Star Trek conventions are so funny. After I got an autograph from somebody, I went to an empty table nearby so I could set my stuff down for a second while I put my autograph in a protective sleeve, and I hear somebody yell at Ethan Peck (whose table is across from the empty table) "HEY HOT SPOCK!" and I turn around because I want to know who the fuck just said that. And it was Jonathan Frakes.

no one has gotten spock since leonard nimoy but at least zachary quinto and the aos writers kind of tried? snw spock is a mockery. why is he buff and shiny and horny and straight and eating fucking bacon. where is the eyeshadow. the cunt. the chest hair. the autistic swagger and gay loser energy. they succeeded in straightening spock but now he is no longer spock. that is literally just some guy.

I’ve been. Losing my shit trying to find out when Vulcans start Pon Farr.

First instance, Spock in his mid-thirties. It’s implied he’s late in his presentation of it, as his human physiology affected it. Sure, yeah, makes sense.

Second, we have rapidly regenerated Spock at seventeen. It’s implied this early presentation is because of the rapid aging. Totally.

Third, Vorik, who seems to be in his mid to late twenties. That seems like the most reasonable age, yeah? He’s the only full Vulcan we see for his first, so maybe it’s somewhere in their twenties.

Hold on, but then fourth we get Tuvok’s comment about how he doesn’t start Pon Farr until he’s thirty-five, apparently? Puts Spock into a different light, but like, fine?? I guess?? Even if this throws off how his kids work which is a whole other thing.

But then! Even better! Number five, we have T’Pol, who goes into Pon Farr for the first time at like sixty??? SIXTY?? Nope. What.

I don’t even have anything interesting to add. I’m just annoyed. I’m not even writing anything or some shit, I just hate the fact that Star Trek writers can’t keep their heads on straight.

Really appreciate how Spirk canonically can be anything you want. Like they really have it all, something for everyone:

In AOS they are angsty college age fuck ups

In SNW they are late 20s/early 30s having crises of adulthood

In TOS they are mature middle aged professionals

In TMP they are in their old man yaoi era

You can put them in school together. You can put them in any era of earth history with time travel. Any fanfic trope your heart desires can be canon compliant via planet-of-the-week shenanigans. There's the mirrorverse for when you're feeling evil. They both literally die and come back to life via sheer indestructible plot armor. The fuck or die already came free with your subscription.
