want hearts, but notice how this one pulls hearts out of its victims and then imprisons those hearts in chains? Very different from what Heartless normally do. Why is it chaining the hearts?

I decided to dig around more about liches to see what I could uncover.

Secret ending Foreshadowing

So regarding the secret ending. I wanted to do some research as it seems each Kingdom Hearts Poster Alludes to a future game, did the KH3 cover art hint at the next installment?. This has probably already been speculated but I just wanted to talk about my take on it after completing the game.

With KH1, The heart in the background alludes to Xemnas’s version of Kingdom Hearts in KH2.

KH2’s Original cover and Final mix cover allude to The Final World in KH3.

And finally, KH3’s Cover alludes to KH3’s secret ending. The tower on the cover looking exactly like Shibuya’s NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building.

And where did Sora wake up in the secret ending?

TWEWY’s Shibuya.
