Sooo, I'm really having a hard time here and any advice would be totally welcome.. I CAN'T MOVE OBJECTS FREELY WHEN HOLDING DOWN ALT 😭😭😭 I've tried everything I can think of. My camera is on Sims 3, I've tried both Alt buttons to make sure one wasn't broken, MOO cheat is on and I've checked to make sure my keyboard is set to US English 😢 Help me please!

When I say this describes my day to perfection today!!! I was at the library minding my own business when the librarian (an older white woman) walked over and aid, “Your hair is gorgeous, may I touch it?“ before I could respond she had a twist in her hand asking loudly if it’s extensions or my own >.< I politely took my twist out her hand and told her to never do that to anyone again.. and by the way its rude to ask if its extensions. Sad thing is she looked at me like I had done something wrong. SMDH

Black Lives Matter

I usually try to keep things 99% Sims-related content on here, however I cannot stay silent on the constant State sanctioned violence on Black bodies. Behind the screen and the game, I’m a Black woman. I project parts of my lived experience into my Sims, and that part includes experiences of systemic racism. My heart and soul is heavy at the continuous, unnecessary loss of life at the hands of those meant to “serve and protect.” I’m tired of the carelessness that takes Black lives, because we can not get them back. These Black men, women and children whose Black bodies are seen as less than human or as super humans. Whose humanity is always questioned, whose background and criminal records are thrust into the media spotlight even though it had no barren on the murder that took place. We suffer because our skin is criminalized. I worry about my younger brothers, nephews and cousins. I worry about my Black male friends. We shouldn’t have to riddled with anxiety and fear of losing our children to Police actions because the Institution that is Law Enforcement is steeped in White Supremacy and can only see us as criminal. It doesn’t matter how many degrees I or any other Black person holds, they will still see us as less than. But we are more.

So while hunting for new skintones I got mad as hell because we all know there are not enough flattering brown tones out there. So I decided to look at tutorials and bam!…I made some skintones. 18 to be exact. They are non default skintones that can be found under the skin tones tab and not the skin details. I was playing around this week and decided to also create makeup for them. I hope you enjoy. Being that this is my first time & I don’t know how to make jack shit, I did makeup recolors. Some of the makeup is not gonna look perfect, just mess around with different powders/blushes and different skin tones. I will be doing a video this week to showcase the skintones as well as what other makeup pieces go really well on these skins. I can’t wait! Any questions, comments, complaints, hit my inbox. so of course the creator’s friends with simblrs are all upset about their friend being called ‘racist’ (I didn’t see the nazi comment but that def isn’t okay to call someone a nazi) and saying the shirt is from some Japanese company and the original is of a penguin. well, if it was a penguin she could have easily included the entire penguin on the shirt, cus frankly it doesn’t look like a penguin (do penguins have red ‘lips’?) at all to me even with knowing that was what it was “modeled” after. and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the shirt would be seen as racist or a depiction of blackface/minstrel show makeup because it looks EXACTLY like that. they (the friends) are negating the fact that the uproar was over it looking like blackface/an extremely racially insensitive stereotyping of black persons.. not that damn character from Dragonball Z (mr. popo) who is a product of racial stereotyping and depiction as well (surprise there). 

I’m sorry their friend got called rude names or whatever but racist idealisms, whether intentional or not should not be taken lightly. The shirt looks entirely too close like the makeup yt’s put on during minstrel shows to depict blacks as dim-witted and being incapable of anything other than eating watermelon and saying “yes’m”. That’s the reality of it but of course instead of understanding the context fully of the situation, most will ignore. the claiming of there being “drama” and yet again the black simblr community will more than likely be painted as the villains/people who are always starting things without “research” or without “manners”. 

edit: but anti-blackness is an issue that has gone on and still goes on in asian communities including Japan and there’s A LOT of evidence to back that up, but anything to defend a friend when the black simmers start to get riled up of course <3
