These are more focused on the background stuff rather than the usual "what would the character do in XY situation" kinds of asks. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while and in the end decided to make my own. Feel free to use, go wild, enjoy

What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)

What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?

How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?

Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?

Hiii 👋 I'm not an expert on Spidey by any stretch of the imagination but I can give a handful of main players in the more standard iterations!!

Harry Osborne - son of Norman Osborn (of green goblin fame /silly) and friend of Peter Parker. Usually characterized as well intentioned and a good friend, but also tends to wind up under the influence of villainy for one reason or the other (or he dies). Would be a good "best friend and/or rival" character.

Mary Jane Watson - an actress/model/singer, childhood friend of Peter and sometimes love interest. She's known for being outgoing and free spirited, but also very sharp and capable. Would be a good love interest or best friend any Spider People could confide in.

Gwen Stacy - daughter of police chief Stacy and sometimes love interest of Peter. I'll be honest I'm not sure what type of science she's into but she's a scientist! Of some sort. She's usually portrayed as more down to earth and level headed. Would be a good love interest spot or friend, her and Peter met in college. She usually dies though.

Eddie Brock - most commonly associated with Venom, characterizations of him can vary a bit, with him appearing as full on villain in some iterations and an antihero in others. Sometimes a total jerk, sometimes a jerk who is ultimately a good person, could serve as a good rival or villain turned sometimes-ally. (Portrayals of Venom vary as well, with him sometimes being almost entirely animalistic or very ill intentioned, and other times just having those inclinations but is itself still sentient and can be reasoned with).

John Jonah Jameson (JJ) - the guy in charge of the Daily Bugle and Spider-Man's #1 hater. Loud mouthed, a tough boss, and very stubborn, but the best interpretations of him always show him to ultimately be a good guy who really cares about the people around him and the city as a whole. Rarely plays a major role in the plot, predominantly serves as a connection between the various journalists and whatnot and Spider-Man as well as the city itself.

Ben Urich - arguably a daredevil character but he has appeared in Spider-Man so I'm including him. An investigative journalist with the bugle, a bit old fashioned and very work oriented, but overall a good guy which is why he does what he does. Would be a good spot for a stern character with strong morals willing to work alongside the Spider People

Robbie Robertson - bugle editor and JJ's right hand. Compassionate and intelligent, he’s a good counter to JJ's temper and often looks out for Peter when he can. Would be a good spot for a friendly face and someone to cover anyone else who works for the bugle when things go sideways.

Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) - criminal turned antihero, she's predominantly a burglar who is influenced by Spider-Man for the better and teams up with him from time to time (also a sometimes love interest). Would be a good spot for a high romantic tension "enemies" to lovers dynamic, or just a come-and-go friendship with lots of teasing.

I have no idea how useful any of this is but if you'd like to check out anything to get a feel for yourself, I really enjoyed watching Penny Snapcube play the Spider-Man games last year, they have some pretty good characterizations of a lot of these guys, I highly recommend! Also the Mysterio design in 2......

Okay, so in hindsight, I don't know many characters in Spider-Man to really get a good idea on who would be who in my spider-man/spider-verse AU. If there are notable characters from spider-man that you guys know and you have a brief idea on who they are and what do they do, please let me know!
