the fact that he had gotten better at reading lips over the years was NOT helping him at the moment. couldn't the spark plug take a damn HINT ? bakugou simply offered a scowl in the others direction & promptly turned his body away. hearing aids turned down low. out of sight, out of mind.

"well, i'm sure as hell not gonna ask anyone ELSE for help." katsuki could feel his anger begin to boil like a hot kettle that was left on the stove for too long. he didn't like to be pitied -- not by his friends, not by teachers. not by anybody. as well intentioned as aizawa had meant to be, bakugou could only take the kindness being offered to him as a sign that he had shown some time of weakness. he wasn't about to lick his wounds & hide away.

what was aizawa even on about, anyway ? they had all faced their fair share of hardships & grueling battles & all had their own shit to deal with. bakugou was FINE. any evidence to the contrary was bullshit.

"i'unno what you THINK you know, but there's nothin' to handle. what, did deku try to feed you some sob story ? everything's FINE. you can leave me alone now."
