julietbeaumont:
juliet nodded at the otherâs wise words before smiling softly shaking her head graciously âwell, i believe itâs a custom more common for me as a humanâ the blonde smiled âiâm afraid i enjoy a good walk on the river more than othersâ
âMy wife would have loved to walk on the river like this if it was warmer in Nepan. Iâm sure there are others who share your proclivities.â Feet sinking into the sand was the main benefit he could see to living somewhere unbearably warm. Amir allowed himself one toe wiggle. âHonestly, itâs much nicer than I anticipated.âÂ

Raina tilted her head very so slightly, her innocent smile was an inch away from turning her into a one of those scary dolls kids like to play with so much. If he didnât trust her, he was very right to do so because she could be as lethal as she was pretty. However she would never do anything to put her husbands reign at risk, and thatâs were he got lucky. âOne can only hope, am I right? But I am sure my husband will do justice to his people.â And she would be there to make sure of it.Â
âI have every faith in him as well.â Perhaps more, with the lack of any children from their marriage. Let the lines die out peacefully and no one will be able to point fingers at Nepan for Mirviaâs downfall. No one could blame any king for bringing a kingless country into his own either. Time would tell. âThe two of you make a lovely pair. Warms the heart to see such a devoted couple in these sad times.â A slight bow of his head closed the subject for him. âIf thereâs anything you need, Nepan would be happy to aid you.âÂ

Known mage families, it would seem, multiplied like maggots in a barrel of apples. Where there was one, one was sure to find ten more. The queenâs sisters all looked harmless, but he knew that was how mages tricked a people. Appear harmless, blend in with regular people, and wait for their turn to strike. This was a celebration, however, and without a direct insult a king would be unfit to rule if he thought to offend his host.Â
So, when faced with yet another of the sisters Amir smiled his charming smile and stopped his stroll. âThe accommodations have all proven to be splendid, as one would expect of Mirvia. Do not trouble yourself on my account, Lady.â This sister at least didnât look like she was ready to rip him in two just under her surface. âAlthough if you would be kind enough to show me the gardens I would be in your debt. We have nothing of its like in Nepan.â He offered his arm for her to take, less of an invitation than his words made it sound.Â
Elodie stood with her head held high as she saw all those who came together in celebration of Mirviaâs new King and Queen. She almost couldnât believe their family had reached this point, and she was immensely proud of her sisterâs hard work and title. Now she felt the pressure was more on her and her sister to help secure marriages of their own in order to help their little sisterâs. It was exhausting to think about, but she decided instead to focus on the occasion.
She felt it was part of her duty to ensure all of the guests felt welcome and comfortable for the occasion, and as a Queenâs lady she thought it necessary to make her way around, despite it being a bit out of her comfort zone. âWelcome, I hope youâve been able to make yourself at home today.â She said to the nearest person to walk by. âPlease let me know if you need anything.â

handy dandy history of our favorite mage killing king below
(idris elba, he/him.) HERE YE, HERE YE ! ( king amir  ) of (faramound) has made their presence. the (fourty-seven) year old (human) is said to be (Amiable) and (Well-bred), but behind their back, people whisper that theyâre just (Arrogant) and (Predatory.) i wonder whatâs the truth?
Amir wasnât the firstborn. The throne wasnât in his future as far as he was concerned. That was his brotherâs destiny. Thankfully. Being the spare instead of the heir gave him the freedom to focus his studies on his pleasures. By his fifteenth birthday he had already designed a manor and oversaw its construction. His sixteenth saw him escorting all of the eligible ladies around the glass gardens (that he designed, of course).
His brother was always supposed to be king next. His brother and father werenât supposed to fall to a plague. Everyone he cared about wasnât supposed to be taken away from him, but the crown came to him at seventeen after a sickness raced through the court. The puss-filled boils had Amir and half the country convinced it was the work of a mage. What else could cause such horrible devastation on an entire people? A witch hunt overshadowed his coronation, but his people would be safe under his rule. No vanity would ever come before his country.
Nothing was ever denied to him, not before nor after he became king. If he wanted something he took it; simple as that. It worked well with women, but the one he wanted didnât allow herself to just be taken. She was everything heâd ever dreamed of, everything that his queen should be, and she told him âno.â Eventually she said yes, and their wedding celebrations lasted a week. Nothing heâd ever done was half so challenging as wooing her, and nothing before had moved him to change the way she did. Even now, so many years without her, he rules the way he does because of her.
His daughters are the light of his life. Not once was he disappointed when the midwife handed him a girl. They were perfect, they came from the love of his life, and he would do anything for them.
His advisors are currently pestering him to marry again to produce a son as his daughters cannot rule after him.

Amir had been looking for the princess. Once, years ago she had been his daughterâs closest friend and almost a daughter to him. Itâd been too long and heâd been too caught up in affairs of state to ask after the girl in the past years. Even though sheâd grown into a beautiful woman he could still pick her out of a crowd by the set of her shoulders. âThey always are, Iâve found. What are they doing now?â If she wasnât bothering with a greeting he wouldnât either. Instead he moved to stand next to her, eyes moving down to see what she was watching. A dancer clad in what he could only assume passed as clothes in a brothel had his brows raising near to the top of his forehead. âI hardly think thatâs an appropriate display for a princess to witness. Or anyone outside a pleasure house.âÂ

She watched through her opera glasses, from one of the palaceâs many balconies, as an alluring exotic dancer (probably a foreigner) entertained the people below. Dark hair cascading onto her waist, red delicate fabrics and hip scarves accompanying the womanâs hypnotic and sensual movements. Myrabeth looked rather pleased, not bothering herself with the apphroach of others. âCommoners are rather⌠creative⌠with their entertainment, donât you think?â

julietbeaumont:
juliet was surprised by his actions but the princess had grown used to hide some of her emotions from others âthank you, your majestyâ the blonde added genuinely âhe was a good man indeed, and a good leader, i was very close to him but iâm sure my grieve will eventually passâ
âIt never does.â The princess reminded him of his youngest, and he couldnât help but feel a fatherly need to prepare her for a life sheâd never thought of. âHowever, it is because the grief stays that our loved ones stay with us as well. Itâs a double edged sword. Now, is it a custom for princesses to walk barefoot in the rivers here or just your custom?âÂ

Raina could feel her skin crawl under the voice of the man she couldnât possibly hate more if she tried, and she was almost positive he repulsed him just as much for being a mage and proud of it. It wasnât a deliberate hate, no, neither had chosen to been on either side of the conflict, but they were. However she didnât intended to showcase her emotions, the last thing she needed was to unvail a war during Alistairâs and her coronation. For now, latter she would see. âKing Faramound.â She called his name with a sweet tone, gentleness in her voice, and it never faltered. The new queen bowed her head in respect, not that she held any for him but she had to keep up with the appearances. âMagnificent advice, I shouldâve thought of it myself, but with all the events my mind isnât quite the same.â She commented. âI hope your travel here wasnât to exhausting.âÂ
He dismissed the idea with a lazy wave of his hand. âHush. You had much more important things to focus on. It was a year before I realized it was an option.â Suspicion pricked at the corner of his eyes, not allowing himself to forget her familyâs history in the face of her loss. He hadnât been king for nearly two decades by not harboring suspicions, after all. Confident in his safety, for now, he returned to the calm fatherly king. âThey were uneventful. It is a lovely ride this time of year though. Mirvia is flourishing. I am certain itâs a sign of a prosperous reign.âÂ

âPerhaps he does. Or perhaps heâs a man who just had one too many to drink.â Her shoulders raise into the slightest of shrugs, as she glances over at him. âYouâre quite wise then, betting can be a dangerous game.â Milenaâs eyes land on the silver ring, a smirk soon tugging at the corners of the young queenâs lips. âIâm not usually one to brag, but Iâm quite handy when it comes to weapons. Iâm sure I could best your daughter, or at the very least come close to it.â She was never a humble person, and she never tried to be. She was proud and vain, and liked to think very highly of herself. Deciding to take the king up on his offer, she stepped forward to the man, grabbing the nearby bow and arrow.
Good. He could use some entertainment, and perhaps his wandering daughter will hear the call for a contest and find her way to them. âI wouldnât expect any less from the Dragon Queen.â Amir stood back observing her form, instantly sizing her up to his daughter. Perhaps, he thought, perhaps a friendly competition would be to his advantage. Even if Mia lost, a statement to their strength would be made. âShow us all your skill with a bow and if itâs impressive enough, why not host a tourney? I would suggest one now, while weâre all here, but I wouldnât want to draw attention from Alistairâs coronation.â

âI should hope so! I doubt the late king would wish for the entire court to follow him into death. Thatâs an old, barbaric practice.â It was always a pleasure to see Highlandâs queen, and this time was no different. He smiled, offering her a shallow bow. âThe welcoming of a new king is always bittersweet. Itâs much nicer to focus on the sweet part, donât you think?â Even if was a pain to travel to Mirvia, they should enjoy themselves. Grabbing two goblets from a passing servantâs try, he held one out to her. âTo our continued good health.â

It was amusing watching men fluff themselves like peacocks, chests puffed out and eyes darkened with silent competition. The gathering of kingdoms under any normal circumstance was a peculiar affair, but a coronation was something else entirely. One might aswell say âmy horse is bigger than your horseâ, for all the subtleties that they had when meeting one another. She had arrived in a jovial mood, there was an old-age grace about Mirvia that she rather liked. Even if the gardens in Highland were far superior, but she was polite enough to not comment on it. She took a turn around the room, observing others, but not without recognition, as Serena could never blend in with a crowd. Folding her lips together after being noticed, the rose queen smiled gently at the individual, âThe court is alive with excitement for this auspicious occasion.âÂ

julietbeaumont:
juliet bowed gently to the king of nepan, feeling the water around her almost tense up, as if even nature knew nepanâs history â your royal majesty, i apologize for not being present to welcome you to the castle â she admitted with a soft smile â i was reading to my mother and the time got lost in me â the blonde added.
âThere is never a need to apologize for tending to oneâs family, princess.â His daughters would do the same for him, he hoped. Kneeling down he removed his own shoes and stockings in a show of good faith. Stepping into the water he was pleased to find it cooler than expected. âYour care for them is a balm Iâm certain. Your father was a good man; itâs no surprise he raised a good daughter.âÂ

as the king of nepan approached him, alistair bowed his head in respect. âyour majesty, always a pleasure.â growing up, he remembered the stories his father would tell him of nepan. he knew of the executions, the vendetta against magic users, the alleged corruption and favoritism. heâd be lying if he said he wasnât intimidated by the man and the power he held, but he tried his best to stand his ground anyway, hoping that the inner anxiety would not shine through. âthank you, i very much appreciate your kind words in this time of grief, itâs been hard on us all, but i am certain that mirvia will persevere. how were your travels?â
âMirvia is strong I should not worry about that.â Amir smiled. Tension eased out of his shoulders with the reversal of power. Outside the hall the playing ground was much more in his favor, and that was how it should be. This new, untested king should not sit higher than him, not when he and his father allow the mages free reign. Theyâll destroy every kingdom if left unchecked. How could they not realize it? Pushing the thought from his mind he clapped the boyâs shoulder. Friendly. They were friends as kings should be to the outside world at least. âOur travels were uneventful, thankfully. Youâve had no travels and yet you look fresh off a monthâs journey. Impossible though it seems, the world will keep spinning if you take a moment for yourself. Donât make the same mistake many of us made when we first came to our crowns. Let yourself rest once and a while.âÂ

Amir chuckled at the passing remark. âYou would think so, and yet they still fall easily.â The wine was a welcome sight; nodding his head in thanks the king sipped with a grim smile. âPierce them and theyâll bleed out like any other animal.â Immortality, now that was a tricky one. Diplomatic relations were a turn around a garden in comparison to the debates heâd read on immortality. âNow, are we purposefully trying to anger our hosts or are we just letting our tongues loose thanks to the wine?âÂ

curious people, the king thought, as he glanced about â a sun-lit smile and piercing blue eyes radiating throughout the room ( aimed to capture the attention of anyone who DARED to passed by ). âmmâŚyou would have thought the mages would know how to use magic to make themselves immortal by now,â percy paused, his head tilting ever so slightly as a smirk grew across his features. âpity.â his words were meant to be taken as sarcasm, but percy was in fact quite fascinated by the POWER of magic. perhaps he would have even clawed and bled for a taste of immortality. reaching for two golden goblets, the king then turned to his right and extended a gold adorned arm to offer the wine. âhave a drink with me ?â

Mirvia always set his nerves on edge. Carrying on as they did with the mages it was a wonder the kingdom has lasted as long as it had. Danger lurked around every corner when he couldnât guarantee a hall free of the vermin. Then there were the rumors of the royal family... The new queenâs family mixing in would have made everything worse if she would have given her husband a child. At least they wonât be multiplying, he consoled himself with the thought. With nothing proven, not yet, it was his duty to remain genteel. âWe are honored to be your guests. Nepan mourns and celebrates with you, Highness.â He bowed his head before leaning closer. âI found it helpful to come up with three different greetings when I first came to my crown. It helps keep our voice fresh at these large gatherings.â

Raina was blooming, burning others would say, but she was exited nonetheless. Of course mostly because by the end of that week she would queen, officially queen. Not that red queen nonsense she secretly loved so much, she would be queen of Mirvia. But there she was standing in all the splendor of her youth, her red dress always standing her out from the rest. A polite smile on her face as she observed the castle filled with company and guest, how she loved a good festivity. âWelcome to Mirvia, its a pleasure and honor to have you here.â She kept repeating, the sentence was beginning to lose meaning.

Fresh air, even thick air like Mirviaâs was a blessing after the stiff formalities of foreign courts. The king made his way outside soon after helloâs were said. He hadnât expected to stumble upon what looked to be a private moment of girlishness. The corner of his eyes crinkled. If the river was warmer he would have found his late wife barefoot more often than not he thought. âA thousand pardons, Highness. I thought to enjoy the air and some quiet, but it seems I was not the only one searching for those.â

ever since her father, the king of mirvia, passed away, part of julietâs usual cheerful light had faded away. she was still grieving his death and that event added to her motherâs poor health the female felt a bit hopeless. thankfully, the blonde found that a stroll next to the river would calm her nerves at an incredibly fast speed. she enjoyed being around water, even if she wasnât practicing her magic. the princess removed her shoes walking next to the river barefoot so she could feel the water as she gave a step into the river. however, a branch cracked somewhere behind her making her jump and look at the other â iâve heard itâs impolite to appear with no announcement â
