myehehehee,,, i appreciate the thought either way :DDD !!! i was supposed to travel on april 29th,, right after my bestfriend's birthday - but it changed to about a week earlier due to some sort of complication an' i wasn't told directly by my mom. i just woke up,, was told my mom said something about me leaving "today or tomorrow" and when i asked ((very baffled)),, she said "oh,, she told you? yeah you're leaving either today or tomorrow,, pack your things." which i got pretty upset with sdfusehffusdhkj i managed to get a majority of my bsf's gifts done in around a night and left to travel two days later. to make a SUPER long story short,, i took around a month or two to stop feeling homesick and hurt about having to leave ((due to school being too expensive and having better opportunities in my dad's country)) and another month or two to get used to living here!!!

my school situation was WAY more complicated,,, i did entrance exams and an interview to get into a prestigious (?) school and was told i didn't pass two months later ((the exams were way harder than any other schools' and i was at a horrible disadvantage since my country's education system is far more lax and simple compared to this one's)),, we had to scramble looking for schools and finally landed on three,,, then couldn't make it to one entrance exam and completed another school's and a second school's and decided on the second one 'cause the teachers were super considerate and it was super obvious what the better choice was!!! wowie,, what a MOUTHFUL.

If you are currently unaware of what's going on in Florida:

As recently as June 2025, the Trump administration began construction for a concentration camp dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz" in the heart of the Florida Everglades. It is made up of tents and thousands of beds inside cages, under the sweltering Florida heat.

The Trump administration have praised how isolated this environment is, claiming that the "dangerous wildlife" and "unforgiving terrain" will keep kidnapped people inside. According to Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, if "people get out, there's not much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons." They are thrilled about the abuse and potential death of real people.

The amount of pride they have for a literal concentration camp is sinister. Florida republicans are even selling merch and establishing mascots.

They started detaining people last week, and they are treating them like “rats in an experiment.”

There are protests happening in and around the area. If you can, I would encourage you to show up for your community at one of these protests in South Florida. With that being said, the concentration camp is located adjacent to sacred Miccosukee and Seminole land. Please be mindful of the space.

it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age

it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.

you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.

young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!

Heyo! With pride month starting, here's a quick comic on pride Etiquette, a short guide / general tips on treating lgbt+ people, for the new, curious, and those who forgot!

1) Treat people's identities as the indisputable truth. Even if you don't think they fit the definition, even if you don't understand (the identity), even if you think they're lying, even if they're a bad person. It's not your job nor your business to tell people what to call themselves. Unless they ask for your opinion, only the individual can make that decision.

*There's very few times when an identity can actually be harmful. This includes predatory labels, labels that are bigoted by definition, or people identifying with culture-specific labels when they're not part of that culture. Otherwise, leave them be!

2) Respect and use people's pronouns, regardless of how you feel about them! If you don't know how they work, ask! If you accidentally misgender someone, correct yourself and move on! No need for lengthy or dramatic apologies. However, also make sure to ask when it's appropriate to use them! Someone may not be out to parents, certain friends, etc, and will ask you to purposefully misgender them for safety.

3) LGBT+ people are not responsible for someone else's anti-lgbt+ views! Strange, unbelievable or confusing identities do not cause bigots to be bigots- the lgbt+ community was made because we don't fit society's box, don't fall into the trap of forcing people into another one! If they're not actually hurting anyone, then leave them be!

4) You're not expected to learn every single lgbt+ term / identity. Nobody knows all of them, not even lgbt+ people, so don't worry about it! Simply learn and ask questions as you go!

5) If you're curious about someone's identity, ask if they're comfortable with questions first! There's no harm in educating yourself, but sometimes we get tired of being walking encyclopedias!
