Saluton!
Mia nomo estas Atlaso, kaj mi lernas Esperanto! Mia pronomo estas ri en Esperanto, kaj they/them en la Angla.
Mi ankaux lernas la Hispana, sed mi sxatas Esperanto pli ol la Hispana. Mi estas Usonano, kaj mi parolas la Anglan.
Mi lernas malrapide; pardonu :(.
Mi volas diri pli, sed mi ne povas ke.
Krokodili (en la Anglan):
Hi!
I'm Atlas, and I'm learning Esperanto! They/them, Ri, and Elle pronouns depending on the language, please! I'm going to be 23 in a month, and I'm a college/uni student (part-time, transitioning to full-time, and about to start on my Bachelor's, maybe?)
I'm from the United States and my native language is English, but as my dad is Nicaraguan, I've been trying to learn Spanish for years. I bumped into Esperanto more than once before giving it a try, and I've loved it. The lack of true grammatical gender is a plus.
As you may have noticed, or if you understood my odd phrasing, my vocabulary is still lacking, but I'm trying hard to work on it!
As for why I'm working so hard: I met a fellow autistic person in an autism discord server who is (presumably) fluent in Esperanto. This person (whose pronouns I sadly forgot), when I mentioned an appreciation for the conlang, invited me to another server for a Twitch streamer who does streams in different languages, but the beloved fan-favorite language is Esperanto! It's a lovely little community. In the Esperanto-only channel, "Malkrokodilejo", I have a hard time understanding what they say, sadly.
So my goal, at the moment, is to learn enough Esperanto that I can understand them in the No-Crocodiling channel, and communicate effectively in the language.
I am fluent in: English
Learning with a good grasp of phonics and minor conversational ability: Esperanto and Spanish
Know a few words/phrases in (even if the pronunciation sucks): French, Swedish, German, ASL, Toki Pona, Russian.
I would love to master: Esperanto, ASL, Spanish, and French (almost in order, though ASL and Spanish are tied).
As mentioned previously, I have AuDHD (autism+ADHD)
Learning with: Duolingo, Drops, Lernu.net, and sometimes Clozemaster.
