Question: why wasn’t Kieran in your rdr2 post? I know that some don’t really consider him to be a part of the gang since just around when they started really warming up to him he got killed and he never went on a big heist or had any missions other than the fishing one. Just curious
My inspiration for the post came from the gang photo, I knew Kieran eventually did get the gang to warm up to him but he didn't necessarily have the same history that the other members had with each other. You could say the same about sadie but she was actually considered to be part of the gang unlike Kieran who was more like a forced conscript.

Of all the horrible things I've seen in my life, the one image that will forever haunt my mind is the sight of raccoon city getting hit by a missile barrage. I wasn't in the city long that night but the hours that past me by felt like years, seeing innocent people die by the hands of monsters created by umbrella, having to gun down my co-workers in the police department, dealing with the B.O.W.s, having to kill William Birkin, but watching that explosion and hearing the broadcast that followed..... clicked something in me. I vowed never again to let a tragedy like this happen again, so when the government offered me a position to become a special agent to fight against B.O.W.s I couldn't refuse.
Every few years I stop by the memorial that the government placed not to far from the crater of the city, its atop a hill overlooking the ruins, made from obsidian its honors the victims that were killed in the chaos of that tragedy. I'm not the only one who stops here though obviously, the occasional tourist stops by and some survivors from the city who managed to escape in time come here to pay their respects too, but also some friends of mine who helped bring down umbrella like Claire, her brother Chris and his friend Jill along with their colleagues Barry and Rebecca. Sherry sometimes stops here too but shes always a wreck if we stay here too long, can't say I blame her, watching her father transform into a monster and to watch him die as an abomination would do that to a person. Chris had brought a photo of his S.T.A.R.S. team from when he was a member to leave here on the memorial so people would know the sacrifices they made to protect people.
I'll never forget this city and the horrors that were wrought upon it, the missiles the struck the city destroying all the B.O.W.s and whatever survivors were left inside, they way the cloud formed almost made it looked like a nuke dropped on the city. But the other thing that sticks in my mind just as vividly as the explosion was the news broadcast I heard play that was covering what was going on in the city and why I will never stop fighting against bio-terrorists and the monsters they unleash.
"And now we have a rather unfortunate turn of events. It seems that the President and the Federal Council have passed judgement over the civilians of Raccoon City. The President and Federal Council have ruled that the Bacillus Terminate operation... is the best course of action for this extreme situation and have since... executed it. Based on that fact, Raccoon City has been literally wiped off the map. Current reports have the death toll surpassing the 100,000 mark. Our hearts go out to those poor civilians... of Raccoon City."

Quick question, what’s with your red dead redemption post that says “I know you” after each characters name?
It's just a checky reference to the "I know you" mission in rdr1. Like you can interpret it to be from the perspective of the man in black or whatever honestly. I wrote it after beating rdr2 after gaining somewhat of an understanding of the gangs backgrounds and motivations, pretty much saying goodbye in a way by saying "I know you".

So something I'm not sure if some people noticed or not, but during the first 2 maybe 3 acts I think in the camps, dutch will be playing music on his gramophone. One song that comes on is called "Pie Jesu" a requiem, and for some that don't know what that is or have heard of it but never bothered to look it up, it's pretty much a song played for the dead or a gathering for the dead(at least I think). One of the last lyrics in the song is "give them ever lasting rest". Cheeky ain't it?

So I have a little theory for a potential dlc if rockstar decides to do one, I have the feeling that they won't but it doesn't hurt to speculate.
So idea 1 is obviously undead nightmare 2 but set during the events while the gang is still together maybe? Maybe while most members are alive or maybe after a few are dead.
Idea 2 though seems likely to be the actual outcome though
Its pretty much john getting picked up by the Pinkertons and going on his hunt for the first time for his former family.... starting with charles and sadie. Why them? Well they are aware that they're in the gang because charles is mentioned by name in one of the newspapers in game, and I'm pretty sure they might know about sadie sense they've seen her fight a few times. It just makes sense but also it would make a bit of sense for john to go somewhere far from home for a bit sense in the beginning of red dead 1 he gets off of a train into Blackwater and he lives relatively close by so I dont see why he would get on a train from wherever he was to get to Blackwater and then to fort Mercer.
Food for thought, feels all around if it goes down

The Dutch van der linde gang
They were outcasts fighting for a dream that never truely seemed possible for them to have.
Dutch van der linde wanted to live independently without government interference, but as the years came and gone he slowly realized he was fighting a losing battle. Was he ever truly the man he claimed to be? Or was it all just to much to bear in the end? You fought to the last breath because inaction to you was unthinkable.
I know you Dutch van der linde
Hosea Mathews met dutch and arthur morgan sometime around 1878 and became the best of friends. You gave him council when he needed it, but the one thing he would not heed was the possibly of an end that ends in total bloodshed. In the end it was not your illness that killed you but your inability to fold with the losing hand that was the van der linde gang.
I know you Hosea Mathews.
Arthur Morgan
Your life like so many others among you was never destined to be easy. You never thought yourself to be a good man, but in the end you were. You gave up your life for a group of misfits and killers, but to you they were they only family you ever knew. You wished you could have been a father to your son but the opportunity was stolen away from you. You wished you could have been a husband to your beloved mary but you knew that with the life you lived, it would have never worked out. You loved Dutch like a father and in the end I think he knew that. You are a good man.
I know you Arthur Morgan.
Lenny Summers at the age of only 15 you killed the men who murdered your father in cold blood. On the run you eventually found a family within the dutch van der linde gang. Men and women who for the most part saw past the color of your skin during a time when your people were still looked down upon and seen as less than human. You gave up your life at such an early age to chase a dream to not just give yourself a better life, but to give the people you loved a shot at a better life. You died at only the age of 19. Even though your death was sudden... I hope you found peace in your death with the hope that even though your story ended, that your friends found that small piece of heaven to call their own.
I know you Lenny Summers.
Marian "Bill" Williamson, you were given a dishonorable discharge from the army for attempted murder and deviancy, living a hard life for a few years. So much rage and insecurity burns inside your heart that it tends to drive everyone away. But when you met the van der linde gang they accepted you for who you were, but I dont think you ever truely accepted them. You've done so many horrible things bill that I dont think I can call you a good man, not truely at least... but at the same time I had wished that seeing all the light and warmth around you had softened your heart, to make you at least into a man others can proudly say "he may be a rage filled numbskull, but hes my brother and I'll always have his back".
I know you Bill Williamson.
Sean McGuire, fiery and lively Irishman with the blood of rebels within you. You joined the van der linde gang to seek glory and to be a revolutionary, to drink with friends and loved ones and to find a party at the end of the road that would never end. Your end came at the hands of fools who couldn't let go of their hatreds. I hope that you find a bottle that never seems to end and a woman that always feels warm to the touch in the afterlife.
I know you Sean McGuire.
Micah Bell, you were an impulsive and violent man who's first priority was always about your own survival. You betrayed those who gave you a home and a family because you knew where they were headed. I wonder if you ever truely cared about them, for even if they never truly showed it, to them you were their brother.
I know you Micah Bell.
Javier Escuella, a revolutionary at heart and loyal to a fault. Coming to this country was something you did out of survival rather than to find opportunity or glory, exploring the country you found and saw many things, one of them being the van der linde gang. Dutch had all the qualities you looked for in a leader with beliefs you shared, you saw a perfect fit. You were one of the few people who could lighten up the mood during a tense time and liven up a party with the music you played. I know the end of the gang hit you harder than most, and I also believed that if you didnt try to run from John at the end, he might have let you go, you weren't just his friend, you were his brother, his family. He loved you just as the rest loved you, the revolutionary who had a heart of gold.
I know you Javier Escuella.
Charles Smith, you came into this world from a union not many would think possible, you adapted to it after your mother was taken from you and your father died. You closed yourself off from most people untill you met the van der linde gang, they showed you so many things in the short time you were together, showing you the good and evils that lay within men and women, the acts of cruelty that they can commit but also the acts of honor and sacrifice to protect others. Arthur morgan, sadie Adler and john marston were the best people you knew in the gang, and wherever you are now, I hope that you live a full life and find that family you are searching for.
I know you Charles Smith.
Sadie Adler, your husband was taken from you and your honor was stolen from you by evil men. You became a spirit after that, recovering but never able to move past it. You found a calling in the van der linde gang and as much as you say you wish to die, I hope you don't. I do hope you find the real peace your looking for in your travels mrs.adler. I know john ,Charles and arthur wish the same.
I know you Sadie Adler.
John Marston, the story of redemption that you wish for yourself to wash away the sins of your past is full of death and hardship, of fools and dreamers, of idealists and criminals. You didn't know what kind of man you wanted to be John, if you were a good or evil man based on your actions, but the one type of man I know you wanted to be at the end was a loving father and husband to your family. To live in peace and grow old, to make something of yourself. But I also know deep inside that you felt that wasn't who you were ment to be, the restlessness growing in your heart and soul, to justifie your craving for action. But after losing your family, you tried so hard to become the man that they deserved after getting them back. So many people used you john, but you never wavered from what needed to be done. Cutting down former brothers in arms to protect your family and finally giving your life for them.
What do I know about you john? Well, I know you from Mexico, and I know you from back out West. I know you from all over. I know in the end that your death is not in vain john, that it wasn't all for nothing, your son doesn't become the lawyer he always spoke about, but you, he becomes you and avenges your death. To give you redemption.
I know you John Marston.
I know you.
"Blessed are the peacemakers"

The insanity that is fallout
y’know sometimes I really think about how Fallout New Vegas was an actual game that happened
like, this was a game in a series that’s about a post-apocalyptic wasteland with a 50′s esque setting. The main character is usually from a vault or has a connection to a vault and has some goal that mostly involved saving someone, you tend to run around a shithole filled with mutated abominations and bloodthirsty raiders
and then you get this game that just
like Fallout New Vegas was a game that included:
mass murdering roman legionary cosplayers
post apocalyptic cowboys and cowboy robots
a dominatrix zombie
a sexbot called ‘Fisto’ that you can test-fuck
an entire clan of Elvis impersonators
Chandler from Friends
fucking giant killer wasps twice the size of a person
a bunch of Genghis Khan cosplayers
old ladies that try to mug you with rolling pins
a casino that’s secretly a bunch of cannibals
And the main character, well
Fallout 1: Your from a Vault and you have to find a water chip to save your vault. Fallout 2: you’re from a tribe descended from a vault and you have to find a GECK to save you village. Fallout 3: your from a vault and you have to find your dad and save the wasteland.
Fallout New Vegas: You’re a fucking mailman from christ knows where and you have to find the asshole who shot you and then fuck up the mojave two ways from sunday.
I dunno I just think this game was a wondrous masterpiece
