You were frantically tearing apart your closet, trying to find the perfect dress. Although the bright, eye-catching colors were beautiful when you bought them, they didn't fit the most important event you have ever been invited to.

A party.

Not just any party- one held in Usopp’s home village for your friend Kaya. She closed a deal for a merge in the shipwright company she ran and is celebrating the success by inviting everyone to her mansion.

That’s why you were here, throwing every dress you could lay your hands on to the ground. You were spiraling, your fingers running through your hair and pulling at the ends as you tried to find what would be perfect for the event.

As you were stewing in the feeling of not finding the dress to make the best impression, you didn't hear footsteps approaching you, his usual scent of lemon and the deep-seated smell of cigarette smoke that brought you comfort most days not even registering in your brain, and he noticed.

“Lovely- what seems to be the problem? Your clothes are strewn everywhere and you look like you're on the edge of crying..”

You looked up at him, startled. You were so deep in your self loathing that you hardly noticed. You straightened up your posture, patting down your hair as you cleared your throat, making yourself look like you werent hoping the ground will swallow you whole. It wasn't how you wanted him to see you- vulnerable and frustrated at something so silly in the end.

“I just.. feel like nothing I wear would look good enough- I don't have anything to wear to the party because nothing works-“

Sanji cut you off by walking to you, a chuckle on his lips. You frowned, wondering how he could mock you at a time like this when he picked up the dark red cloth that was draped haphazardly across the bedding, instead placing it over his arm and walking to you with a gentle grin. He reached out and pushed your hair from your face, and you sucked in a deep breath. Breathing in his scent, your shoulders relaxed, melting into the sweet show of affection.

“My dear- you look beautiful in anything you wear. You would steal the breaths of everyone who’s eye you catch. I dont think anyone could resist staring at such a lovely rose.”

His voice held a genuine soft tone to it, and if you weren’t flustered before, the feel of his hand gently cradling yours and brushing his lips on it surely did. It was so easy for him to turn your brain to mush, just a single sweet nickname and his fingers brushing back your hair or even brushing against yours had the electric feeling buzzing through your system. Gently taking the red dress from his hands, your shy giggle was the only sound you hear over your quick beating heart in the silent room, but it never lasts long when you’re on the Going Merry. A crash followed by several yells and a splash had Sanji grumbling, stomping off to see what happened.

Never a dull moment on these waters, huh?

You pulled on the dress, the dark red garment reaching past your ankles and was made of a silken material. The slit up the side of the dress stopped at your mid thigh and as the fabric pulled around your feet, you finally looked at yourself for the first time in it since you bought it.

You felt beautiful. Maybe Sanji was right.

The party was beautiful, everyone having the time of their life as they danced and mingled amongst the crowd. It was fun meeting all of the people that knew of Usopp, laughing at funny stories and being pulled into conversations, but you were getting a little overwhelmed. As you stepped outside of the household, you were met with Sanji, smoking outside as he looked out at the garden.

Joining him, you bathed in the quiet moment, knowing that soon you will be back on the ship on another adventure. As you took in the air around you, you couldn't help but have your eyes wonder to the male beside you. His hair slightly dancing in the wind, his suit impeccable as always. His features, hidden by his bangs usually, seemed sharper.

“You look beautiful..” He said quietly, gently breaking the silence between you two. You flushed at the compliment, looking down shyly. “Thank you…a handsome young man said I would look great in this..and I think he might be right.” You teased, your small smile growing at the flustered laugh that left him.

“Though…I can’t say I don’t regret it if not a little. You are beautiful..and I would be remiss if I didn’t say I don’t like to share.”

You looked at him, confused at the sudden statement. What was he saying right now? “What do you mean..?”

Sanji looked at you, a gentleness in his eyes as he regarded you. You felt your skin heat up at his stare, looking away in hopes to be able to make a single comprehensive thought about what he was saying.

It was no secret to the crew you have feelings for the blond man in front of you, you were quite obvious, and though you tried to hide it, it came out in moments of peace you feel with him. Whether it’s while he is cooking breakfast at 5 am or during downtime when you were shopping for supplies. You grew to fall for him in these moments more because of the domestic feelings it brought out in your heart.

The male took a step to you, hand reaching out to lift your chin so he could meet your eyes.

“I am saying that..I might be a little selfish..but I want to go after what I want. I am in love with you. Would you..do me the honors of letting me be your boyfriend?”

Your breath caught in your throat, eyes shining as you looked for some kind of hint at a joke or anything. Finding he was serious, you smiled brightly.

“Yes- yes, Sanji…you dont know how long I have been hoping to hear you say that…” You then reached up and, without a second thought, placed a sweet peck to his lips.

It was silent between the two of you, the man’s brain short-circuting until he felt his face turn red and his hand went to his nose to hide the blood dripping from it. You, on the other hand, were shocked you did it, but you were happy you did.

“Come…lets clean you up and go join in the party..I’m sure everyone would be delighted with the news.”

As Sanji nodded, you can’t help but feel happy, and as you walked into the party, you laughed. At least you had a fun story to tell.

wait wait wait you are saying something I spent 2 years STRAIGHT reading non-stop.

Nightowl would be the WORST because he stays up all night, but if you do? He is the BEST and listen I LOVE him so much- but because you two would be up all night, there is no accountability so looks like the morning and night shifts will have to be given out between you two.

Quest would be up there as the best along with Nakedtoaster. Quest would help with chores, would be very sweet and is very impartial so you know he speaks for everyone and not just the Individual. He is the best also because he would be deeply understanding and I think if you needed space, he would be very quiet to not disturb you.

Nakedtoaster is also great because he is also just to himself so you never have to really worry. He keeps to himself, likes to be alone, so you wont have to worry about loud roommates and the only thing you would even remotely argue with them about is 'STOP SIGNING ME UP FOR FINAL FANTASY' but in all honesty...you play it because your bored and he knows he won.

XYX oh boy- I feel like he can go either way. Either he is the biggest fucking pain or he is the absolute best. If he was a pain it IS in fact because he is using that damn SOUNDBOARD all the time and coming home injured often. You have to patch him up all the time- but if he is the best, then its because he is actually really funny. He is easy to get along with despite being hard to get close to and he makes hard days you have not as bad.
