Why Pampers Pure is Perfect for Us
Disclosure: I’m excited to be a Pampers Pure #PureTribe Ambassador. I’ve been provided compensation
and they’re keeping me stocked with diapers! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
p.p1 margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545
Well, it's been one busy, sleepy, noisy, sweet month we've had with our new little Alice, and one month as a family of 8! When she was born my oldest Eleanor was still 7, so for a little while I had 6 kids- 7 and under, which is still kinda nuts to me.haha It also makes it pretty understandable though why most of the questions I get these days (that aren't about hair) are about everything parenting and baby related, most recently being about my favorite baby essentials in particular. So, here I am today to share a couple of true essentials that I truly love, and explain a little more why I decided to join the Pampers #PureTribe!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As many of you know, before Richard joined our family I was pretty certain that I wouldn't be having any more children and so had given all of our baby stuff away. That meant that we got to start completely fresh when I found out I was expecting, which was a neat and unusual chance for a mom of five. I got to really decide what was actually essential and needed when it comes to baby supplies, and also to make more informed decisions about what was truly the best for my baby. Enter the newly launched Pampers Pure Collection! We got to start out fresh when it came to diapers and wipes as well, and we've been so happy with that choice.
I know so many moms like myself that have been hoping for diapers and wipes in the more 'natural' category, but have been let down many times when it came to their overall protection and durability or how gentle they really were on my babies' sensitive skin. That being said, when I first heard about the new Pampers Pure Collection of diapers and wipes I honestly thought they must be too good to be true, and Richard and I wondered where the compromise was going to come. After trying them for a while now though I can honestly say that they're exactly what I've been hoping for since I started having kids!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The diapers are made of super soft and gentle premium cotton, plant-based fibers and other thoughtfully selected materials, they're 100% free of chlorine bleaching, parabens, natural rubber latex, fragrances, and lotions, but with all the same protection we've come to trust and depend on from Pampers, even for our super active Evie! We also love the prints, the elastic edges don't leave harsh lines on their little thighs, they fit great, and it's also amazing to me (as a mom of particularly sensitive-skinned babies) that Alice is a month old now and hasn't dealt with a single diaper rash. That's a huge deal in our house!
The Aqua Pure wipes are also incredibly soft and silky while still being tough and durable, they're 99% water making them the highest water content wipe available and great for allover use on babies, and they're designed to help maintain the pH of baby's delicate skin. This feature in particular impressed Richard with his background in healthcare, because people don't often think about what a big difference that can make in caring for delicate skin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bottom line, we as parents try hundreds of products and brands looking for the very best for our children, and knowing that these are the diapers that my babies are wearing 24/7 gives me great peace of mind. I've gone through upwards of around 30,000 diapers in my years as a mom, and I've tried many different brands that have attempted to achieve what Pampers has successfully achieved with their Pure Collection! I have been let down enough times that I was cautious about these as well, but I'm so glad instead to be able to stand behind Pampers Pure and share them with you, and tell you that there's no need for compromise anymore between performance and pure materials and adorable designs:)
Have you tried these yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Take care, and thanks so much for visiting!

Review, Ingredients, Photos, Skincare Trend 2018, 2019, 2020: Best Hydrating Products, Rose Water, Touch In Sol, No Pore-blem Priming Water, Korean Skin Care
Touch In Sol No Pore-blem Priming Water | $23.00
Bulgarian rose water and essential oils compose this therapeutic, refreshing priming water from Korean beauty brand, Touch In Sol. Bulgarian rose water is 100% pure, natural, and undiluted, and obtained by steam distillation from fresh rose blossoms. The water-soluble active ingredients from rose water are said to, “provide anti-inflammatory and soothing benefits on the skin” and can be used as hydrating makeup prep and/or a mid-day refresher. The lightweight oil is to absorb instantly creating a moisture barrier that prevents evaporation. It is multi-use, so it can be applied to the body as well as the face. It can also be mixed with other products to improve their texture.
I was a little puzzled by this product at first as I was not familiar with the concept. But, I tried a few drops on my face before applying makeup. It had a very delicate and subtle rose fragrance which I liked. I also found it to be lightweight. It absorbed very quickly. It definitely made application easier and smoother. And, since it’s conveniently packaged in a small tube, it can be popped in your bag for beauty-to-go. I would not rate this as an essential, but it could be useful, especially for travel. You can purchase all products reviewed and mentioned on BeautyStat.com!
Have you tried any products from any of the latest Korean beauty brands? Will you be trying this item from Touch In Sol?

Did the Avengers 4 Title and Trailer Details Just Leak Online?
Update: A video has surfaced on Reddit that fans are claiming is the leaked Avengers 4 trailer. Like the description that appeared a few days ago, it shows the Infinity Gauntlet lying in a field. However, none of the dialogue or the 30 seconds after that matches the description. In fact, the voiceover sounds suspect as hell. One thing that does match up is the title card, which reads Avengers: Annihilation. Is this real or a very elaborate fake? Watch the video above and decide for yourself.

Original post below:
We're currently in the dead zone of Marvel films. It's been three months since Ant Man & the Wasp and there are still five months until Captain Marvel debuts. That's a lifetime for MCU fans. In the meantime, all there is to do is debate theories and rumors about what is going to happen next.
Over on the r/Marvelstudios subreddit, fans are arguing over the validity of a detailed description of the upcoming Avengers 4 trailer. One user posted and subsequently deleted (possibly a sign it's real) a scene-for-scene summary of what's supposedly a leaked trailer.
Some are calling it bad fan fiction. Others think it's too detailed to be fake. Here's the full text of the leak below, which includes the alleged title of the film: Avengers: Annihilation. It's a title that would support rumors that the next movie will include the villain Annihilus.
You can decide for yourself if it seems real. But keep in mind, this would be a different title from the very promising one that was leaked a few months ago.
The trailer starts off showing the damaged Infinity Gauntlet in a field on the farm planet. As the camera focuses in on the Gauntlet, we hear Tony’s voice: “We were destined to lose.” Epic music score starts
The Quinjet is shown landing in a Wakandan wasteland as we hear Steve Rogers say: “We have come so far.” Tony and Nebula step off the jet as the remaining Avengers approach. Steve has a look of relief and says: “Tony”. Tony, seemingly defeated, shakes his head and gives a friendly smirk back to Cap.

Marvel Studios Logo appears. We get a glimpse of the Battle of New York from 2012 Avengers. Loki is shown looking shocked and baffled as he is on top of the Stark tower. There is a flash of a blue light as the camera pans back. (Cuts to black)
Next we see the Wakandan throne with M’Baku at the helm. He’s surrounded by his new kingsguard. (A mix of the hill tribe and Dora Milaje). Shuri and Banner are seen working on a new project in the lab. Black Widow, in full gear, is in Hawkeye’s family home from Age of Ultron. Basically everything is thrown all over the place and broken. Nat is studying some type of map with multiple photos and locations on it. A quick shot of Thanos is shown with a long sword, walking down an alleyway in New York City.
The next shot is a dark hooded figure with glowing eyes, aiming a bow and arrow before shooting towards the camera. (1-2 visuals of the Quantum Realm) Scott Lang (no suit) is shown running through a park dodging explosions. (Shot of Space) Thor and Valkyrie are aboard a Kree ship. Thor says: “If the stories are true, you’re our universe’s last hope. If such a thing even exists anymore”.
The next shot is an older, determined Tony Stark walking through the new SHIELD HQ’s (Avengers Facility in upstate New York). He’s in full SHIELD attire and carrying an orange briefcase. Banner (wearing spandex) is seen running from something, looking terrified. The next shot is Ant-Man appearing out of a flash of light and landing in a desolate place. We see it from his point of view from inside his helmet. He looks left to right and to his left again and says: “What in the-”. (Camera focuses on Vormir and its stars)

Next, a shot of Rocket and Nebula modifying some new weapons in the lab. Rocket says “When can we try this bad boy out?” They both smile at eachother and fist-bump. We get our first glimpse of Iron Man in his red and gold nanotech armor. Hulk falls from the sky and lands in front of him. Thanos, in full armor, smiles. Hulk smiles back.
The next shot is in Japan. War Machine, Nat, and Steve (in their full Avengers gear) are surrounded by The Yakuza. Hawkeye (Ronin) walks through everybody from behind them and approaches the Avengers. There’s an intense exchange of looks between Clint and Natasha (Next shot is at the Sanctum) Wong is communicating with Dr. Strange’s soul via portal. (Cuts to black)
Grey haired Tony Stark and Ant-Man are in a post-apocalyptic NYC. The screen flashes back and forth multiple times through multiple scenes. We see Captain Marvel floating with her fists on fire and her eyes lit up. Thanos in the soul stone with young Gamora screaming at him Loki and Thor fighting off Chitauri together. And Tony handing Steve a brand new shield in the Wakandan throne room. (Cuts back to Tony and Scott)
Tony opens the orange briefcase as Scott hands him an illuminated bracelet. Tony asks: “How?… Is this even possible?” (Iron Man and Ant-Man are shown travelling through the Quantum Realm. Tony and Scott are back in the battle of New York from 2012. The final shot before the title reveal is an Infinity Stone disappearing from Thanos’ damaged gauntlet. He abruptly gets up and puts on his armor. His face goes from extremely infuriated to a menacing smile.
Title reveal:
Avengers: Annihilation
Stinger:
The Hulk is training at the new SHIELD facility with Black Widow and Steve. Steve notices that Hulk has been training non-stop as of late, so he asks why. Hulk responds in Banner’s normal voice with: “My rematch is coming real soon, I can feel it!”

Seventies Inspired Vegas Elopement with a Seven Month’s Pregnant Bride!
Pia and Chris met through their mutual love of Rock n Roll, when they were both using the same recording studio. Pia ended up joining Chris’ band and they’ve been playing together ever since.
They got engaged on Valentine’s Day and the very next day they found out she was pregnant! They began by trying to plan a big family wedding, with guests from New Zealand (where Chris is from) and the US (where Pia is from) travelling over to the UK (where they now live) but it all proved quite difficult and stressful with a baby on the way. In the end they decided to throw tradition completely out the window and to elope. This also negated the issue of having a religious ceremony. With the bride’s family being Hindu and the groom’s, Christian, they would have probably ended up needing two ceremonies to keep everyone happy, which they really did not want. So, with Pia seven months pregnant they flew to Vegas and were married by Elvis instead!
“Our wedding had a retro and 1970s feel with an old school Vegas vibe”, Pia said. “We are very inspired by the fashion, music and the general feeling of the 1970s so this inspired our wedding too. I love looking at old, classic weddings photos of Mick and Bianca Jagger, Priscilla and Elvis, John and Yoko and the final scene in The Graduate. I also love pictures of the Beatles in India and wanted to bring in some of those elements and my family’s traditions in with the Hindu garlands and the bindi.”
Their ceremony was held at The Graceland Chapel which they followed by taking photographs around the city with their photographer Ashley Marie Myers, ending the night with a private dinner for two at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant overlooking the Bellagio fountains.
“Our ceremony was hilarious and very intimate all at the same time. Basically, Elvis serenaded us with I Can’t Help Falling in Love as he walked me down the aisle. The minister asked ‘Who gives this woman away?’ and he said, ‘I do, Elvis Presley’ in his Elvis way. It was hilarious. And then the minister began his service and then introduced Elvis for another song; Its Now or Never. It was so surreal and hilarious with him singing and the minister dancing at the front. The rest of the service was really lovely and Chris and I exchanged our vows. It was just very chill and all about us making a commitment. Chris is usually not the best at expressing himself so it was really amazing to hear him put his heart on his sleeve. And then the ceremony ended with some Viva La Vegas!”
“The best thing about planning our wedding was keeping it a secret”, she explained. “No-one knew it was happening but us. Chris’ best friend sent us a text on the day from the UK saying ‘Hey what are you up to today?’ and when we sent him some pictures later he couldn’t believe it!”
They didn’t even tell their parents they were eloping, but luckily, everyone was thrilled for them! “At one point Chris’ Mum said to him in a message ‘Please just no Vegas!’ so he was a bit nervous to tell her, but she actually thought it was great. All our family and friends did. Everyone was just really happy for us. No one was upset which was a relief. My Mum passed away last year and the last time I hung out with her I told her Chris and I would love to just elope to Vegas and she said we should totally do it. Its nice to know that I had her approval too.”

8 Easy Things You Can Do to Prevent Hair Fall Out
It's easy to start worrying when you notice hair tangled everywhere: In your shower drain, on the carpet, on your pillows, your outfit, your scrunchies, your brushes, etc. Most of the time, it's nothing to worry about: Some level of hair fallout is normal, especially for women.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Introduce Their Newborn Baby Sussex to the World in New Photos
Baby Sussex has had his very first (and definitely not his last) photo op! The new royal baby, born to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, was photographed with his proud parents at Windsor Castle just two days after his birth was announced. Spoiler alert: he’s teeny tiny and appeared to sleep through his first public appearance, which makes us LOL.
The Sussex family of three posed for photos at the castle, and Harry and Meghan talked a bit about their new lives as (royal) parents. “It’s magic,” Meghan said, adding that she now has “the two best guys in the world.” Adorable! The baby also appears to be a pretty chill dude; Meghan said he’s “really calm” and has "the sweetest temperament,” which bodes well for a life in the spotlight.
The proud parents said they’re not sure who Baby Sussex looks like quite yet. According to Entertainment Tonight, Harry said, “His looks are changing every single day.” The notoriously humorous prince couldn’t resist a joke, adding, “He’s already got a little bit of facial hair as well.” The baby has spent his first few days of life with his parents and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, but the group was about to introduce him to the Queen. No big deal, right? Just another day in a royal baby’s life.
Tumblr media
DOMINIC LIPINSKI/Getty Images
Baby Sussex is seventh in line for the throne, but the media buzz around his parents’ relationship and marriage, followed by Meghan’s pregnancy, means that he’s probably going to enjoy more than his fair share of coverage throughout his life. He's also the first royal baby to have a multiracial heritage; Meghan’s father is white and her mother is African-American, so Baby Sussex has already made a major shift in the royal family.
The baby’s name hasn’t been officially announced yet, but it should be public soon. Until then, we’ve got some ideas in case you’re still puzzling, Meghan and Harry!

The Writer for Les Eaux De Chanel
Photography: Ella Jane
Shot over four days across seven different locations in my hometown of the Central Coast, this was a dream project working with some of my favourite and long time collaborators to create this new short film for Chanel’s new fragrance collection, Les Eaux De Chanel.
What might look like a collection of random scenes, each flashback visually references, in a subtle or completely abstract way, something from the ingredients in the new fragrances to what Gabrielle Chanel drew inspiration from in three cities of great significance to her; Deauville, Biarritz and Venice, which influenced her designs, her career and her life. From her being inspired by her time at the seaside to the men’s clothing she observed at polo matches, we wanted to interpret these inspirations as told through the lens of my wonderful director, Muc Nguyen. Hints of citrus fruits like orange, mandarin and grapefruit, or flowers such as iris and violets were woven into the narrative, with the nostalgic feeling of a summer by the beach you never want to end lingering in the air.
We wanted to capture the feeling and essence of Gabrielle’s freedom, femininity and energetic spirit. She was as unique as these new uni-sex Les Eaux De Chanel scents, and continues to inspire generations to come, whichever way they choose to interpret her.
She loves the sun on her skin.
The sound of crashing waves.
She dreams of the countryside.
She knows she’ll go far.
A light scent lingers.
Finally she is free.

My Beauty Routine: Elizabeth
While it’s fun to read about the beauty habits of celebrities, I find it most helpful to learn about the beauty habits of women who have lifestyles, ages, or budgets similar to mine. In this series, I’ve asked amazing women I know to share their beauty routines. These are women from across the country, different ages, lifestyles, professions, and beauty/skincare priorities.
Name: Elizabeth
Age: 45
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Profession: Diplomat (follow my style adventures on Instagram)
Tell me a bit about your skincare and/or routine.
I am definitely a high maintenance person when it comes to hair and skincare. Now that I'm in my mid-40s, I feel like the time I invest in having well-maintained hair and skin saves me tons of time on a daily basis and lets me leave the house feeling my best (almost) every day.
Evening Routine:
Morning is all about getting my skin ready for makeup. In my current diplomatic assignment I appear on TV and am photographed and I want my makeup to hold up all day and starting with well-prepped skin is key.
Step One is to cleanse. Don't believe the hype that just a water rinse will do it – get the residual product, dead skin cells, and sweat off your skin. Get your circulation going with a little morning face massage with cleanser. I alternate between IS Clinical Cleansing Complex and Omorovicza Refining Facial Polisher.
Step Two is toner and I always use Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I love everything about this and it is the one product (apart from sunscreen, obviously) that I would take to a deserted island.
Step Three is serum and I alternate between IS Clinical Pro-Heal and IS Clinical Hydracool. These are the gold standards of skin care and the Pro-Heal gives me vitamin C to ensure my pigmentation stays in check. I've tried a bunch of Vitamin C serums and always come back to this one.
Step Four is a moisturizing sunscreen. I use Elta MD in the tinted version on my face and the clear version on my neck and chest. One note here that I always take my skin care down my neck and onto my chest. I want to try to avoid having a young(er) looking face and older(er) looking neck and chest. I also chug a big glass of water while I wait for the sunscreen to really settle before I start makeup.
Once my skin is prepped, I do the same makeup routine every day. It has really helped streamline my mornings and ensures I always have the same polished look where you see me and not my makeup. I call it my #facedresscode
I start with my eyes and this takes 5 minutes of my overall 10 minute morning makeup routine.
Primer: I spread a thin layer of Nars ProPrime Smudgeproof eyeshadow base over my entire lid
Liner: I line my upper waterline with Nars Larger than Life Longwear Liner in Via Veneto. This gives my eyes a subtle definition that is quicker than liquid liner. I line my lower waterline with a nude pencil (a makeup artist trip to make the eyes pop) and use the Nars Longwear Liner in the Rue Bonaparte color.
Shadow: I use the Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage quad and do a basic application of the lightest shade all over my lid, a combo of the two middle shades in my crease, and I use the darkest shade with an angled brush to line my upper lid and the bottom third of my lower lids.
Brows: I use Trish McEvoy brow mascara to give my brows good definition. For a long time, I believed that since I have dark brows I didn't need to bother with this but it is a little step that makes a big impact on my finished face.
Mascara: I've tried so. many. mascaras. At all price points from the (ridiculously expensive and so not worth the money $72 Chantecaille) to the over-hyped “Better than Sex” to the iconic pink tube of Great Lash and the winner is L'Oreal's Lash Paradise. Good coverage, no flakes, no raccoon eyes, and a price that means I can replace the tube monthly and always have that fresh mascara feel.
After eyes are done I concentrate on skin. I like a full coverage foundation and am a longtime Estee Lauder Double Wear user. I have tried the Armani, Dior, and Nars full coverage and buildable formulations but always come back to Double Wear. I apply with a brush.
I do a quick swipe of concealer (a mix of Dior Fix-It 2 in 1 Prime and Color Correct in Apricot and Cle De Peau concealer in medium) though I find I need very little post-filler.
Then a quick shadow under my cheekbones with the contour shade from Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Look in a Palate and then a pop of Nars Orgasm blush on the apples of my cheeks.
I finish with a very very light sweep of Make Up Forever HD powder in my T zone to set everything for the day.
Then I do lips. After lots of experimentation (are you sensing a theme!) I have settled on a combo of Trish McEvoy Essential Pencil in nude followed by Tom Ford Lip Color in Spanish Pink. This gives me good staying power and a consistent look that is polished and doesn't have people asking what lip color I'm wearing. I use Buxom Lip Polish gloss in Dolly since I love the minty tingle and can apply it without a mirror for a quick touch up.
Has your skincare and/or beauty routine changed due to age, lifestyle, career, etc.?
The need for a consistent makeup look day in and day out led to the routine outlined above. I used to have drawers upon drawers of makeup and always felt like I was searching for “the right thing.” The decision to move to a #facedresscode was a great choice. I have a small kit now that is always at my fingertips and it has really streamlined my mornings.
What is the best skincare or beauty advice you ever got and from whom?
I am a devotee of British skincare guru Caroline Hirons (check out her blog) and follow her double cleaning instructions every night no matter how tired I am. It has literally been years since I missed washing my face at night, and I think it is one of the reasons my skin is (for the most part) even and predictable. I also see a dermatologist at least quarterly and for DMV folks, I highly recommend Dr. Lily Talakoub and Sarah Walker at McLean Dermatology. From skin checks to microneedling, filler to dermaplaning, I have been really impressed at what they have helped me achieve with skin that was the bane of my teenaged existence.
What is your must-have holy grail beauty or skincare product?
Trentonin .025% for real skin smoothing results and Caudalie Beauty Elixir for hydration and a great “pick me up” spritz.
What is your biggest beauty or skincare regret or embarrassment?
I regret that it took me so long to embrace my fair skin and that I subjected it to ridiculous sunbathing (and even the occasional tanning booth in college – what was I thinking?) I am diligent now about sunscreen every day and am glad that I can (with the help of my dermatology team) reduce the effects of prior poor choices.
What nugget of skincare or beauty wisdom do you wish you could give to your younger self?
Stay out of the sun, get a dermatologist you trust, and establish a makeup #facedresscode

A bright & lovely Islamic wedding in Mombasa, Kenya
Photos by Events By Merida with editing by Alex Medvick Photography
Fatma and Ibrahim were on party number four in their wedding schedule. There had been two smaller celebrations, and then a much larger one in Washington, DC, where the couple currently resides. Ibrahim is originally from Sierra Leone, but most of his family has relocated to the DC area. This final reception was the largest with over 700 guests, held in Mombasa, Kenya.
Planner Events By Merida
Tumblr media
took on the challenge of traveling there, planning within different cultures and new-to-her languages (Swahili and Arabic!), and shared with us their story.
Rihana Decorations took charge of the decor including traditional elements such as the trunks and six foot tall teapots, and a bench they brought in featuring peacock designs. The peacock is a Swahili symbol, and was used on the couple's foil invitations and table numbers. Downstairs at the men's reception, bright draping and a floral arrangement accompanied the thrones for the groom and the bride's male members of the family.
Among Arabic trends, Fatma's style was particularly offbeat. She went for a gold and brown fitted gown with a golden veil. One difference in Swahili weddings from Western weddings is that the couple doesn't see each other for the reception. The men celebrated on one floor; the women on the other.
For the bride's entrance, she dances through the room to the beat of her relatives drumming sticks together. She was joined at the front by the attendees — all 350 of them! What followed was a true party of lunch and dancing. Once the reception was over, the couple and family headed back to Fatma’s family home, where we were able to take photos of the entire family.
One big hiccup: in the days leading up to the wedding, Fatma repeatedly tried to talk to the photographer for the women and was repeatedly ignored. On the day of, both of the photographers (one for the men, one for the women) ghosted the couple. Luckily, both the bride’s sister and planner Merida were carrying decent cameras and were able to capture the day.

Clearing Crazy Closet Clutter
In the article The Truth Is In The Closet, I wrote “There is something so magical and ethereal about coming home to a beautiful and organized home. But cringing when you open a closet door just kills the tune.” This statement emphasizes the importance of having organization in all areas of your home, not just what others easily see. The appearance of your closet can really effect how you feel as well as your productivity throughout the day.
Closets are one of the most challenging areas of a home to organize often because we see them solely as storage units.
If you think about your closet as an active and very functioning part of your home, you will approach how you arrange it much differently. Although outsiders may not see the contents of your closet, you do everyday. Having my closets organized not only allows me to find what I need quickly, but it keeps me in a positive mindset versus criticizing myself heavily for procrastinating.
Disorganization is usually a HUGE sign of long term procrastination.
We currently live in a one bedroom apartment with three closets. (You can see a tour of our home and a few modifications in decor since having our son here.) One is our coat closet in the entry way, the hallway closet is pictured above, and our bedroom closet which I’ve shared photos of in a few of my capsule wardrobe articles. Although none of these closets are very large, they all have the ability to store excessive items that we don’t need if I allow it.
Keeping our closets organized is no small task, yet let me share exactly how I do it.
1. Downsize, Downsize, Downsize
It just makes sense. The less you have overall, the less needs to be put away. Since beginning my minimalist journey, I’ve greatly minimized my personal and our shared possessions in our household. I’ve witnessed the amazing benefits of living with less firsthand.
If I don’t love or use something, I get rid of it. How many of any one particular item do you really need? Being honest with yourself while letting go of the unnecessary will save you a lot of time and space. I’ve shared countless articles on decluttering which I’m sure will help jumpstart your process if you’re interested.
2. Create The Space Before You Are Ready
I like to create the energy in a space even before I am ready to maintain it. In other words, I remove everything from my closet, and only put back the use and loved items that will make my closet look exactly how I want it to. The rest of the items get consolidated in the corner of the room to sort through.
Now mind you sometimes it takes me a few days to declutter the mess, yet I can already see the end result ahead of time. This keeps me extremely motivated to really attack the chaos. It also keeps me on track from keeping too many things which would ruin the tidy end result.
3. Donate & Recycle
Whenever I declutter, I usually fill a few bags for donating. I also create a stack of paperwork for recycling. I find that it is better to get all of these unneeded items out of my home as soon as possible. If I don’t, they usually end up back in the closet which defeats the purpose completely. Having perfect closets isn’t necessary. Yet when you are very busy, being organized just makes it easier to get things done efficiently.
Living with less is living light physically, mentally, and emotionally, and this includes your closets.

Emma Stone Shouted "I'm Sorry" at the Golden Globes 2019 After Sandra Oh Called Out Whitewashing in "Aloha"
The 2019 Golden Globes kicked off with Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg's opening monologue, which included references to some of the night's biggest nominees. They cracked plenty of jokes about Black Panther, A Star Is Born, and Crazy Rich Asians. But it was a particular joke about the Constance Wu-led film that sparked quite the reaction from Emma Stone.
While on the Golden Globes stage, Sandra commended Crazy Rich Asians as being a monumental moment for representation of Asians in film. The Killing Eve actor joked, ["Crazy Rich Asians"] is the first studio film with an Asian American lead since Ghost in the Shell and Aloha." Of course, the latter two have been cemented as some of the worst cases of whitewashing in Hollywood. Scarlett Johansson played the leading role in the anime adaptation and Emma portrayed the character Allison Ng, a hapa (“hapa” is a Hawaiian term for someone of mixed ethnicity) woman of native Hawaiian, Swedish, and Chinese ancestry. Over the years, the two have continually been called out for taking on these parts.
Sandra's taunt got plenty of applause from the Golden Globe audience. But while the cameras were on the two hosts, Emma could be heard off-camera screaming, "I'm sorry!"
The Favourite actor garnered plenty of reactions from those at home watching. Comedian Joel Kim Booster tweeted, "I PERSONALLY ACCEPT EMMA STONE’S OFF CAMERA SCREAMED APOLOGY." Another person joked, "If Emma Stone Venmos me $30 I will forgive her."
This isn't the first time that Emma has addressed the whitewashing in Aloha. "I’ve learned on a macro level about the insane history of whitewashing in Hollywood and how prevalent the problem truly is," she told Australian news outlet News.com.au back in 2015. "It’s ignited a conversation that’s very important."
As damaging as whitewashing in Hollywood has been, seeing it continually called out will hopefully keep it from happening in the future. Now, does anyone know where ScarJo is?

Geekiness, diversity, & authenticity: why offbeat couples are my happy place
This business paid a fee to be listed on Offbeat Bride because they feel their products and services are a great fit with offbeat philosophies… and we agree. Learn more about our ads.
So it was ten years ago that I was planning my own offbeat lite wedding and my husband-then-fiance had a panic attack at a dance lesson to help us figure out what to do for first dance. We thought a dance lesson would help him have less anxiety. It didn’t. I was already a wedding photographer, but nothing I had seen my clients do for their first dance felt like it would be right for us. I Googled “alternatives to first dance” and found Offbeat Bride.
I felt heard. I felt understood. I felt like I found a community that would support me and my spouse. My majors in college were photography and women’s studies, and the Offbeat Empire felt like the best home for me and the best place to grow my business, which was already LGBT-friendly and supportive of couples finding their own path down the aisle.
Milestone Images is also featured in our Offbeat Vendors guide!
I’ve showcased so many of those weddings here, from snowy days, and zombies, and marriage equality in front of the Statue of Liberty, and aerial gymnastics, and elopements and polyamory to pyrotechnics. I just had a three-day weekend last month where I shot three offbeat weddings three days in a row, with a TARDIS surprise entrance and lightsaber portraits, a video gaming theme and old school console station for mid-reception Mario Kart, and a ceremony and celebration focused on love and feminist interpretations of Jewish wedding traditions.
WHOVIANS!
Jedi!
Beating the pants off your brothers at Mario Kart!
All the candid, emotional moments you never want to forget.
Also, the weather finally cooperated so that I could nail this rain shot involving remote triggers and off-camera flash. I’ve been working on this technique since 2016! It finally precipitated the right way and I finally had a couple willing to go out into the misty drizzle in the middle of their reception.
For a photo like this? YAAASSSS
Badass off-camera flash techniques aside, my photography work has become a celebration of diversity and love in all its forms. I love nothing more than witnessing people dedicating their hearts to each other and entwining their lives. I love being able to say, “Look how happy you look. Look how your BFF cried tears of joy during the toasts. Look at how loved you felt in that moment. Look at your grandma on the dance floor; your baby girl as the flower girl in her parents’ wedding.”
It doesn’t matter if you got pregnant before your proposal or if your budget has you doing everything DIY or if you want a blow-out bash with a jaw-dropping Viennese hour. Are you trans, or do you have trans people in your wedding party, and your most fervent wedding day wish is that preferred pronouns respected and dead names not used? Your wedding would not even be my second, third, or even fourth time at that rodeo. In a queer interracial couple? Honestly, at my clients’ weddings? So’s your grandma. You are seen and honored and celebrated and respected. This is your love story, and I’m honored to tell it.
Always a discount for offbeat couples!
You always save 10% when you mention Offbeat Bride. Save 15% when you book with a contract and retainer by December 1, 2018. Save 20% if you and another wedding planning friend/couple book at the same time.
We heart Angela SO hard and cannot recommend her more to any offbeat couple looking for artistry and skill wrapped in a super fun package. Go say hello!

Jessie James Decker Doesn't Care What Critics Think About Her Drinking While Breastfeeding
Singer, designer, reality TV star, and mother of three Jessie James Decker caused a stir last month, when she posted an Instagram photo of herself sipping on a glass of wine while breastfeeding her youngest child. Critics flooded her comments section with statements like, "Why are you drinking while feeding your child? Disgusting.” Another person wrote, “Drinking alcohol & nursing ur baby. Real smart."
But given the 'gram's DGAF caption—"Cheers bitches"—Decker may have suspected there'd be critics before she even posted the photo. Either way, she's standing by her choice now. "I have three children. I know what I’m doing now. And it’s totally OK to toast to a celebration and have a drink while you’re breastfeeding,” she told US Weekly in a recent interview. "After three children I’ve learned about what things to worry about and what things not to worry about and a sip of wine isn’t one of them!”
Still, it's worth noting that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says, per its website, "Not drinking alcohol is the safest option for breastfeeding mothers." Although, "Generally, moderate alcohol consumption by a breastfeeding mother (up to one standard drink per day) is not known to be harmful to the infant, especially if the mother waits at least two hours after a single drink before nursing."
"However," the post continues, "exposure to alcohol above moderate levels through breast milk could be damaging to an infant’s development, growth, and sleep patterns. Alcohol consumption above moderate levels may also impair a mother’s judgment and ability to safely care for her child. Drinking alcoholic beverages is not an indication to stop breastfeeding; however, consuming more than one drink per day is not recommended."
While the issue is divisive for sure, some moms did defend Decker and urged naysayers to steer clear of mommy shaming. “Got to love these mommy haters. They so ‘disgusted’ with your posts yet they still follow you and use their time and energy to comment,” one person wrote. Another encouraged Decker, writing, “From one breastfeeding mama to another, you do you!” Sounds like that’s exactly Decker's plan.

Taco ‘Bout a Good Time: A Colorful Cinco de Mayo Wedding at Brookview Ranch
Megan + Phillip have quite the love story—their proposal involved the two of them jumping out of a plane together and then a ring was presented at the end. I mean, what?! Well, a year after that epic proposal, M+P said their vows at Brookview Ranch on May 5th. Their photographer, Brooke Borough, shares: Since they were having their wedding on Cinco de Mayo, they knew they wanted to incorporate it into their wedding décor. And they totally did just that—looking through the photos you will see a TON of color and culture, from both Phillip’s side, as well as Megan’s.
Megan is a model for Show Me Your Mumu, so they worked with her to create a custom color, exclusive for her wedding. How fun is that? Brimming with brilliant mustard yellows, tons of bright pink bougainvillea, and rounded out by gorgeous blue hues, we have a feeling you might just fall head over heels for their big day, planned by Karen Marie Events.
The Wedding Party
Isn’t that mustard yellow hue STUNNING?! We dig that Show Me Your Mumu has so many different style options, so your ladies can choose their fave, while still creating a cohesive look.
Note: You might recognize one of the bridesmaids—Bri—from the latest season of the Bachelor (she was the gal with the fake Australian accent).
Megan rocked not one, but TWO gorgeous gowns. The first was this lacy Berta gown from Mon Amie Bridal Salon, and the second (you’ll see later on) was a custom gown from Katie May.
The Bloomin’ Bougainvillea Ceremony Space
Here at GWS, we have a *thing* for bougainvillea… Naturally, our jaws dropped when we saw this brilliant ceremony space with florals by Wildflowers Floral Design.
I mean would you look at all those vibrant pink hues?! GORGEOUS!
Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding
The most memorable part of the wedding was our vows. I still cry every time I daydream about that moment. It was as if the whole world stood still and all I could hear was Phillip's voice; all I could see were his quivering lips and all I could feel was the pride and confidence in his voice as he put his heart on his sleeve. As we walked away as husband and wife, everyone I made eye contact with was crying and everyone’s energy was radiating with such love and joy. It wasn’t just the most memorable moment from the wedding, it was the most memorable moment of my entire life.
Our Musical Choices
Processional: Phillip: Truly Madly Deeply played by a family friend; Megan: In Case You Didn’t Know (acoustic version) also played a family friend
Recessional: No Other Love by Common Kings
First Dance: The Way You Look Tonight by Eric Clapton
Are they the cutest, or what?
Megan tells us: I found my inspiration from the colors and prints at Show Me Your Mumu and spun the vibe and theme off the day of the wedding: Cinco de Mayo. Phillip asked me to be his girlfriend on the 5th, his wife on the 5th, and wore the number 5 on his back his entire career as an athlete. When we realized we would be getting married on the 5th of May, I just ran with it and knew my neutral color wedding palette was going out the door. It wasn’t us anyway. Phillip and I are bright and colorful and we wanted our décor to reflect that.
The Newlyweds
Diggin’ Phillip’s look? How we love a blue suit for the groom! Here are some of our faves:
Unfortunately Brookview Ranch was impacted by the recent Woolsey Fire, but they are rebuilding what was damaged, and they’ll reopen in 2020!
We’re definitely pinning that boho meets glam hairstyle Blushing Beauty created for later!
Let’s Taco ‘Bout This Reception
Taco ‘Bout a Good Time—how cute is this acrylic seating chart?!
Phillip’s uncles crafted the teepee and his step-dad made all the other décor: the fruit stand, the seating chart, the table numbers, any and every wood piece he whittled in his little garage shop.
All of the napkins and pillow for the day were made from leftover fabric from the bridesmaids’ dresses. Such a good way to make sure everything goes to good use + to keep the palette cohesive!
Oh, and those darling soap favors? Megan’s aunt, Jenny, crafted them!
Phillip being an athlete and our love story revolving around distance and Phillip’s soccer journey—we had to run though a banner for our reception as husband and wife, naturally. ;)
Big congrats to the both of you! Want to see more of the festive celebration? Take look at this video from Wild + Free Films:

Kylie Jenner and Stormi Just Wore Matching Sweatsuits and the Cuteness Is Unreal
There are many things that the Kardashian family has done for the world, such as popularizing contour and creating an abundance of lip kits. However, the best thing that the Kardashians have blessed us with, IMO, are pictures of their friggin' adorable, big-cheeked babies. And happily this weekend it was Kylie Jenner's turn to bring the squee-factor, and wow, did she and baby Stormi bring it.

Kylie, Stomi, and Kylie's BFF Jordyn Woods were taking a private jet yesterday (as one does), and Kylie took the opportunity to dress her and Stormi in matching gray sweatsuits, white sneakers, and beanies. Thankfully, Kylie Instagrammed the situation:
And of course, she also had to post the 'fits to her Insta stories:
Plus, just because Kylie is a giver, she shared a photo of lil' Stormi in a snowsuit and it's just so precious:

RIP to my heart, which just exploded from the cuteness.
