“Well... damn...” Jim said in response to Spock’s move. “I’m obviously gonna have to try harder.” He got up to stretch for a minute before returning to his chair once more. “Computer, music, classical, twentieth century,” he stated as he continued looking at the board, thinking quite intently about his next move. Mozart came on in the cabin, quietly, and he hummed softly.

"No, no, no, that's okay. No touching." (hello! I hope you don't mind my sending an ask.)

The Vulcan let his hand fall back down to his side. “I apologise, captain. I have come to find that a mind meld is a valuable tool in trying to understand and speak intelligently about human emotion.” 

He cocked his head to the side, clasping his hands behind his back. “But it is a rather intimate experience, I should not have presumed.”

hello *waves*

Yes, I’m alive, and I made it through the first two days of school. I have a total of 122 students divided between 11th and 12th grade English students. 6 of my students have special needs, which is great because those are the kinds of students I taught last year at a different school and this summer during summer school. Crazy first two days to say the least.

Tomorrow night is parent orientation which means a long day and late night. But I am enjoying the new school and the great kids. I will get to threads and such tomorrow, though I only have two drafts so feel free to send me asks/starters/etc if you want to do anything. Have a great night!

Jim was a bit shocked at the simple move from the other and frowned softly as he studied the board. He leaned back as he thought of the move he would make. Why just move the king? What was Spock doing? Eventually, and without saying a word during his thought process, he moved his knight into play as another defense against Spock’s queen. He glanced across at the Vulcan and watched him carefully.

“I need to finish these reports and get them sent in,” Jim answered, gratefully accepting the coffee and taking a sip before setting the cup down. “I’m about a month behind on getting them filed so... I’ll get some sleep when I’m done, Bones...”

Jim jerked awake at Chekov’s voice and almost dumped the PADD’s onto the floor. “Pavel?” He shook himself awake and glanced at the younger man. “Is... uh... is something wrong? What’s up?”
