Hmmm. Do you think we ever truly see Kim Dokja?
Normal Guy Dokja, DKoS, WoLaD, Sun Wukong, Angel, OD, Father, reader, leader, listener, speaker.
We see "Kim Dokja", but not Kim Dokja without the parentheses.
We never meet Kim Dokja, not like we meet Yoo Sangah, or Han Sooyoung, or Lee Gilyoung.
ORV is told from his perspective but we never get to truly meet him, because ORV was written by KimCom about a man who never showed his barest soul to even himself.
I guess that's why they need the fragments.

Kim Dokja: If only I hadn't read this novel I wouldn't have become The Most Ancient Dream and cursed everyone I love to exist in perpetual misery. All of these destroyed world lines are my fault.
Han Sooyoung: No, you weren't at fault. You were just a kid who happened to read a shitty novel. I knew exactly what I was doing so the destroyed world lines are actually all my fault for writing them.
Yoo Joonghyuk: I just live here

Correct me if I’m wrong it’s been a while hasn’t ysa read that part of him while in the fourth wall?
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint: Chapter 551:
"Even if Kim Dokja came back to us alive through the story we have crafted, do you truly believe that he will be the real Kim Dokja?"
The remaining one percent of Kim Dokja they couldn't remember.
That Kim Dokja none of them could remember, where would he be left behind in this universe, then?
+++
Oh my god I can finally talk about this theory (iykyk)
Let's say HSY and KimCo managed to grab every fragment of Kim Dokja's stories that they could possibly have access to from the people who knew him.
But there's one huge hole here: No one knew pre-scenarios Kim Dokja at all. Ages 15-mid 20's Kim Dokja is a huge missing piece.
He had no friends. He refused to talk about himself when he visited his mother in prison. Arguably, Han Sooyoung is the one who knew him the most ages 15 to before he got hired at Minosoft. But even then she only got to know what he'd share through DM's at that age.
Anyone who knew him at this age died early on in ORV. His relatives who "took care of him" had an offscreen death (confirmed by lee Sookyoung). His high school bullies were killed too.
But the weirder part is.
Kim Dokja doesn't remember this part of himself either.
There are multiple instances in the novel where he makes a point to express surprise and confusion over his lost memories specifically around this age range.
There's a Kim Dokja none of them remember in the universe, and it's a pretty dang significant part of him.
Tldr; If a Kim Dokja came back by us reading ORV, I don't think he would be a 100% KDJ at all. YJK and HSY knew this. They tried anyways.

The thing about Kim Dokja is that his 'salaryman normal guy' appearance is just as much a false persona as 'monstorous Demon King of Salvation' or 'calm and cool leader of kimcom'.
Despite what he tells us at the beginning (and since when do we take his narration as trustworthy?), he wasn't ever just a normal, boring person, despite his best efforts. He tells us the 'genre of his life' was 'Realism', but if a life could be said to have a genre, his was definitely 'True Crime'.
It's so interesting that even pre-scenarios, he thought of the world in the terms of 'genres' and the people around him as 'characters' (like Yoo Sangah) because of course he would! Even if we discount the way he spends all his time reading and how that shapes how he sees the world, he himself has been a character in his mother's novel and 'a character' is how people see him too. He says he read that novel a thousand times to try and understand his memories until he didn't know what was true anymore. He knows the character Kim Dokja too.
And everyone knew about his past.
Everywhere he went, he was 'the son of a murderer', someone to be gawked at and whispered about.
No one has ever seen him as 'just an average guy' because Underground Killer haunted him every step of the way. Reporters. At school. Even years later at the company he and Yoo Sangah worked at, the rumours of his past had spread (Yoo Sangah was one of the few people who didn't know).
The lack of privacy and stigma that has followed him everywhere is part of why he resents his mother for writing that novel.
Pre-scenarios, he is less similar to you and me than to the families of 'famous serial killers' that get podcasts and documentaries and books written about them and who's private lives are torn apart by media. I'm not naming names, but you already know them.

A character you hate not because they are a piece of shit. A character you hate because you love them so much it hurts when they didnt see themselves that way, you hate that character because they dont know know how much you love them, you know how many sacrifices and sins they made but they always undermine what they do, you know they did it for love but the love is hurt so much it like a stab in your heart, a character who didnt see themselves as how we see them, we cry, beg, crawl out of blood for them to stop doing this to themselves but they pursue into the flames. You know how much suffering, how damaged and broken they are, you just wanted to help them but oh how ironic it is that they forfeit themselves such luxury. You hate the smile that they made eventhough they felt like dying. You hate that character because it’s hurt to love them. You hate that character because it was them who orchestrate this damn ending that they didnt deserve and it shouldnt have ended that way, but who else make such an unfair, cruel choice for such a beloved character other than themselves? You, who paint yourself as a devil in the name of all ,the salvation was there, why cant you accept it?

the orv french translation is pretty good so far, but i have to say, one of the funniest choices they made is to have secretive plotter be called mysterious detractor instead,,, they really said that man does not plot shit, he's more of a shit-talker lmao

Someone please write a fanfic about if SP was his sponsor
I just love Secretive Plotter.
He's a walking, talking dumpster fire. Trash fave. He's the biggest loser in the entire book. He's been hanging around Kim Dokja's channel from the very start and yet still somehow thought it would be a good idea to send Kim Dokja to assassinate Yoo Joonghyuk. He has no idea what he's doing. I guarantee you he himself didn't know why the hell he kidnapped Kim Dokja, so he just went "You're smart, figure it out" while internally going "Nailed it!". He spent pretty much the whole book wearing Kim Dokja's white cloak and a veil waiting for his prince on a white ferrarghini. He made a deal with the devil, then found out he'd sold his soul to himself, fucking up twice and earning a headache that would last 40 000 years. He's one of the very, very few characters to earn an unambiguous happy ending.
Dude's nickname is Secretive Plotter. He is terrible at being secretive and he's shit at plotting.
I'm lowkey pissed we'll never find out what would have happened if Kim Dokja had accepted his sponsorship offer back after the first scenario. Schrodinger's Ouroboros. The disaster that we've lost.
