biography:
Callum Brooks moved to Kismet Harbor in the fall of 2023, carrying nothing but a beat-up duffel bag and a restless kind of hope. At just 18 years old, he'd officially aged out of the foster system, stepping into adulthood with no family to fall back on. The foster homes he'd lived in throughout his childhood were a patchwork of temporary shelters — some kind, some indifferent, some he tries not to remember. Kismet Harbor, with its quiet streets and weather-beaten docks, felt like the first place that didn’t expect anything from him. He found a cheap, run-down studio above an old bookstore near the waterfront, and somehow, the smell of salt air and old paper made it feel like maybe, just maybe, he could start over.
Growing up, Callum learned early not to get too attached — to people, places, or promises. But underneath the defenses he built, there’s a fiercely loyal heart. He’s the kind of person who would give you the jacket off his back without a second thought, even if he pretends to be indifferent while doing it. In Kismet Harbor, he works odd jobs to stay afloat: unloading cargo at the docks, fixing things at the marina, even helping out at the bookstore when the owner’s arthritis flares up. He doesn’t complain much — he’s used to figuring things out on his own — but sometimes, when the nights are long and the sea fog rolls in, loneliness creeps up on him in ways he can’t always shake.
Despite everything he’s been through, Callum is surprisingly gentle. He has a dry, quick sense of humor and an easy smile that he doesn’t give away lightly, but when he does, it’s genuine. He keeps to himself mostly, wary of letting people in too close, but he’s not unfriendly. Music is his biggest outlet — he plays an old guitar he found at a thrift shop, his voice low and a little rough around the edges, perfect for the kinds of songs that speak of longing and survival. He's also a talented sketch artist, often filling battered notebooks with quiet drawings of the harbor, strangers he sees at the café, or half-remembered faces from his past.
More than anything, Callum dreams of building something permanent — a life, a home, maybe even a family someday, though he rarely lets himself think that far ahead. For now, Kismet Harbor is enough. It’s the place where he’s learning who he is when no one is watching, where he’s making peace with the idea that even broken things can be beautiful. He's not looking for a rescue; he never has been. But somewhere deep down, a small part of him dares to hope that maybe, here, he doesn’t have to stay alone forever.

character information
name: Farren Belrose
faceclaim: Liana Liberato
gender & pronouns: Cis woman, She/Her/Hers
age: Twenty Five
birthday: June/28/1999
place of birth: Nice, France
occupation: Ballet instructor at Graceful Moves Ballet Center
neighborhood: Downtown
time since arriving in kismet harbor: since March 2017
biography:
Farren had lost basically everyone in her life who should have been there for her. Her mother died when she was fourteen, and her father was never around, too busy working as a distraction from losing his wife. Her sister had run away, and the only people searching for her were the police, due to the murders she had committed in their hometown Nice, France.
Growing up for Farren was nothing like what it was for most children. Her parents were poor, and though they tried their very best to care for their children, it was very difficult for them. Usually Farren wore what most would consider to be rags to school, and her lunches were nothing more than a lonely piece of warm lunch meat between two slices of bread that were just good enough to be able to ingest, though barely. Most of the other children in her school would laugh and make fun of Farren and her sister, because the others had wonderful things. They had normal clothes and wonderful lunches, unlike Farren.
Farren would have loved to have a regular life like everyone else seemed to have. It was something she dreamed of constantly. Her and her family had no access to running water, usually resulting in them having to bathe themselves in the lake down the road. It wasn’t much, but it was the very best they could do. Farren didn’t blame her parents for this though. She knew they were trying their best to keep the family happy and healthy.
As Farren aged, she found a release, something to take away all of her pain, if only for the smallest sliver of time. Drugs were like her savior. At fourteen, she experimented with drugs for the very first time. She would have never thought she would dig herself so deep into a hole after only one year, though. She became completely addicted, barely being able to handle even a few hours without anything to calm her nerves, to help her forget all she had ever gone through in her life for a few minutes, if that. She couldn’t help herself. Everywhere she went, she had something hidden away: alcohol, pills. She would sneak into the washroom or go outside of wherever she may have been to get high or sneak a swig of alcohol, hoping nobody would be able to tell once she returned. Her parents never noticed the descent their daughter was going down. Farren became incredibly good at hiding her drug use, and the subsequent withdrawals she'd experience when she couldn't snag something off of one of her classmates.
One day, she stumbled into the ballet class her school held every week. She was enthralled with it; the beautiful dresses, the careful, smooth movements. She'd spend a lot of her time there. It was her greatest distraction from the constant noise in her mind, telling her how much she needed those drugs. Eventually she joined in, and they taught her how to control her body in the same graceful ways she'd studied them doing. To her, dance became a secondary release, and she knew it was something she wanted to continue with throughout her life.
When Farren turned eighteen, she planned to get out and get away from her town. It was the one thing bringing her down and causing her addictions to worsen. So, she packed as many of her belongings as she could fit into her bags, said goodbye to her father, and took a plane to Kismet Harbor. She was just old enough to live on her own. It was a scary endeavor, but it was one she was excited to take on.
Now, though Farren’s addictions are still rampant, she is trying her best to succeed in life. She has cleaned herself up for the most part and took responsibility. She knew she couldn’t live on her own if she was going to act like a child. She became a ballet instructor at Graceful Moves Ballet Center. It’s a much better distraction when she cannot have access to drugs. She is a lot more content with her life, and hopes to keep herself cleaned up for good. It may be difficult, but she is willing to try.

character information
name: Madeleine Foster
Faceclaim: Anne Hathaway
gender & pronouns: cis-female & she/her
Age: 42
birthday: November 12th, 1982
place of birth: Maggie Valley, North Carolina
Occupation: Traveling Photo Journalist
Neighborhood: Driftwood Haven in an RV
time since arriving in kismet harbor: Just arrived (like 2 days ago)
filling a wanted connection?: No
Biography:
parental neglect (seemingly), death of a loved one, cancer, teen pregnancy, sexual exploitation, abortion tw
One of the many things about Madeleine Foster that stood her out from her peers was her inability to stay in one place for too long. It wasn’t her fault; it just happened to be the way she was raised. Because you see, Theodora never meant to get pregnant when she met that man nine months prior, nor did she plan to become a mother ever, but, when she’d found out she were pregnant, Theodora knew that she’d always have a built in best friend in the child she were carrying; little did she know that statement wouldn’t be more true as it was revealed she were carrying a baby girl. Theodora Foster had been a nomad for the better part of her life; kicked out of her home at eighteen for her promiscuity, her and her van traveling the world state by state, doing anything she could to make ends meet. Not that it was hard, she were a people person through and through, gaining the trust and love of the community with nearly every town she made herself known in. So when she found herself somewhere outside Maggie Valley - assumingly at least - giving birth in the van in the middle of the night, her life with her built in best friend started.
Medical care was something she didn’t take too seriously; she did what was needed for the sake of carrying a child, but her take on life was a more holistic/do what you can when you can type of approach; but once Madeleine was born she began to care more, seaking doctors for her daughter in every town they’d settle in, going to annual visits herself. She had something more to live for now, it wasn’t just her anymore. And with that, the two began a life together, love and shared adventures the fuel for the mother/daughter duo.
Madeleine can remember the first time they settled somewhere new; it had been four years since they’d found their home in Maggie Valley - as much of a home as the back of a van could be anyways - and she remembered specifically a man who’s name she barely remembered now. But her mother had been heartbroken, tears shed by both as they’d traveled up the coast to Boone, North Carolina, tears shed as they left the friendships they’d made behind. While Boone wasn’t Maggie Valley, it felt like a breath of fresh air as they settled. Thankfully Theodora had a bit of a hand on making hand made crafts, working someone weekends at the local bar - all while Madeleine was at the hands of whoever Theodora could trust to look after her little girl - but they made it. The tips were good, the art would sell at local festivals for nearly more than she’d spent making them, and somehow, despite how strenuous it was at time, it worked for them.
At the age of five when Madeleine was finally old enough to start school, Theodora had hit it off with the owner of a bookstore in Boone; a widow who had spent the majority of her life raising her own children alone, and she’d really admired a soft spot for Theodora and little Madeleine. So, after hours when Theodora would spend the nights restocking the shelves, placing books back where they were supposed to be, Madeleine would dive into her studies. She wasn’t one that loved the idea of school, but, if the two were going to live a nomad type lifestyle at least she could learn what she wanted mixed in with what she needed. And using the workbooks at the bookstore saved them some money; Theodora could focus on keeping the van maintained and the food on the table instead of buying workbooks that Madeleine likely would’ve just tossed out at the end of each year. It wasn’t the ideal situation for the family - not that either minded - but they were together which is what mattered the most. The bookstore hours seemed to pick up more, allowing Madeleine to sit in the back room studying while her mom - who was flirt by nature - picked up more hours, things began to change. Boone, North Carolina began to feel a little more like home; they even managed to gain access to a rental house - an actual building with four walls, a front and back door and a yard - all thanks to Mr. Conway, the bookstore local who had a thing or two for younger women.
That’s the only time Madeleine’s ever lived somewhere that wasn’t on wheels; and for the first time in the tiny girl’s life, she felt as if things may change. She could make friends without the fear of leaving them, she could get a dog. She could be a kid, like she was supposed to be. Though, that would all change rapidly at just six years old when Mr. Conway asked Theodora to marry him, and with tears in both of their eyes, they packed up the van - a room full of toys left behind - and traveled four hours higher north, landing themselves in Charlottesville, Virginia. Unlike the mountain air that Madeleine had been part of for the first six years of her life, Charlottesville would welcome a whole new kind of town vibe for the little girl. Being in Charlottesville opened up a whole new type of work ethic within Theodora, the world of holistic medicine becoming her oyster there. She began doing her own research in the hours that Madeleine was doing her school work, taking a more natural approach as she navigated the things she could do to make her own medicines and what herbs and things she could add to their dishes to help promote better health. And of course in true Theodora fashion she used that to make a living for them. It wasn’t as much income as the bookstore had been, but for someone who’s fear of settling down had nearly tripled from the last town it sufficed. Not to mention it gave her a little more freedom to meet whoever she could at the local markets. That’s where Ambrosia came into play, another person Madeleine should’ve from the start not to get close to.
Ambrosia had been someone that had come more unexpectedly than the last, someone that admired both Theodora and Madeleine for their hard work through the years, but she was also someone that would show the two of them what it felt like to be loved. They loved deeply, a love like no other, igniting a fire in the new found family as they lived their lives the best that they could, unapologetically. It was truly a missing piece from the Foster family that they didn’t even know was missing. She joined them on their adventures, moving from place to place, They traveled near and far, doing anything they could to just be present, Taking on new adventures, seeing the world with a new found light. It was during this time that Madeleine’s love for photography and her desire to capture the world as she knew it would change every ounce of her adult life. They were happy - Madeleine could even say that she’d seen her first real idea of what a family truly looked like - but it all came crashing down just before Madeleine’s tenth birthday when they awoke to the horrific sight of Ambrosia who had passed peacefully in her sleep. Things were never the same for the Fosters after that, and as they coped with losing Ambrosia, their lives began to rebuild without her.
They spent the next several years traveling, deciding to take their travels cross country, heading towards California. Through the years Madeleine had spent a lot of time asking questions about her father, and given her best efforts Theodora would do her best to answer them. But it was after a visit to the doctor that would give her the news - “you have breast cancer’ - that would send her into the very thought of taking that trip across the country; what better way to meet the other parent then when your primary one was secretly dying? And so they did. Stopping along the way, spending a week here or a day or two there. All with one goal in mind; make it to the west coast. Yet that two year journey - while doable in less time, they’d taken this trip as seriously as the rest of their lives, doing the most and spending the most time they could at each stop along the way - came to a halt when Theodora passed in a local hospital after being too sick to travel. They were just outside New Orleans, Louisiana at the time, a tiny little place cremating her ashes and sending Madeleine on her way. The girl - if anything - was determined, and she continued the trek out west, making her way to California .
Only once she was there, the realization that she’d never meet her father became more apparent, She learned he was a big time screen writer in Hollywood - something most people her age couldn’t say - and while the unity of father and daughter would never happen, it was through this discovery that Madeleine met a man twice her age, Reginald Bronswick.  Reginald was a man with a passion, a passion to have as many women under his wing as he could manage, and for once in Madeleine’s life since her mother’s death she let him grow close to her. She’d attend parties, movie screenings, anything she could manage to do in order to stay on his good side and be paid to do whatever he needed. Sometimes it was sexual favors, sometimes it was simply just showing up and putting in a good word for him. And Madeleine didn’t care the cost, the pay was much too good to turn it down and so she continued, living the lavish life for a few nights a month or whenever an appearance was needed, taking it all in. For a second she got a glimpse of what it would be like to meet her father and live the life in the spotlight from a young age. She’d be far less motivated to travel; or maybe it would’ve been the opposite. Maybe her desire to travel would’ve been stronger to get away from it all. She couldn’t say for certain, all she could say was that this was a life she could get used to.
Though, nearly a year into this lifestyle a sickness overcame her, and while her mind would automatically move to the worst, it was a trip to the nicest clinic in town that would reveal Madeleine was pregnant. She told Reginald, wanting him to know just how serious it was and he released her, sending her on her way with a check to keep her mouth shut, sealing the decision Madeleine had made for herself awhile ago. She was in no position to be a mother, making her way to the very same clinic a day later, scheduling for an abortion. There was no time to slow down however, and she took to the road again, wheels hot on the pavement as she said goodbye to Los Angeles in the rearview mirror. She began traveling the coast of California, stopping from town to town until she was bored before she’d move on again. It was a small town just outside Los Angeles that housed her for the longest, and there she started working at a dive bar when a regular customer found her instagram and offered her a position within their company. It was a traveling journalism career and while no one else seemed to want to travel for the job due to other priorities, someone with a background like Madeleine’s was all the convincing they need. And that’s what started it all.
She spent the last twenty years traveling the globe, making money, renting a car whenever she were there, doing whatever she could to get name out there. Her mom’s van was left behind in Los Angeles under safe keeping at the clients house, which she’d always come back for anytime she were traveling the US. That’s what led her to Kismet Harbor; an assignment to capture that small town life through photos. What she discovers here is surely something that will change her life for the better. Will she choose to stay? Or will it all be too much for her in the end?
Other: Just a side note; she’s going to only be here for six months-ish. I’m killing her off via cancer. You guys have already been asked I just wanted to include it here.

name: Anli Downing
faceclaim: Malese Jow
gender & pronouns: cis-female & she/her
Age: 34
birthday: February 18th
place of birth: Kismet Harbor, Oregon
Occupation: Sommelier, Manager & Tour Guide at Kinsellas Vineyard
Neighborhood: Hawthorne Hideaway
time since arriving in kismet harbor: Born & Raised
filling a wanted connection?: Filling a connection for the cunnamore vs. kinsellas vineyard rivalry, Simon Hawtorne’s daughter’s mother
Biography:
Anli was born in Kimet Harbor, Oregon to a family already full of pride. The oldest child to her parents - yet one of the younger of the entire crew - Anli learned from an early age that family would always be important. She’d also learn the importance of business, but, that wouldn’t really impact her until much later in life. She was six months old when her father (David Downing)  and his sister (Claire Downing) inherited their share of the vineyard, a sixth generation Downing duo that would take the vineyard and keep it growing, passing it along to the next generation of children to inherit it. It was truly one of the things that the Downing family had the most pride about, and even though it were David and Claire that were the owners, it was really the entire Downing/Little Family that were the true visionaries.
The winery was truly the only place that Anli was ever seen in her early years. It’s where she learned to talk, took her first steps, would pick flowers out in the open field, and where she’d really learn a lot about herself. Where most of the holidays were hosted with her cousins Ruby and Jade Little, along with all of the birthday parties - both with families and those that would come later on in school - truly every bit of a holiday or bigger celebration was hosted on the winery. It was the first place she’d been when she broke her arm for the first time; she was in the fields of the winery with her Aunt Claire when her parents had brought her younger sister home. It truly was the foundation for most of Anli’s existence, and much like with her parents she found herself unable to stop talking about it. Sure, the conversations once she started school would give her the slightest look of a side eye or two, but, that didn’t mean anything to Anli. If anything, it just made her more motivated to talk about it.
She truly was a social butterfly, striking up a conversation with any and everyone. If she saw someone sitting alone, she’d likely be the first one to go up to them - often met with the annoyance that she talked to much - but Anli didn’t care. She took the opportunity to talk to anyone that would listen, which is how she met her best friend, Makayla Hoffman, one of two people that would be there for her through all of their trials together. School was always something that came easy for Anli; despite the fact that she could’ve easily made straight A’s, she was one that preferred the social aspect of school, allowing herself to really fully indulge in as many groups and extracurriculars as she could manage.
Staying in Kismet wasn’t something she’d ever been opposed to, so, after she graduated from Chapman University and started working as a receptionist at Pen & Paper Publishing, trying to dip her toes into a life of ‘her own’ before she was due to take over the winery, if she were to ever do so. She still wasn’t sure that she wanted that responsibility. So instead she focused on building her own life, working as much as she could at the publishing company. It was during this time that she was reintroduced to Simon Hawthorne - the two had met once before their college years - and they entered a very ‘unserious’ relationship. She knew going into it that the chances of it being serious were slim; she wasn’t even sure that being in Kismet Harbor were going to be for her forever. So after a hookup, Anli was offered a job opportunity in a different state, moving, but what she didn’t know at that time was that her life was about to be changed for the better.
It was only a month into her move to a new place that she found out she was pregnant, and her mind was racing as she tried to decide what she wanted to do. Being a mother was never on Anli’s agenda, but now that she was going to be she suddenly couldn’t picture her life any differently. She’d contemplated contacting Simon, letting him know from the beginning, but, by the time that Anli was able to fully process the new herself she’d gotten the call. Her Aunt Claire had passed away suddenly, her uncle wanting to leave the family and grieve by traveling the world, so, Anli moved back home, the peace and comfort that came with being in her family during the two most difficult times of her life settling her mind that Kismet was where she was meant to be. Though, the news only seemed to get worse once she arrived back in Kismet; things on the winery weren’t looking too great without her aunt and uncle’s help around the property. Add that along with the economic loss they were already taking. not to mention they’d just included an expansion in the budget this year prior, which had taken a giant chunk of money, causing them to be on the verge of bankruptcy and losing the only thing the Downing family had known for three generations. It had been Anli who had put in a word to look into an investor, and much to her surprise the Hawthorne Brothers had been the ones to turn things around. Not without a fight, of course, David Downing was far too prideful to accept the help at first, and he certainly didn’t have many good things to say about the Hawthorne’s in the long run, but at least he got the keep the business, something that Anli herself was proud of.
The Hawthorne investment should’ve been Anli’s first reason to tell Simon about their child - a daughter who she named Olivia - yet her father’s pride kept her from telling him until much later. Olivia was Anli’s biggest blessing, and with the help of her family, she was able to be the best mother she could be while also being the best employee she could be, taking her new role as manager of the winery with pride. She worked diligently, doing anything she could to keep herself a float while living in a tiny home on the property of the winery. It wasn’t until 2021 that she finally got the courage - nearly a year after the Hawthorne’s bought the winery - Anli met with Simon and told him that they had a daughter - who was four at the time - that she was his. The two agreed to keep it their little secret - outside of the few people that knew; Makayla, Ruby, Jade and Anli’s mother - and Simon began being a more active part in Olivia’s life. Slow at first, but it picked up the older that Olivia got, wanting to be more and more present as she asked more and more questions the older she was. Simon sends money to Olivia every month which Anli has started a bank account for, only using the income for things she needs if she’s tight on money for the month, but, it works out. She wouldn’t say her and Simon were close, but, when it came to co-parenting they handled it in their own way. Doing their best to put the interest of their daughter first.
Her life in Kismet has finally started to feel like it’s settling down, and despite the fact that she doesn’t love that she has to ‘keep her daughter’ a secret, she’s making it work. Managing the winery, spending time with her family. Kismet Harbor turned out to be home for her after all.

biography:
( TW: pregnancy, slight mention of child abandonment & ableism )
Elliot was quite the surprise to his parents, while they were very much trying for a baby, finding out that their son was born profoundly deaf after he was born was quite the shock. And while they could have taken it hard, his parents jumped right into action, enrolling their selves in sign language classes, wanting Elliot to have access to that form of communication right from the start. They also looked into the Deaf Community, wanting him to be proud of who he was, and Elliot has been just that. Being deaf is something that Elliot is so proud of, his language, his culture, and being a part of the community. And because his parents did not hesitate from the start, his main form of communication is American Sign Language. Though he can read lips the smallest bit when needed and uses his phone to write back to people who might not know ASL.
His parents had always instilled a confidence about him, not an ego or being cocky, just that he can do anything that he sets his mind to. That he can do the same as anyone that can hear, that he is just simply down a sense but he had quickly learned to adapt to the world around him. Elliot did great in school, was in honors classes in high school, and played soccer, baseball, and even did track and field. Though when it came to a career for himself, Elliot was a bit stumped at first. But it was his nurturing nature that landed him on wanting to become a nurse. Which the fire was set even more under him when one of his high school counselors told him that might be impossible because he was deaf. So Elliot did what he always did, he set out to prove them wrong. Not only did he make his way through Nursing School but graduated towards the top of his class. It took a while for him to land a job, which he knew might be the case, but it was the ER that took him on no questions asked. That made things accessible for him, some of his co workers even learning ASL as well. And Elliot has been working in the ER as a nurse for years now.
Elliot had thought that was simply his life, working at the hospital, hanging out with friends and family, and simply being a dog dad. All things he was very content with. However, it was a text message four months ago that would turn his life upside down. It was his one night stand telling him that she had a baby, that it was his, and the baby, like him, had been born deaf. Not prepared to have a child and scared of what it might look like for her to raise a deaf baby, she told Elliot to come get his daughter. She signed over full custody to Elliot and now he has been raising Sawyer on his own. While it had been challenging at times, Elliot has stepped into his role as a dad. Knowing that he would do anything in the world for his little girl.
If he’s not working or raising Sawyer, Elliot is the type of person who loves to be outside and doing something. A huge fan of working out, running, hiking, anything outdoor related that he can do. He is also a dog dad to two rescues named Lady and Hugo. Elliot is the sort of person that would give a stranger the shirt off his back, no questions asked. Right now, he’s still trying to navigate the new world of being a single dad while balancing everything else. And truth be told, he couldn’t be happier, truly living out the most amazing life he could possibly have.

biography:
Bio: (tw army, injury, medical, foster care, adoption, drugs)
James and his sibling were born to a mother that was much too young. The only thing she cared abut was her boyfriend of the week and where she would be getting her next hit from.
By the time James was four, him and his sibling were placed into foster care. While they were younger, the two of them were put into the same homes but one day when they were much older, they were ushered into different cars. James' last glimpse of them was when the car he was in pulled away, never seeing them again.
He bounced around foster care much of his life, finally get placed into one with his soon to be adoptive sibling, Lucia, and finally at the age of seventeen, right before he would age out, James was adopted.
The one thing that kept James sane during his time in foster care was music. He stared to collect old records and even took to playing the drums, which he was incredibly good at. Playing in the school jazz band all four years of high school.
There was no doubt that James wanted to make music his career and soon after high school, he was enrolled in college to study music composition and percussion. However, as he went into his second year, James began to doubt himself, and without telling anyone, he dropped out. Enlisting in the army instead.
James was great in the army and for the first time in a long time, he felt like he belonged somewhere. And he would go on to serve a total of eight years before deciding it was time to get out and see what else the world had to offer.
However, luck was no on his side, and just a few mere weeks before James was supposed to get out, his troop was ambushed on a mission. James had been too close to the explosion and was severely injured, for a brief stint of time, they weren't even for sure if he was going to make it or not.
He spent a month and a half in a hospital overseas, waiting until he was stable enough to be flown back to Chicago. And once he was, James spent over another month in the local hospital. Where he underwent several surgeries and got the diagnosis of a traumatic brain injury.
For the most part he was okay, however the TBI does affect his memory some. Causing him to forget things here and there- which always seems to a be a gamble of what he might remember one day to the next. There is also quite a bit of PTSD that has resulted from not only his accident but his time serving overall.
Now James is just trying to navigate this new life, figuring out what his new normal looks like. Though with his love of music, James has landed a job at the record store. Which has brought some much needed normalcy to his life.

filling a wanted connection?: n/a
biography: baxter st. james didn’t grow up in a home — she grew up on set. born and raised in los angeles, she was thrust into the world of child acting before she’d even lost her baby teeth. by the time she was ten, she was the face of a hit family sitcom, smiling on red carpets in dresses picked out by stylists and answering talk show questions with rehearsed charm. to the public, she was sweet, talented, and lucky. but behind the scenes, she was a product — micromanaged, overworked, and constantly told who to be. her parents, dazzled by the money and fame, rarely acted in her best interest, and by the time baxter was old enough to have agency, she was already unraveling.
the world watched her spiral in real time. party photos, dui headlines, a messy stint in rehab at 21 — she became a cautionary tale of child star burnout, her downfall more talked about than her talent ever was. when she disappeared from the spotlight a few years later, the media buzzed with rumors: was she dead? institutionalized? secretly married with a kid in montana? but baxter wasn’t any of those things. she was just exhausted. she ditched la with a single bag, emptied her accounts, and drove with no destination in mind. she lived out of hotels for a while, kept a low profile. eventually ended up in kismet harbor by accident — a flat tire on the way to somewhere else — and decided to stay when no one seemed to recognize her.
life in kismet is unglamorous, and that’s what baxter likes about it. she works at cedar grill & lounge, serves cheap whiskey to barflies, and keeps her head down. she doesn't go by her full name (usually "bee" sometimes "bax") unless someone asks, and even then, it’s often met with confusion or a distant “you look familiar.” the anonymity is comforting. still, traces of who she was leak through — the way she watches people like she’s studying lines, or the sharp wit that comes out when she’s had a drink, despite her efforts to stay invisible.
baxter isn’t sure what she wants her future to look like. acting is out of the question, but the itch to create still lingers. she’s been writing again — quietly, secretly, on a beat-up laptop — and has played a few open mic nights under a fake name. she’s guarded and skeptical of people’s intentions, but she’s not heartless. maybe kismet harbor isn’t just a place to hide. maybe it’s where she figures out who she is when no one’s watching — or maybe it’s where she burns it all down and starts again. either way, she’s not running anymore.

biography:
Coralie Olsen was born to a young couple in Portland, Oregon, one far too busy with their lives to raise a child. They tried to raise her, but she only lived with them until she was about three months old. No matter how hard they tried, they had to make the unfortunate decision to give up their first born. Coralie was adopted by two women, Hannah and Jennifer Olsen. They had been wanting a child for a long time, and weren't able to naturally conceive, so they opened their doors and their hearts for their new child.
Coralie's life growing up was rather normal. She was fed, clothed and endlessly loved. Jennifer stayed home with her, and Hannah worked tirelessly to provide the best life she could for their daughter. Coralie never knew anything but the adoration she was surrounded by. At five years old, she learned about her being adopted, and while at that age she couldn't understand what that meant, she could understand that she had two sets of loving parents. She stayed living with her adopted family, and her bio family would visit and stay in the Olsen home with Coralie's biological sister.
When Hannah had days off, she and Jennifer would take Coralie to the ocean nearby, spending all day on the beach. Coralie would collect shells and watch the little fish swim around in the water while her mothers kept a close eye on her. She loved the ocean and all of its creatures. She'd beg her mothers to buy her books and magazines about the ocean, just so she could learn as much as possible about it. This was an interest that stuck with her throughout her whole life, and as a teen she decided she'd study marine biology. She wanted to help animals and other creatures in the ocean.
When Coralie was twenty, she moved out of her parents' home and set her sights on Kismet Harbor. She got her own little apartment, just big enough for her and her piles of books. She was determined to get herself to a comfortable place to be ready for university. She earned herself a small cashier job at Aquatica. It wasn't much, but it allowed her to be close to sea life. She worked there long enough to save up for her tuition. At twenty six, she quit and sent in her university applications. Later that year, she was accepted into the Chapman University for a marine biology course to get her bachelor's degree.
Now, Coralie is working hard for her degree. She is determined to become a marine scientist. She makes jewelry on the side, and owns a small business selling it to make extra cash.

name: Dalia Delgado
faceclaim: Zion Moreno
gender & pronouns: she/her, female (transgender)
age: 30
birthday: February 23, 1995
place of birth: please include the location of their birth.
occupation: Leasing agent at Sunset Ridge Townhomes
Neighborhood: Emerald Mist (Sunset Ridge Townhomes)
time since arriving in kismet harbor: August of 2007 - May of 2010 for college returned March 2024
filling a wanted connection?: Mateo’s half sibling & Tyler’s College Ex
biography: Dalia Delgado was born on a rainy day in Las Cruces, New Mexico. What should’ve been a memorable day for the Torres/Delgado family, quickly turned into a day that would shape Dalia’s life for the rest of her life. Born to Ricardo Delgado - a construction worker who had moved to New Mexico with his mother as a young boy - and Dolores Torres - a convenience store clerk who had lost what was left of her inheritance to gambling early in her relationship with Ricardo - the girl would be lacking the love of a mother the moment she was born. Much like with her relationship with Dolores’ first child, Matteo, Dalia would soon be left behind in the care of her father.
Ricardo, Dalia and Ricardo’s mother - Marisol Delgado - all lived in a smaller two bedroom home that had been the home Ricardo had grown up in. They were close; Marisol helped take care of Dalia growing up when Ricardo would be out on a job, making sure that Dalia was cared for, loved, fed, and homework was finished once that time came. It wasn’t the same love as a child gets with their mother, but, it was the missing piece of Dalia’s life that she’d never get from her father; he was simply too busy working to help put food on the table to be there for his child.
Dalia was a typical student, socially acceptable with her piers, and did their best to fit in wherever they could. Their personality really began to shine; they began to discover that they enjoyed things like cooking with Abuela in the kitchen, making floral arrangements with their friends down the street, making their own choreography to Latin music in the comfort of their shared bedroom. All things that would truly begin to shape Dalia’s life into adulthood. And while things began to feel like they were shaping her for the better, it was at the age of thirteen that the realization that they were a stranger in their own skin started to come to light. That’s when they came out to their family and friends; most people took it well, expressing how proud they were of their bravery to become who they were destined to be. It was no shock to Dalia that Abuela still welcomed with open arms, but it broke their heart that Ricardo - her father - would be the first person to take the news poorly. Arguments broke out between him and his mother who suggested he be the father his daughter had always needed or to leave that he made the decision to walk away from his family, leaving Dalia and Marisol to take care of themselves on Abuela’s fixed income.
At the age of sixteen Dalia applied for a job at the local pet store, eager to make some money to help Abuela, while also learning something new about herself. She really began to love aquatic animals, and would often find herself volunteering to work the fish wall just so she could make sure they were well cared for and their tanks were cleaned. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust anyone else to not do it properly, she just loved the fish so much she wanted to be the one to care for them; it gave her an insight to aquatic life, allowing her to really begin to focus her desires there. She continued her work there until she graduated high school, getting accepted into a college in Kismet Harbor, Oregon where she’d begin her life as her newfound self.
Moving to Kismet Harbor had been scary, something that she’d never thought she’d do. She didn’t have any ties here - or none that she knew about at the time - and starting fresh in a town she didn’t know with no one around her made her nervous. But, just like most things in Dalia’s life she handled it well, easing into it and eventually getting to a point where she felt like she’d been here all along. She’d began to join clubs around campus - book clubs, gardening clubs, study groups; she even took up knitting to help pass the time. On holidays she’d travel home to New Mexico, spend as much time with Abuela as she could before having to return back to school for the next semester. It was an adjustment, and while the weekly phone calls with Abuela would help get her through the hard weeks, it was really her sophomore year at college that she began to feel like she was finally in a normal routine.
She’d managed to get most of her general education classes out of the way, focusing primarily on the classes for her major moving forward. It was in one class in particular - biology to be exact - that she met Tyler Day. She’d spent the majority of her freshman year on campus, exploring what was within walking distance, but, it wasn’t until she met Tyler that she felt she began to truly get a grasp on what the town had to offer. He was a native, so there were secrets, good eating spots, all the people to socialize with which really gave Dalia an in when it came to figuring out the town. The two of them really hit it off as friends, and soon they ended up taking their friendship to the next level and started dating. They dated for a bit - Dalia was serious about him - and while their relationship was a new title, it really didn’t change much for them when it came to hanging out. If anything they just saw each other more often and for longer. Eventually, though, their relationship came to an end when Tyler didn’t want to be as serious as Dalia’s intentions were, and they broke up. It was thankfully easier than she’d thought - they’d ended up staying really good friends in the end - but she couldn’t deny that there were sometimes she’d be a little saddened at the thought that things didn’t work out. It was her junior year that she realized that their break up was for the best as she ended up leaving Kismet Harbor overnight when she caught wind of Abuela falling ill. Now it was Dalia’s turn to care for her like she’d done for her all those years.
Her return to New Mexico while focused on helping Abuela, had also led to more happiness for her. During that time she’d reunited with an old friend from her childhood, and the two fell in love quickly after, It felt like a dream - heaven sent if you would - and Dalia and her partner got engaged, their engagement lasting for several years. She transferred, getting her degree from New Mexico State University and took care of Abuela. Things were beginning to look up, Abuela was in remission and Dalia took the opportunity to move out of Abuela’s house, move into a home next door with her partner and the two could really start their lives together. Talks of kids, finally getting married, dinner with family, trips with friends. It was truly the best way that the two of them could’ve spent their time together. It was nearly seven years of pure bliss - sure they had their ups and downs, they were two young adults trying to navigate a life with so many things trying to break them apart - but they were in love. Of course, like most good love stories though, it came with it’s own trials, and Abuela’s cancer returned full force. This time, there was no chance of survival.
So, Dalia and her partner took it in stride, and in a tiny ceremony with her Abuela in the front row, the two were married. They shared personal vows with stories that they’d experienced together, and it was a ceremony full of love. Sadly, the honeymoon phase didn’t last for long; Abuela passed away two months later, sending Dalia into a spiral. Sure, now she had her partner, but, the only family she had left was now gone, and Dalia wasn’t sure how to cope with the loss. Grief felt like it consumed her, and there were days that she felt like she couldn’t breathe because of it. And while her partner should’ve been the most supportive, it was during this time that the most distance began to be created between the two. Dalia was grieving and her partner was pulling away, using every advantage they could to be away from the house. Two months after Abuela’s death, the two got their marriage annulled, and Dalia really began to grieve to her full ability. The boxes of photos at Abuela’s had always been something Dalia admired. And she’d remembered times where she’d begged Abuela to let her have some to put in frames in her room, to which Abuela would reply with “in due time, my dear”. Though, what she hadn’t expected was for the first box to contain a photo of her mother and a baby that wasn’t her. She reached out to her mom - who of course only wanted to give her answers for something in return - and with a little coaxing and bribing, Dolores admitted to having another child - Matteo Torres - that she’d abandoned in Kismet Harbor of all places a few years ago. And with that information, Dalia cut communication with her mother, packed up Abuela’s things and moved back to Kismet Harbor with a new journey in mind. Maybe - since he was all she had left - she could meet her brother and find her home in Kismet Harbor once more.

Bo Everett Harkin was born February 27th, 1990 to Jack and Lynn Harkin. Only a couple years younger than his brother, Adam, they were bonded from day one. A few years after Bo, the family welcomed their only daughter, Carly. Bo became her protector, even going as far as to get out of his bed in the middle of the night and sleep next to her crib. No harm would come to her under his watch.
Bo's early education was rather uneventful, he played percussion in the school band and was a member of the soccer team, eventually joining the volleyball team in high school. He earned decent grades and did his best to not cause his parents any stress, they had their hands full with three kids as is. His family’s home was the after-school destination, his parents just as welcoming and friendly as Bo.
In high school, things began changing. One of his best friends, well, Bo developed feelings toward her. He would stifle the crush for the sake of the group’s dynamic, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was there. Junior year homecoming, he finally took the plunge and asked her to be his date, and to his surprise, she accepted (and teased that it was about time). They were inseparable after that, each other’s support system through ups and downs. When the time came for Bo to enlist and head off to basic after graduation, she didn’t waver. Following in his brother’s footsteps, he packed his bag and set off for bootcamp.
Bo attended basic training at Fort Jackson and then Fort Sam Houston for his advanced individual training. His family and friends supported him throughout with their letters and attendance at his graduation. His first duty station was Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he would spend three years before getting orders for Honolulu. During his leave between duty stations, he attended his girlfriend’s college graduation and proposed on the spot. If they endured the last few years apart, they could make it through anything. They didn’t have much time then for a full-blown wedding, choosing to run off to the courthouse with Bo promising her the wedding of her dreams during holiday leave, giving them a little time to plan. After three years in Honolulu, he was stationed in Okinawa for two years. After these orders, he was given time to briefly return home.
His next duty station was Kosovo, where his brother was finishing up four years and preparing to move on to another base. During some down time, his brother took the unit on a humvee tour around the area. The brothers were able to catch up and everything was fine, until it wasn’t. Their vehicle ran over a mine, the blast severely injuring many on board – Bo’s injuries left him helpless, and the next thing he remembers is waking up in an American hospital. This ended up being weeks after the incident, and he wouldn’t know his brother’s fate until his parents and wife came to see him. Bo blamed himself for their injuries, but knowing they were alive gave him some peace.
His wife surprised him one day with an ultrasound, they were going to be parents. Though not her preferred way of telling him in the hospital, she knew Bo would be ecstatic, and he was. His recovery in rehabilitation took months, and he struggled with nightmares and loud noises. Eventually back on his own two feet, he helped his brother through more intense therapies and rehab, all the while trying to maintain his relationship with his pregnant wife. Bo became withdrawn, and when their daughter was born, he felt practically unable to connect to her. His silent struggles didn’t go unnoticed, his wife pressuring him into therapy that he still attends to this day.
Just as things were seemingly on the mend for his brother, one whole year after their injuries, he received a call from his sister-in-law that shook him to his core. Adam was gone, just like that, without warning. Well, they missed the warning signs, believing him to be returning to what would be his new normal. Bo blames himself and the loss is still something he struggles to accept years later. He puts on a strong front for the sake of his parents and younger sister, knowing all of them hurt with Adam's absence.
Bo was discharged from the army after his brother's passing, unable to mentally and emotionally recover in time to be deemed fit. He didn’t care at that point, he couldn’t take part in something he shared with Adam, something that ultimately tore them apart. He became a permanent resident in Kismet Harbor, celebrated his daughter’s first birthday, and tried to make up for lost time with his wife.
After a few years of being the stay-at-home dad, Bo ventured into starting his own business in 2020 – The Daily Drip. The environment is calm and Bo has complete control. He surprised even himself with his fascination in brews and creating new flavor combinations for seasonal specials, but he wouldn’t trade it for anything and intends for the business to stay in the family.
