Bellen-A giant fresh water ocean exists under the deserts of the world. Reachable only by the drill towers that dot the surface, the Imperial Federation uses giant hoses to suck up the water for use in the towns and cities, as well as harvest water-gel.

Bellen-Because the bellen bush thorns can create such a problem, many wear protective clothing to not breath in the barbs or get them coated on there skin.
Note-this should result in some sort of saving throw every hour or day depending on severity, with failures resulting from anything being damage to rashes.

Bellem-Not only does the intense solar rays scorch the surface to barren sand and rock, fire storms can roll across its surface at random and without warning.
These quick hot winds can blow across the deserts like a sand storm, except instead of sand it's fire
The fire is usually considered elemental and magical in nature.
note the guy taken cover in the cornor of the picture. he is taking 20d6 fire damage no save.

Bellem-The only safe travel across the surface is Blinding Flash Road. Covered by frequent storms, the thick cloud cover provides relief from the sun.
However the storms don't last forever and those seeking to use the shortcut are encouraged to rush to ensure they reach the canyons before the storms move on.

Bellem-The locals build towns made of stone along the side of canyon walls, and under rocky overhangs. Using the stone shade as a natural relief from the sun.
Bridges span the heights like alleyways, connecting one tunnel to another across the heights.
Depending on the depth of the canyon a settlement can be from a few small buildings to large cities that span the length of several channels.
