This is Love
Demetri pov
I never thought of leaving the Volturi.
Not ever in my hundreds of years. But these walls started to feel restricting. Aro's voice during sentencings felt like nails against metal, so did Jane's, Alec's and Caius's. And Felix I was almost at the point of throwing him across the room everytime we were together which at times I did. Which if anything he only found it amusing that added to my annoyance of him further. Then there was Heidi.
"You never visit me anymore Demetri, why is that?" She whined seductively in my ear, her hands all over me but I didn't budge. She'd been almost..I dare say clingy for weeks.
"Heidi we had a good run, but I think it is time we should find other engagements" I step back from her and move around her. She stood there shocked as I ended a hundreds of years affair with a single sentence. But I felt nothing as I did it.
As I did it I wasn't thinking of Heidi..I was thinking of Nina. She is what consumed my thoughts for weeks now. Everytime I was in these halls, with my colleagues all I thought about was her. A resentment was starting to grow in me towards the Volturi. That they were taking up my time that I could spend with her.
The precious time I had to hear her laugh, see her smile and listening to her speak for hours about the different arts of the world. I've come to the point I don't want to be without her. I've come to the point..that I need a watch.
I'm standing there at another bloody meeting about the search for vampires with shield abilities and if I have to listen Caius's whining for one more moment, I will- "Have somewhere to be Demetri" I froze, thankfully it was Felix low in ear. Me and him were mostly ignored at these meetings. I've already been found unsatisfactory with the search because I track a person with something of substance not thin air and wants of masters.
"No" I bit out because I actually did have somewhere to be, Nina wanted me to explore Italy's club life with her. I told her I'd find her like I have the past couple times and I get the enjoyment of being called a stalker or the usual one are you a mafia prince? Nina's had many guesses about my life more amusing than the last.
"Well if you don't stop fidgeting someone might think you're guilty of something or running late" He hums in my ear toying with me I could tell my shoulder involuntary flinching up nudging him away.
"I do not fidget" I say almost insulted by the accusation.
"Usually no, you are Usually a perfect stick in the mud..still and straight but lately not so much" I roll my eyes feeling him lean against the wall behind me "Now what is your foot doing?" A tapping sound comes to my ears and stops when I pause. I didn't even know I was going doing that.
"Along with the furrowed brow and clenched jaw. And I've never seen you look so tense" He suddenly grabs at my shoulders "Come on demetri, spill the beans" He whispers rhythmically his nose nudges my ear. But all I heard was meeting is concluded making me the first to head out making Felix nearly fall over from leaning on me.
Nina's Outfit

It didn't take me long to find her downtown and when I did..I almost wish I didn't at the sight of her making my mouth water. Almost.
I lightly tapped her on the shoulder, making her turn. She instantly smiled which made mine widen.
"Do you have an apple airtag on me or something" She grins wrapping her arms around me. I keep my hands placed firmly behind my back as she had no idea of the war I went through everytime I was with her. This would be our seventh date far past the expectation of a kiss or heaven has truly forsaken me..making love but I've been restraining myself.
"I just follow the scent of delicious strawberry lemonade body mist and the in tune hums of who did you say..Lana Del Rey" I muse leaning in my nose into hers making her giggle.
"Hmm I don't know whether I should be creeped out that you were a man of your word saying" She grabs my hand as she spoke while I look at her with probably a look of pure adoration "I'll find you anywhere" She says in a very stiff voice in her best impression of me "or find it adorable that you're retaining things about me" her lips perched up at the sides as she looks down at her pretty black heels.
"Shouldn't I be retaining things about you? We are dating after all" I say obviously as my eyes roam over her, thinking how glad I am how evening wear as changed over the years.
"Yes you would think that's bare minimum right? But you are way past bare minimum standards like you were written by a woman" She smirked at my knitted eyebrows by the expression.
"Maybe I have been" I thought of the phrase and the many women of my life that molded me to..be me I suppose.
"Hmm" She smiled "well you would think most men would be..coming from a woman..what's your mom like? You never talk about your family" She inquired lightly but she saw the complete indifference in my face making her raise an eyebrow.
"She died a long time ago, they all did. If I'm honest I don't even remember what they look like.." I shrugged having not thought of them in hundreds on years.
"I'm sorry..were you-" I pull her into a random bar "this looks lively" the bass was close to antagonizing but I've been ducking any awkward conversation topics for weeks and this was a prime example.
"You can reciprocate, I got delicious taste, you need a woman's touch in your place. Just protect her and keep her safe" a shiver went down my spin as Nina sang the lyrics of the horrid song in my ear but coming from her lips, they were angelic.
"Baby, worship my hips and waist, so feminine with grace, I touch your soul when you hear me say" She spinned around with her back, her hips against my chest, my..I bit my lip hard as my nose nuzzled into her hair. Her scent made me tense, her body made me throb. My hands going into fists, if I touch her its over.
"Boy, let me be your woman" She turned around and whispered into my lips before her mouth opened mine and claimed it. I was somewhat taken back. She had crossed the boundary. She had made the first move. She had made me completely undone.
We moaned into each other's mouths as she pulled at me to be closer. She was making it very hard for me to control myself. But I had to even if I didn't want to at this moment. I wanted to claim her in my own way. My lips slowly peppered at her chin and her jawline. I probably seemed very human as I forced myself to inhale even though forgetting to exhale. I couldn't unclaw my hands as they laid at her hips that were still moving to the music. This made a low growl come from me as my lips, my teeth, my tongue finding the vein that was perfectly curved to her neck as it led down to her clavicle. My mouth opened about to make the gravest most lustful mistake.
"It's so pretty at night" I froze, my throat restricted, I flew my head up to where she was looking.
"I love starry lights" The way she looked at them baffled me. In anything she saw, things were beautiful.
"Do you like them-" She paused when she saw the way I looked at her. I saw the lights reflected in her eyes. That's what made them beautiful to me.
"Yes very much so" I didn't move as I completely painted her in my mind in this moment. Her eyes, hair, skin glowing in this practically dinghy club. I never wanted to forget her in this moment. Over the centuries you forget so many things but I never want to forget her. Our moments together. I'd rather die than forget her. I'd rather die than be the reason she is forgotten.
I can't stop looking at her clavicle, the place moments before I was going to sink my teeth into. And in this club no one wouldve noticed or cared. No one or anything to hold me accountable for the murder of something so beautiful. For the first time in a thousand years..I hated myself for what I almost did.
"Demetri" My name came softly from her lips making to start to take off my jacket.
"Are you cold" I said more of a statement than a question before she could answer I had wrapped it around her securely covering the place I wanted the most.
She stared at me in confusion before she started laughing.
"Now Demetri if you like modest women, that could be an issue for the relationship" Nina giggled making me smirk.
"Far from it love" I leaned close and placed a painfully chaste kiss to her lips. She perked up an eyebrow at me playfully making me eat my words trying not to grimace.
"Come this can't be the only place we grace with our presence tonight" She smiled cheerily with my fingers becoming entwined with hers.
I could never share my thoughts with her. That I never realized being with a human woman would be the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life.
I could and would endure for her.

Part 3
You Smell Awful
Note/spoiler/warning I guess: Chapter contains an Innocent Alicent being a unintentional perv then Ivar being a very intentional full on perv.
"Did you sleep well?" Alicent said more of as a courtesy than a question finding Ivar in the same place she left him the night before.
Sitting against the wall menacingly staring at her. He didn't answer.
"Follow me" She sighed out, knowing he was going to be difficult but despite that she heard the dragging noise that came with him. Guards followed, Ivar looked at them coldly as Alicent tried to ignore them. She hated being watched.
Ivar noticed a book, she was holding in front of her.
A cross on its front. It made him almost growl making Alicent give him a pointed look like he was a child. She's going to be annoying was Ivar's only thought making him roll his eyes, staying at her side. She was taking him to the courtyard. Whispers followed them on the walk there. Servants and peasants whispering and gossiping as they watched them together.
Alicent finally taking a seat somewhere in a corner. She ignored the stares and voices.
Ivar was used to such things, he noticed the christian girl wasn't too phased by it either. Or so it seemed.
Alicent took deep breaths through her nose, opening the Bible. She felt Ivar beside her, improperly close. Breath just breath, he's just a heathen and who cares of the words of peasants and servants. But each inhale of her nose started to become more and more difficult. More and more vile until her head followed her nose to the source.
"My goodness" She gave out an exclaimed whisper, her head going by Ivar's neck making him slowly flinch away in confusion.
"You smell awful" She kept her voice down saving him embarrassment even though she was speaking in his language and he didn't care. Himself slightly laughing and looking at her like she said the most obvious statement she could make.
"Come with me" She got up, taking him somewhere. She gave him her first pitiful look that made him look at her mockingly. This is why she pities him? Not because he's a cripple but because she thought he smelled. He was in complete humored disbelief. She took him to a large room.
"Gentlemen wait outside will you" Alicent said sweetly as she closed the doors in the guards faces before they could interject. Ivar looked around the room curiously. The pillars that surrounded a pool of water in the middle.
"Get in, I will not watch you" Alicent made a hand gesture towards the pool like she was ushering in an animal. Ivar dragged himself towarded the edge looking down. It was too deep. He sat against one of the pillars. Dipping his hands, then rubbing them against his neck.
Alicent turned around, her eyebrows knitted "What are you doing?" He ignored her.
"I thought you heathens had no modesty... you can go in with your underclothes and I promise you I have no interest in looking" She tried to sound reassuring thinking that was the cause of his reluctance but this only made Ivar snicker.
Ivar looked her straight in the eyes, leaned against the pillar and stayed unmoving. Alicent huffed out, muttering to herself going out the door. Ivar smirked thinking she left him to him to his own devices. He looked around there was only one exit and the windows were too small. He didn't have much time to think with the door opening again. She came through with a bucket filled with items, that Ivar didn't bother to look at turning from her.
"Well" She said more to herself as she took bottles and clothes out from the bucket "Athelred's clothes probably won't fit but they will have to do for now."
Ivar heard her movements but didn't look until he jumped at the feeling of a wet cloth of his face. His eyes looking at her wide, she was inches from him.
"If I'm to save your soul then how can I stand by and let you have the smell of a dog" Alicent said bluntly with a pleasant smile. Ivar's eyes bore into her as she gently cleaned his face.
She did it so throughly, even getting behind his ears. Moving to the back of his neck. Ivar almost had the most depraved thought she was making a pass at him but her eyes, her eyes he couldn't figure out. There was no lust or ill will in them nor was there in her touch. But was there in his?
When Alicent looked up at him, his eyes were so intensely looking at her. She involuntarily giggled making him look down. She paused for a moment, looking at him blankly. He was just a boy. Her hands slowly went to his shoulders.
Ivar's eyes went wide and his mouth started to open then close repeatedly. She was taking off his vest then had his tunic that felt stuck to his body after not being removed for weeks.
Alicent neatly folded them both beside the pillar even though she planned on throwing them away later. She kept her eyes lowered as she rinsed and soaked the cloth in the water before started at his collarbone. She felt his eyes on her every move.
"Why are you doing this?" His words cutting the air's tension, making her eyebrow pique but her head did not rise.
"I'm suppose to help you" Alicent said simply, staying at his upper body and his arms. Trying to keep her eyes averted from his lower chest.
She was somewhat shocked by how toned he was. Most boys his age didn't look how he did.
He had the body of a man, not a boy.
"You're supposed to convert me to your God how is bathing me, supposed to do that hmm? You're acting like a servant" He scoffed crossing his arms over his chest that looked in a way to be covering himself.
Alicent scrunched up her nose now being forced to look at his stomach and abdomen.
Well forced was a strong word.
"Or maybe you have very unchristian reasons for this intrusion, what ...like what you see christian?" He slithered onto her, his arms now at her sides. This made her turn away leaning back almost towards floor. She felt his breath on her neck, this wasn't right. No. She wouldnt cower to this heathen. Her body started to straighten, it got closer to his. She would not let him poison her mind. She faced him meeting his eye. He had the bluest eyes she ever saw.
" Last supper, The devil had prompted Judas, to betray Jesus." Alicent placed her hand on Ivar's chest. His breath stopped. He titled his head at her questionly. She gulped as she knew he was something to be reckon with. She always knew from the moment she met him yesterday. She knew by his eyes, his demonic blue eyes.
" Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God" She told it like a story, a story that lulled him slightly she thought. Her hand pressed against his chest pushing him back down against the pillar. He let her. She never broke eye contact until, she soaked the cloth again.
" So he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him." She recited as she started cleaning muscles of his torso. She let out a sigh as she did. Trying to get a singular thought out of her head... he didn't look like other boys.
She wouldn't allow herself to sin.
"He came to Simon Peter, who said to him-" "You're strange and boring cristian" Alicent shot up looking at him offended by him whining out his insult as if she was torturing him.
"I was merely answering-" "I don't care" Ivar didn't even look at her as she looked at his completely flabbergasted by his rudeness.
"Turn around I have to get your back"Alicent said in a monotone voice as Ivar didn't even look or respond to her statement. Ivar was done following this girls strange christian behavior.
Alicent had enough throwing the cloth on the floor.
"Do you think I want to do this? Do you think I want to be here with you? Do you have any idea how my-" Alicent stopped herself from bringing up her father, who had given hell over this arrangement over breakfast. But when it came who's orders she was going to follow, her grandfather's came first. She breathed in and out. Her eyes closed, her face clenched in place.
Ivar thought he had finally broken her by being uncooperative and he started laughing.
That was the last straw, Alicent let out an uncharacteristic growl of aggravation before suddenly pushing Ivar into the water "I've had it with you heathen" Alicent got up crossing her arms turning her back to him until she heard the frantic splashing.
She slowly turned around "boy.." She saw him struggling underwater. Was this a trick? She slowly went to the pool, looking over the edge.
He was drowning.
She frantically stripped to her shift, jumping in.
He was screaming underwater, he was terrified.
Alicent's heart ached at the sight. She wrapped her arms around him, trying to hold him up but he was heavy. She tired to prop him up, his legs would not do it and the boy was freaking out. Alicent pulled him over to the wall with much difficulty.
Ivar immediately clung to it when he reached it.
Alicent pulled herself up to sit on the edge by him"I'm sorry I did not think-"
"Of course you did not think you stupid cristian ..you couldve killed me" Ivar yelled at her facing the floor but Alicent didn't move a muscle.
"Me a stupid christian girl almost killed one of the great sons of the legendary Ragnar Lothbrok?" Alicent said mockingly insulted by his tone towards her. She perceded to ignore him ringing out her hair, loudly mumbling to herself in anger about getting wet.
Ivar genuinely thought he was going to drown this stupid cristian girl, his mouth going into a sneer before he looked at her. His jaw dropped.
Ivar's eyes landed on her body. Her body that was completely visible to him through her soaked shift. Her body was fuller than he would've expected. He didn't expect her very round chest and hips. His fists clenched together, his eyes lowering at the crease in the soaked cloth between her crossed legs. His mouth went dry from being open so long then he felt a constriction below. His face scrunched up as looked down at himself. How could this happened? And out of all the girls?
"You know you could swim if you wanted to?" Alicent looked down at him questioningly, his mouth agape and his eyes dazed. His body language on the other hand looked angry. She was trying to diffuse the situation.
"What?" Ivar snapped out, very uncomfortable physically and now being back under her gaze.
"It's how you're able to get around with just your arms, you could do that with swimming as well" Alicent said gently, the boy rolled his eyes like she said the most idiotic thing ever.
"You know move your arms in a circular motion at your sides" She tried to demonstrate in the air childishly as he dismissively waves her off.
He turned around leaning his back against the wall, his triceps then the rest of his arms sprawled out at the edge keeping him up.
Alicent eyed him, letting out a little "hm" before getting back in the water.
Ivar flinched at her passing. She went to the middle of the pool just far enough away from him.
"Filthy disgusting heathen" Alicent shouted at him "now do you see what my arms are doing" she said sweetly as she was fully capable of standing but was showing the boy the arm movement.
Ivar at first only scrunched up his face and raised his eyebrows at her before turning away in annoyance.
"What is your name heathen" Alicent asked simply realizing she didn't know it.
"Ivar" He gritted his head tilted in a mocking tone before his eyes met once again with her very full breasts. This girl had the body of a woman Ivar smirked to himself, his eyes not looking away.
Alicent did not have one depraved thought in her head that she was thinking Ivar was actually paying attention now to her arm movements because what could he be looking at so intently.
"Now Ivar disgusting foul smelling ugly heathen watch my arms and swim over here" Ivar was intensely watching Alicent's nipples hardening bobbing in and out of the water with every movement. He was panting and at the point of aching until he focused on one word.
"You think I'm ugly?" Ivar's eyes darkened looking at her eyes now, his fists clenched while his body involuntary rolled.
Alicent thinking her plan was working thought she should say yes because it would continue to rouse him but then a thought crossed her brain.
It was a sin to lie.
The pause made Ivar smirk to the point his teeth showed. And then Alicent thought of it in a different way.
"Yes, yes I do" as a person Alicent thought .
Ivar's smirk faded and he looked down, Alicent felt bad to the point but pushed it down. She splashed him.
"Come don't you want to drown me heathen" Alicent persisted and Ivar glared at her. His silence was frightening but she was not afraid and she realized something might push him further.
"You ugly harmless cripple-" She screamed at one splash of muscled arms towards her that made her do one deep back stroke that got her at out of the pool. Ivar did another movement with a growl and saw the girl smiling. Was she mocking him? He did another movement that got him out of the pool about to bludgeon her head into the stone floor.
"Ivar you swam" He looked at her face and paused. She was smiling at him and it wasn't mockingly. She tilted her head looking over his shoulder as he was only arms length from her.
"That wasnt-" He shook his head in disbelief at her but she stopped him. Looking at where she was looking, the edge he was at before and where he was now.
"Three strokes, if it was one I would agree with you but it was three" She giggled and he just leaned on his arm, shaking his head. Not noticing she was looking everywhere but him.
"I was going to kill you" Ivar said honestly and Alicent froze for only a moment.
"Huh...I taught you how to swim and self-control all in a matter of minutes" She laughed dryly while Ivar's eyes glowed at her. She laughs in the face of death.
"I think that is the end of our lesson for today" She quickly gets up "the guards will bring you back" and with that she leaves with blue eyes following her.
Ivar just laid himself out on the stone. And he laughed, all he do was laugh.
She laughs in the face of death.

❤Ivar the boneless x oc Princess Alicent of Wessex
"Everyone wonders why I fell in love with Ivar. Was it the new and unknown of him? Was it the darkness of him? No.. People don't understand how it was in Wessex... I fell in love with the boy. I fell in love with the boy that laughed. I fell in love with his passion about his gods and his culture. I fell in love with the way he looked..at me. I fell in love when we talked..and argued for hours. I fell in love when he mocked and teased me mercilessly. I loved the boy not the viking. I was naive to think they weren't the same"

Only We Matter Series

Part 12

Stupid Little Girl
Penelope pov
Note: Will have Luca redemption part coming out at some point.
I can't believe he did it. When Tommy came out into the ring I was surprised. I kept repeating to myself "it can't be true." But when Polly whispered in my ear that Arthur was dead confirming what Tommy was saying I was in shock. But I didn't understand why I was. I told Luca to go to Alfie Solomons. Me and Alfie were friends I knew he would help him for his own personal reasons. But he said he was going to kill Tommy...not Arthur. As soon as I could I went to the hotel for what purpose I don't know. I was just angry that he killed Arthur. Angry that he didn't tell me. I was beside myself when i finally was able to get away to the hotel. The minute I walked through the door the sight only made me angrier. He looked up from his desk with his eyes and face of cold indifference. But then he looked into my eyes.
"Penelope-" He slowly met me around the desk meeting my slap across his face. He stilled before turning to me with eyes that scared me but I wasn't going to back down.
"You said it was going to be Tommy...not Arthur" I slowly sobbed out.
"Why does it matter who it was?" He seethed standing up straight towering over me.
"Because Tommy caused all this not Arthur" I started to cry.
"My Vedetta isn't just with Tommy it's with all the Shelbys and you know this. You agreed to it" There was a deathly calm to his voice.
"And I thought we agreed to be in this together..why didn't you tell me it would be Arthur?" I trembled at the thought of the answer.
"I thought you wouldn't have the stomach for it" I stepped away from him making me suck a breath in out of disbelief..
"The stomach? Do you think I had the stomach when you murdered my brother John" His face darken as I finished the sentence.
"I gave you the option to leave before things could get uglier" He pulled me towards him but I shoved his hand away. I turned away from him scrunching up my face with tears flowing down it.
"You stayed. You knew what was going to happen." He growled reaching for me again more aggressive this time.
"ARTHUR DIDNT DO ANYTHING" I screamed hysterically making him grab me by the face.
"Your whole family did something to me. Your brothers brought my father to Tommy to butcher him and Arthur pulled the trigger. Arthur has my family's blood on his hands just like all of you do" He growled angrily pushing me down on the ground unintentionally when he stepped back. His grip hurt...it was going to leave a bruise I'd have to cover with powder. The words hurt worse. They showed that he saw me no differently than the rest of them. I could tell he started to process what he said as looked at me but his face remained numb.
"I've been a fool this whole time haven't I-" I cried out from the ground as he hissed loudly.
"You're just a little girl in a very big-" I started laughing hoarsely as I cried cutting him off, making him look at me in confusion.
"Is that what you see me as a naive little girl that doesn't know any better? I'm not too naive or young for you to fuc-" The words I seethed out getting off the ground landed me right back on it with a loud hard slap that would definitely leave a bruise. He let out a ragged scream as my face hit the ground.
"I don't need this...I don't need you" Another bullet to hit my heart as I raised myself from the ground again.
"I'm...so stupid" I said weaker this time, it was pitiful "I knew...I knew this wasn't going to work bu-but I-" I was breathless trailing off muttering almost to myself. Luca stood there still as a statue, face hard and jaw clenched.
"I should ha-have known better" I barely managed to say as I wiped one last tear from my face. Luca still hadn't said a word, made a move or even looked as if he let out a breath.
He was completely emotionless, complete indifference. I wanted something deep down I wanted to know he still cared for me...he still loved me.
"But it doesn't matter now. I'm to marry Bonnie Gold tomorrow. He won the match, he's a good man" I stood high as I tried to say the words in the most spiteful manner I could muster. Luca made a move towards me making me flinch back but continued forward grabbing me. He pulled me in front of the mirror standing behind me.
"And there is my wedding present to you" He growled as I saw my face bruised in my reflection. I sobbed at the sight. He let my body drop to the ground as he left the room.

La Tua Cantante Series
Part 2
Language
Alec pov
Note: "Quotations means Aisling signing" and no Quotations with writing like this are her thoughts.
"What are you doing?" Jane walking into Alec room surveying all the books around him. The titles completely perplexed Jane, Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law, every books with the same author of Helen Keller and on sign language.
"What does it look like I'm doing" Alec only lifts his eyes up for a second from his book as Jane goes behind his chair.
"It seems like you're researching subhumans" She chuckled looking down at the book he was currently reading Being Seen: One Deafblind Woman's Fight to End Ableism "I've never given much thought that their species could get even lower."
Alec merely shrugs as Jane leans down to him "why such the new found interest, is this why you've been locked away in your room all day."
Alec didn't know whether he wanted to tell Jane. He didn't even really know his own feelings on the matter. But he knew he didn't want Jane involved at the moment.
"Just something that piqued my interest" Alec tried to sound nonchalant but Jane knew he was lying to her. She stepped back from him confused. He's never lied to her.
"Hm" Is all Jane could muster as she stared down at Alec who was disinterested in her presence.
"Well.." Jane grinded her teeth not knowing what to say and a shock starting to set in. She didn't understand the reason behind this study.
"Will that be all Jane?" Alec said deciding to look at her.
"I suppose" Jane seethed calmly though the steam could be seen coming out of her ears as she stomped away out of the room.
Alec was surprised how he felt himself relax once she left. He never kept secrets from her but he felt a strange protective possessiveness when he thought of the pathetic little thing, who's bag sat in his desk drawer.
He'd been watching her for weeks. She hadn't left the hotel without her study abroad group since she got back from the hospital. And even if she wasn't with the little ants, she always had her two guide dogs with her.
He would go to see her and watch her from a distance until he started to get the nerve to get closer. He would return her purse he decided, it would be the gentlemanly thing to do. She was sitting a park with a red covered book and her dogs at both sides of her, it was sunset. The study group was playing a frisbee game at the other end of the park.
He came to the bench and her female dog immediately got up, trying to pull her to leave.
The other dog again protected her from him, making him smirk as he stood up on the bench barking. She placed her hands on the dog calming it down that she moved it to the other side of her next to the dog that was trying to leave.
She was a very perplexing creature to him. She looked in his direction and when he sat down her head moved to where he was. She didn't look afraid. He put her bag next to her and leaned against the bench.
"Are you an angel?" She signed, Alec actually had been reading up on asl. He understood she was asking him a question and thought it had something to do with a bird by the last sign. It made him laugh until he felt her fingers on his hand and flinched back. He looked at her horrified as her expression was curious. He couldn't believe she touched him. She sighed sadly. He realized she was trying to communicate with him but this is the first thing in his life, he found himself lacking.
He needed to learn bloody sign language.
Alec just sat there in silence, he felt anger at that he felt inadequate. Fidgeting and stomping his feet, crossing his arms, Alec didn't know how to handle his emotions with this. Since he's been a vampire, he's never not been able to do something.
Aisling & Alec pov
Aisling felt him move. The bench, the ground, his force in which he moved was stronger than most. He was very frustrated, she hoped maybe it was because he couldn't communicate with her, and not her.
I tried but maybe he doesn't like to be touched she thought. She got an idea.
Alec's light tantrum was interrupted when it looked like a light bulb visibly went off in the human's head, her body straightened and her lips perked. Alec raised his eyebrows as she went into her backpack. He let out a little chuckle when she pulled out a miniature chess board.
She crossed her legs on the bench, opening the game. She felt for a black king and a ivory queen, pulled them out and held them out to Alec.
Alec tilted his head at her. She held the pieces like a question but the question seemed too obvious. He could've been wrong though, he took the King.
Hmm a boy, but his weight makes me think he's older. He might be a man, let's see how he plays.
They played and she wasn't half bad... if she wasn't up against Alec. He enjoyed watching her think, she carefully planned each of her moves. She had to feel where all the pieces were. She actually impressed him in a way. He would think because she was blind that she was at a disadvantage but she proved him wrong if again, she wasn't up against him. He was toying with her, he's played this game so many times that he could counter every move.
I would say he was ninety if I hadn't slightly felt his hand. Am I playing with a chess prodigy? Or is he a archangel or demon that's lived a thousand years and spent all those years playing chess. Aisling's mind was very fantastical. But she did spend most of her time reading books. She was reading Romancing Mr. Bridgerton and a book she would rather get back to with how the game was going. She smiled maybe Ill have a romance with this stranger. Ha, my idea of romance is playing chess with a male stranger who's currently winning mercilessly. But he did save my life.
Alec pov
Alec stared at her the entire time, wondering if she even knew. Suddenly her smell started to make his throat constrict. This is the longest he's every been with a human in this close of a proximity. The smell of her, filled his nose and he started to become painfully aware of it. It didn't smell like meat or an animal like he usually compared to the human smell. Her's was sweet, he could taste it in his mouth.
Why did this happen so suddenly? It just hit him but he didn't want this to happen. He wanted to stay with her. He didn't understand what was happening, is this what happened when you were with a human too long? He really looked at her now, analyzing her. Her unique eyes, her cute pixie hair and her pink lips. Maybe that is where he would take the first- stop he needed to stop..
One move he took her king and got up.
Instinctively he went into a run.
What is this? Why was he allowing the burning feeling of not feeding on her? She's food. But he couldn't go for the kill. He never had a feeling of two sides inside him. One telling him to keep running get as far away from her as possible and the other telling him go back to rip her apart. Was one side a conscience? If he was human he'd be panicking but he wasn't he was Volturi. Running from a human.
He screamed angerily making it to the hallway of the entrance corridor of his home.
"Alec what is it?" Heidi happened to be there, her eyes wide, terrified. Alec Volturi never showed emotion, let alone blind rage. He was always calm and collected. He pushed past her, "Get me someone to eat now" he made it to his room.
He destroyed it, over 900 years of items gone in a matter of minutes. He sat there, thinking of her. Pondering until through grunts, groans and banging his head on the wall, he finally came up with the answer. The unspeakable answer. That pathetic little thing. How could that pathetic little thing be the one?
Alec gave the most quiet whisper "Mio cantante."

Part 2
Ecbert's Plan
Note: When its written like this its Norse. Alicent was taught how to speak different languages and Ragnar taught Ivar to speak English on the ship to England.
Ivar thought his captivity with his father would be unpleasant obviously or worse boring.
That changed after the christian girl, she stirred something in Ivar that he didn't know he had. She was fierce he thought, in her own way. Well thats how she seemed until she came to visit again.
The girl from the morning seemed to be gone, now a meek thing stood in the doorway. Her face lacked all emotion as she stood tall with hands neatly folded hanging down in front of her.
"Come with me" She said stiffly, keeping her eyes down. Ivar looked between her and Ragnar. Ragnar lazily got up and Ivar followed.
She lead them as guards followed. She kept her head forward and high. While Ivar dragged himself in the pace in which she was walking.
He watched her analyzing what was different about her. Her face was blank but her hands were fidgeting down in front of her as she walked.
She was picking at the cuticles painfully. She looked dazed but not nervous. Even though he thought maybe she learned to control her face but not her hands, that made him scoff. Her eyes finally looked down at him blankly as he looked back at hers challengingly. The guards opened the hall doors breaking their contact.
"Friends" Ecbert echoed smiling "Thank you my dear for bringing them" Alicent only gave a curt nod before sitting down next to him and across from her father who looked less than pleased.
"Please sit" Ecbert motioned Ivar and Ragnar to end of the table. They did so slowly eying the noble family of Wessex. Ivar stared at Alicent from the end of the table to hers, she stared right back completely unperturbed. It amused him.
"I thought these were our prisoners" Prince Aethelwulf griped "Yet they sit at the same table as my children."
"Yes your children, you see I had a fantastic idea after Alicent's little trip to the cells" Ecbert nonchalantly interrupted his son while Alicent distinctly lowered her eyes to her lap not wanting to face anymore of her father ire for her indiscretion.
"Since Ragnar's son is young around Alicent's age and a cripple, seemingly harmless" Alicent raised a brow at the statement, sparing a glance at the two vikings. Ragnar understood everything and seemed very amused while Ivar had no idea what was happening but the horrified facial expression of Prince Aethelwulf made him laugh.
"I want Alicent to try to convert him" Alicent forced her laugh down her throat as her father looked enraged.
"My good Christian daughter expected to keep the company of a heathen" Aethelwulf barked at the side of his wife Judith who looked intrigued by Ecbert's motives.
"Didn't Jesus help the lepers, don't our good monks and priests go to continents to convert pagan children everyday. Here your daughter has a chance to help this poor young soul from himself. She has a prime opportunity to serve God" Aethelwulf was the only person at that table who did not hear the complete insincerity in Ecbert's voice with the exception of his own sons. Ragnar and Judith were holding back their laughter while Alicent knew she couldn't say a word. It wasn't right for woman to speak up against something especially with her father present. Ivar was in shock over the kings suggestion, his mouth completely dropped.
Needless to say it was a short dinner. It was a very quiet dinner. Ivar's eyes burned into Alicent while she would glance up at him sparingly as she ate her food. Ivar couldn't take it anymore.
"Convert me" He sniggered wildly, his laughter becoming boisterous while Alicent remained completely composed seeing this outburst only made her father's anger come again.
"Alicent why don't you take the boy back to his cell. His father and I have some catching up to do" Alicent got up almost immediately before her father could object. Alicent came to the boys side motion him to follow and he did.
Alicent minimally did what she was told. Not looking down but straight ahead with guards behind them. Ivar stayed at her side before she came to his cell, the guards opened the door and she stood at the side waiting for him to go in. When he did, she thought her task was done.
"Alicent" She stilled stopping herself from leaving. The boys voice sounded childlike but she could sense the evil in it. He was a heathen after all. That's what her father brutally reminded her when she was stupid enough to say in defense of her indiscretion "he was just a boy." She slowly made her way into the cell, seeing him sitting at the back of the wall facing her.
"Alicent...that's your name right?" His head held high, his voice dripping with a dominant air.
She gave a nod, her eyes not breaking from his.
"So Alicent..you're going to try-" Ivar crackled in and out "To convert-" He was trying to intimidate her that's what Alicent thought, she wasn't half wrong "Me" He smirked emphasized every word.
She nodded politely, showing no effect from him.
"Well I want you to know... you will fail. I despise your kind, your God. I would rather die than turn away from my Gods" Ivar said in a matter a fact way.
"Hmm" Alicent nodded before taking a step towards him, her demeanor changed "The feelings are shared ...heathen, I didn't expect anything less" She gave a forced smile before leaving.
Ivar grinned.
This was going to be fun.

Part 1
Meeting
Summary: Princess Alicent of Wessex daughter of Prince Aethelwulf and Judith meets Ivar the Boneless.
-
"Allie this is a bad idea" Alfred said trailing far behind his sister who was walking ahead of him.
"Aren't you curious of what they look like? If they have pointed teeth and horns on their heads?" Alicent giggled as she made her way to the dungeons.
"Theyre vikings not demons" Alfred said out of breath keeping up with her.
"Is there a difference?" She mused as they made their way around the corner in view of the guards of the vikings.
"Hello there" She addresses them sweetly with her hands behind her back with Alfred off to her side.
"My lady" The guards bowed their heads to her.
"My grandfather sent me. He asked to see the both of you it seemed very urgent, there are others to come soon to cover for you" Alicent said confidently that the guards believed her and she wasn't known to be a liar. They left her and the prince there.
"I can't believe that worked" Alfred whispered as Alicent slowly crept her hand to open the door. The door creeped open with her head popping around it and she was surprised with was she saw. It was an old man and a boy. She made eye contact with the old man and on instinct flinched back. Ivar scrunched his eyebrows looking at his father after the girl as Ragnar was holding in laughter. Alicent slowly peered her head out again.
The old man looked at her with curious eyes. This was Ragnar Lothbrok. Her grandfather told her many great stories of him while her father berated about him to her. She never knew what to believe. But the old man did not look like a demon nor some great heathen monster.
Then there was the boy that stared at her with the most beautiful blue eyes. She looked at him and couldn't help but scoff.
"You're just a boy" she came from behind the door unwary of the two, tilting her head at Ivar coyly. Ivar returned her gaze seeming insulted by her reaction of him.
"Allie come back" Alfred now popped his head from behind the door making Ragnar chuckle at the two. Alicent and Ivar didn't break eye contact. Both for different reasons. Alicent was analyzing him trying to find what was special about him. He was the son of Ragnar Lothbrok after all. But all she saw was a cripple who looked to be only a few years older than her.
"Why is she staring at me?" Ivar said in Norse, he was returning her gaze because he didn't like how she was looking at him. It wasn't pity which he was used to, or any negative emotion that he was used to. He couldn't figure out how she was looking at him, he didn't like it. And all he could think to do was stare her down.
Ragnar only chuckled at the situation as Alicent went closer and closer to Ivar like a moth to a flame. Alicent paused in front of him looking at him in a way that Ivar only could take as scrutinizing. As her eyes trailed over him slowly and throughly several times.
"Allie you shouldn't be so close to them" Alfred said standing by the door.
"What they seem harml-" Alicent went from giggling to screaming in seconds as she was dragged to the ground. Ivar in seconds had left where he was sitting to getting on top of Alicent pinning her to the ground. Her brother Alfred ran out of the room instantly to get help.
"Stupid girl-" Ivar's seething voice came to a halt, a blade quietly but quickly came to his throat.
Ivar felt a rush go through him as he stared down at her. Alicent's shaky hand stayed at his jugular, making her eyes linked with his for any sudden move. Ivar was impressed at the christian girl showing such fight but he knew it was a show. Her face was afraid so he pushed her, pressing his neck further against her blade. Her eyes widened and her brows creased but she didnt pull away the knife. Ivar smirked down at her as he got closer and closer to her for the blade to eventually break his skin. She thought he was mad while he thought she was absolutely...he didn't know. His body was reacting to her. It felt tense like he was restraining himself, she felt it too but out of fear that she had this mad boy's life in her hands.
His breath was uneven and so was hers mixing with his. His blood was starting to drip down her hand but he didn't notice.
"Please stop" She whispered in his language that he was caught off guard. She begging but not for herself. For him by the slight cut on his neck but it bleed quite enough. He didn't move though having her trapped under him. He realized he liked it, him starting to become very conscious of the body under him. A blush starting to creep on his face and by the way he started to look her, it made a move to hers.
"Well I see the children are getting acquainted" King Ecbert came in surveying the room making Ragnar chuckled being forgotten by them in the corner. Ecbert's eyes lingered on Ivar and Alicent but going to his old friend.
"Grandfather..get him off me" Alicent started to struggle but loosened her grip on the knife.
"Ivar" Ragnar gave out a firm hum making Ivar huff giving Alicent one brief unfinished nod before moving back to where he was sitting releasing her. Alicent quickly got up standing beside her grandfather.
"Well now..our guests have had a long journey, they must be hungry perhaps dinner should be in order" Alicent turned her head slowly towards King Ecbert with an expression on her face that made Ivar chuckle.
"Dinner?" Alicent in disbelief eying her grandfather.
"Yes you will fetch them later won't you?" King Ecbert said with a whimsy smile that made Alicent think he was joking but she knew he wasn't. She ended up stomping out finding Alfred outside grabbing him and dragging him away.
"I told you it was a bad idea" Alfred practically whined.
Alicent didn't care to look how a pair of blue eyes watched her leave. How a pair of blue eyes stayed at the door and brightened at the thought of seeing her again.

Part 2
Romance Isn't Dead
Nina Pov
I'm crazy is all I could think about as I stood by myself at night in what looked like a sex trafficking target spot. I thought people would be out at night for the bars or restaurants but no, not one soul was out just my dumbass to see possible Italian mobster. I was right under the clock tower just like he said right in the perfect line of view for a kidnapper. The place was empty and here I was standing in the middle of the place clear view for anyone. It felt like a place a sniper has a bullseye on my forehead right now.
"When you know, you know..." The possible criminal is late, my feet started to wandered to the fountain near by.
"When you know, you know" I sit down on the side of it.
"It kinda makes me laugh, runnin' down that path" My hand runs through the water in the moonlight.
"When you're good as gold....Cause when you know, you know" I hummed along until I could feel a presence looking down at me.
"When you're old, you're old.....Like Hollywood and me, the diamond on your ring...The soul that you bring to the table" I looked up at his fascinating eyes. He was staring at me but it wasn't in a creep way. It was like he was admiring the view...I was it.
"One that makes me sing...In a minor key...Cause when you know, you know" He started to speak but I couldn't hear him. I slowly took out my earpods getting up from my spot.
"Hey" I do a little wave as he just nods and smiles at me.
"Good evening" He gives a very tense smile "I hope you weren't waiting long." He always looks so stiff with his hands behind his back and his stance so straight.
"Oh no...not long" I slowly make my way to him until I'm standing in front of him. We're just staring into each other eyes for a moment. It makes me look down giggling.
"I thought we could have dinner or go dancing or both" He says kindly smirking.
"That sounds fun" I bite my lip while we still stared at each other. He eventually offered me his arm, which I took with a light snort at the action.
He asked me about my day, how I got to his castle and how I met Heidi. I told him how I really just sat in cafes all day drawing and journaling. How it wasn't really Heidi that brought me to the castle but I just thought the castle itself looked interesting and somewhat crashed the tourist group.
"It wasn't Heidi" He asked almost shocked.
"I'm not into girls" I say jesting at his confusion while he looked to be deep in thought.
We got to a little fancy Italian restaurant after a short walk.
Demetri opened the door of the restaurant making me a say a quick thank you as looked at him slightly surprised by the gesture.
The staff looked stressed as Demetri and I walked in but there were no customers in the restaurant.
Demetri and them spoke in Italian as I watched the interaction it was very interesting. The host or owner of the restaurant was sweating profusely while Demetri wasn't rude though I had no idea what they were saying but he looked above the man's head as he talked to him.
The man eventually led us to our table tripping over himself as he walked which I noticed made Demetri roll his eyes while I bit my lip sympathetically. Demetri pulled out my chair for me and tucked me into the table.
"Thanks" I said in a kind of long way as I looked Demetri over intriguingly.
"Do I pique your fascination?" Demetri says teasingly at the look I was giving him as a waitress came shaking as she put glasses of water on the table, stuttered as she spoke to Demetri in Italian before walking.
"You're definitely in the mafia" I deadpanned making Demetri laugh but he ended up biting his lip as if he was thinking about something.
"I think I will leave that a mystery" He said coyly giving me a smirk that made me give him one back.
"A drive by isn't going to happened at any moment" I say with fake worry making him chuckle again.
"Oh no..no drive bys" He genuinely smiled but slowly faltered before he spoke "Would you say you lead an exciting life" he looked at me as if he was inspecting me making me hold back a scoff.
I shrug "I came to Italy on a whim for the summer so I guess I do try when I have time" I say slightly mocking "How about you...do you live an exciting life" I jokingly raise a brow.
"No all very boring" He says genuinely.
"I don't believe that" I say in a mock sly way.
"No its true. My life is extremely boring. This right here actually is the most excitement in months" He says nodding down to the wine that was shakily brought to the table.
"Do you mind if I order for you" He asks me politely making me shrug a little.
"I don't know italian so you might as well surprise me" I say watching him begin to order.
He had such a regal air about him I notice.
Maybe he's a prince. He has to be something special.
"Are you from Italy?" I ask watching the waitress is hurrying away.
"No, Im from Greece" He looked distance for a moment.
"I've always wanted to go Greece" I watched him intrigued by his actions and facial expressions.
He nodded with a somewhat sad smile as if he hadn't been home in a long time.
"How long has it been since you been on a date?" I said starting to get a vibe off him as this made him chuckled but pause biting his lip slyly for a moment.
"I don't really go on dates" He tried to say in the most gentlemanly way which made me chuckle.
"Then what do you go on?" I say mockingly raising my eyebrows at him. The look on his face I would've thought him being so pale I would've seen a blush on his cheeks but he almost looked embarrassed.
"I have a lot of....friends" He tries to say in the most polite way possible but it only makes me laugh.
"And am I to be your friend?" I mockingly inquire. This made all joking manner leave his face.
"No...your-" He says looking at me with eyes that definitely had me blushing.
"Different" I deadpanned interrupting making him smirk.
"Truly" He countered and I smirked at the comment.
"But you are right... I'm not going to be your friend" I playfully scoff as he looks at me intensely.
Me and him stared into each other eyes for a moment. In that moment I realized something. I never believed in love at first sight or soul mates. But this man across this table I feel a pull, a connection that was completely indescribable. I just knew he was going to be a huge part of my life.
No matter how long it would last.

Pathetic Little Thing
Part 1: Alec
"Is this the start of your rebellious teen phase?" Alec trailed along Jane in this little park they came upon.
"As long as we clean up after ourselves the masters won't care too much" She says nonchalantly her eyes landing on a couple in the distance.
"What about no feeding on the locals?" Alec piped up one of the Volturi's rules for living in the town.
"Occasionally the locals end up on the tours, as long as we don't make this little outing a habit it should be fine" Alec and Jane stared at the little teenage couple who probably snuck out of their parents house to meet here. It was very late at night hardly anyone was out.
"Do you want to join me?" Jane asked still staring at them with a look that if Alec didn't know his sister he would have thought was jealousy.
"No actually, maybe Ill stumble upon my own act of rebellion" Alec lightly chuckled and Jane preceded to hers. Alec wandered off in the opposite direction of Jane's fun. It was a few minutes passing of wandering and Alec thought maybe he wouldn't find a midnight snack.
Alec started to feel something as he walked as if something was pulling him in a certain direction. He then eventually smelled what he was craving. Blood.
Suddenly he heard a girl's voice screaming that perked up his ears.
As he focused on the girls screams that sounded like it was towards a group of italian boys. They were laughing and speaking in things in italian that dulled Alec but also made him wrinkle his nose in disgust. He also heard dogs barking and growling as he approached the scene.
He saw as a group of italian boys probably around twenty in numbers were surrounding a girl. Some of them were surrounding two German Shephards holding them by their leashes antagonizing them.
Alec moved towards the group unnoticed when he stepped on something. Realizing they had the contents on the girls purse all over the area around them as he picked up her passport.
Aisling Barton. 14 years old. American from New York.
"Tourist" he ringed smirking as he threw the ID over his shoulder.
The boys were playing with Aisling, they pulled at her hair, ripped at her clothes, hit her in different places, threw things at her while she frustratingly was trying to communicate with them. She kept making erratic movements with her hands. It then hit Alec that she was deaf. But then he saw her dark brown almost black eyes and how they weren't focused on anything. She was blind as well as deaf. What a pathetic little thing Alec thought as he watched the scene before him. He leaned against a tree as if he watching a show.
But the more Alec just stood by and watched it happened. Something snapped inside him that he thought was gone long ago.
Memories.
Her screaming was replaced with his.
Once he was just poor boy who everybody but his family hated. They saw him as an easy target, an easy person to blame for all their troubles. Him and his sister were beaten, tormented and bullied daily just because they were different. The villagers children would always attack them in groups. The group of boys started to get even closer to her.
Surrounding them as they beat them nearly to death. They were stomping on her to the point Alec heard bones crunching. They put them under their heels and spit at them from above. One of the boy pressed his heel into her temple then Alec noticed something.
Silence.
The girl had stopped long ago with her sobs. She stayed silent as they started to pull up her legs. Jane stayed silence too.
"This is boring" Alec said loud enough for one of the boys to turn. Before the boy could say a word Alec's mist had reached him, it had reached all of them.
Aisling pov
Aisling felt alone in her hotel. Girls that were in the studying abroad program left hours ago. But she did have Aries and Athena laying on each side of her. She couldn't sleep in this new place. She didn't want to be here but her parents shipped her off to wherever they could.
She was a hindrance to them.
Even though she was a very independent girl.
Too independent as she decided to take a night walk. She was completely reliant on Aries and Athena at night when it came to her sight. But she enjoyed night walks. The stillness and freshness in the air. At night the busyness of everything was completely at peace. It seemed even more so in this town. But then she felt something start to happen. Several feet on the ground. Then before she knew it she was knocked to the ground. She could feel Aries and Athena going crazy and then they were pulled from her. She tried to not let go of the leashes but they stomped on her hands. She cried out clutching her hands to her chest. She was surrounded and she knew it. She tried to sign to them but they just pulled her in different directions clutching at her clothes. She kept trying to communicate with them hoping they would understand but screamed out in fear and frustration when her purse was finally taken from her. She kept trying to sign but their hands on her, the rocks and foul-smelling cans that met their mark, her clothes barely holding together, she accepted her fate. They started to kick and stomp on her making Aisling barely conscious.
She thought she was going to die as a man's heel pressed against her temple but ended up just kicking her head. They started to pull her body to the ground but something happened. All the bodies froze and then something miraculous happened. She felt a sort of mist come upon her and her senses changed. Her vision became it's usual grayish blur that it was during the day but never at night. Her hearing was better than her usual. She could usual only hear very loud bass music but right now she could hear boys screaming. She felt Aries and Athena come back to her side. Athena going behind her barking but she seemed frightened.
Aries stood in front of Aisling barking wildly as if he was afraid too but he would die to protect her. Aisling tried to make sense of her new found senses. She could see movement and the bodies still before they fell. She was actually shocked she never had been able to see the shapes of things before. But now she saw the bodies standing still or kneeling down while a force moved one by one to them. Some dropping to the ground while others they're bodies became halves of themselves flying in the air. Aisling didn't understand.
The screams were the worst part. It was the first human sound Aisling ever heard and it terrified her. But all of a sudden it stopped.
Aisling & Alec pov
Alec came closer to being in front of Aisling.
She wondered what he was an animal...an archangel...a monster.
"Strange" Alec almost purred as he sucked the blood off his fingers staring closely at the girl before him.
Aisling ears perked up as she still felt the mist around her and realized it was the reason she could hear. But she didn't hear what the voice said only knew a voice came from whatever was in front of her. Even as she imagined or she actually could hear her babies still barking.
"You know you're the bravest dog I've ever met" Alec kneeled before Aries as the dog was the only thing standing between him and Aisling.
Athena had started to back away making Aisling confused. She never felt her dogs this scared before. What was in front of her?
Then she felt the mist start to leave and her vision went black. Little bit of sound she heard for the first time was gone.
"What to do with you?" Alec hummed melodic type of way as he surveyed the girl as she laid on the ground twisted up in different ways.
She gently started to pull the German Shephard to the side of her making a space between Alec and her. Alec sat there wondering what he wanted to do.
He could tell she was trying to use the dog to get up but she was weak. But her hand started to crawl up the ground towards him and he moved away. He knew she could tell because her hand stopped. Alec looked around perplexed as to why he was even thinking about this. But for some reason he just couldn't go for the kill. She's such a pathetic little thing there was no fun in it. Then something caught his eye. A phone on the ground by her purse. He slowly walked and kneeled down to it picking it up. He stood up playfully tossing it up and down in his hand catching it as he stared down at the pathetic little thing.
"Decisions....Decisions" He looked around at the mess he made realizing it was quite a mess.
Then truly looked at the braille phone and realized his first call to make.
"Felix come to the exact location I text you and come with haste" He ended the call and texted the description of the spot. He didn't want to clean this up. Call it laziness if you want. His eyes never left the girl as he wondered if he should leave her for Felix. He turned around ready to leave thinking he was going mad for even making it a decision but he didn't know what it was that made him go no further. A cosmic pull..an instinct whatever it was something snapped in Alec that he could not leave this girl to die. He rushed over to the girl lifting her up like she was made of glass. Something in him tensed all over that her animals faded into the background.
Everything around him became different as he held her to him. It was her...her smell..her blood..
He needed to hurry for whatever he was going to do. He rushed to the nearest public place at this time of night. Called the phone again. 112 he dialed for an ambulance. Saying the address and condition of the girl before hanging up. He with uncharacteristic gentleness laid her against a wall. He stared at her for a time and she raised her head to him. Did she know he was there? He didn't know never took the time understand her kind he thought as if she was another species from mortal. He was leaving her when she reached up toward him but he left to quickly. He waited on a rooftop nearby for them to come. Eventually someone joined him.
"You owe me" A growl came from his side.
"Is it taken care of?" Alec didn't take his eyes off the girl.
"I surveyed the mess you made and called Santiago. He'll clean it up" Felix said in a prideful manner that Alec thought he had no business in having.
"That's not what I asked" Alec calmly straightened his cuffs as the ambulance came.
"I am not your errand boy" Felix sneered as Alec smirked. He still didn't bother looking at him even as mist started to leave his hands making Felix step back.
"I won't tell if that's what you want" He said through gritted teeth still slowly stepping back but the mist kept coming.
"I'll make Santiago keep quiet as well plea-" Felix actually tripped over his own feet making Alec giggle and turn around while the ambulance was leaving. Alec strolled over to Felix ending up kneeling next to him.
"Next time do as you were told like a good boy" Alec roughly patted his cheek making Felix grimace. Alec causally got up making his way back to the park.
"Incompetence" Alec gave a disappointed shrug at the scene before. Blood specks still littered the ground. He still smelled death in the air not that he minded the smell. He even thought he saw an ear on the ground or a bit of throat. Beer bottles and cans covered in blood.
That didn't annoy him though.
It was the contents of Aisling Barton's purse that littered the ground still. He kneeled down annoyed snatching up the purse itself. There he saw a card to the Hotel San Lino. Alec bit his lip and stared at it.
He made a decision that night. Something that not Jane or Aro helped him make and one neither of them would approve of.
He debated over it but he made it all the same.
That he was going to see her again.

Airpods Save Lives
Demetri Pov
"The meat smells divine today" Felix practically hums out. Whenever the tours came it gave us some kind of excitement. Not that any of us would admit it, we were all so bored. I in a way admired Felix's ability to make excitement from anything even though it could be immature at times. Alec and Jane kept themselves preoccupied in ways that I could tolerate but took years to stomach. I on the otherhand kept myself satisfied with the best thing the world has to offer..women. But even that lately has not had the same effect it usually has for me.
"Hmm" I merely acknowledged until I stopped in my tracks when I smelled the group that was coming. It did smell divine but not how the tours usually smell.
This was different.
It was also extremely overpowering. I wanted to search for and ravish whoever the smell belonged to. Fresh oranges, sweet wine, lavender and ink.
"You can tell someone from this group is rather tasty can't you" Could Felix smell it? Did he feel as I did at this moment? The craving of something unknown. But we were about to find out as the group entered the hall. Me and Felix moved to the side by the assistants desk. The group strolled in with Heidi at the front as usual.
"Demetri" She said sultry trying to get my attention as I didn't even spare her glance worth while. I scanned the group it felt like it went on forever of unwanted faces until my eyes found her.
It was her scent. She wore a orange scented perfume, she just had a glass of wine for lunch, her floral flowy dress was lavender scented from cleaning and she had small smudges of ink on her almost spotless delicate hands.
It all made her so intoxicating.
She was stunning. With her long, slightly wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and a curvy hourglass figure that was complemented by her slender frame.
"Now she's a tasty little thing" Felix said a little too loud that she had to have heard it but her expression did not change from the somewhat bored one she had. I realized she wasn't in awe nor had the enthusiastic interest that everyone else in the tour group had by Heidi's power of persuasion. Then I watched as her eyes darted to something in the side hallway making her leave the group.
"Well thats rare" Felix somewhat interested in the human making a move in her direction before my arm shot up.
"I got it, I'll meet you in the throne room" Without looking at him I make my way towards her.
I watch her as she is analyzing or I should say scrutinizing the Portrait of a Young Man painting. It wasn't my favorite painting of Raphael's but I didn't think it deserved the amount of scrutiny she was giving it. Her nose scrunched, the lines on her forehead and her eyes almost closed by how hard she was trying to see the even smallest details of the painting.
"Give peace a chance..Let the fear you have fall away" I jumped slightly at the sudden angelic melodic voice that came from her as she stepped back trying to look at it from a different angle. Her hands rested at her bag that laid on her hip preparing to open it. I faked a cough to make my presence known but she did not turn to me as she took her phone out from her purse. I moved towards her quickly taking her phone from her before she was able to take a picture.
"Umm excuse me" She said in a sweet surprised voice as she turned to me. If I had a breath it would have stopped as I looked into her eyes.
They were so blue they reminded me of the Aegean Sea.
They reminded me of a home I once knew and I thought long forgotten.
"What's wrong with your eyes?" She said gently grabbing her phone from my hand. My eyes looked like hers once I think. Now they're not as pretty.
"It's a medical condition...you shouldn't have left the group" She placed her hair behind her ear showing a white plug in it. She took it out.
"Is this real?" She pointed to the painting. She hasn't broken eye contact from me nor my eyes from her. This was quite an anomaly for me.
"Yes what makes you question the authenticity?"I say amused by this creature. I usually take human girls in the privacy of dark corners and be done with it. But her...I wanted to make this last.
"Well for one it's been lost for almost a hundred years, this is a Raphael painting correct?" She says trying to be polite but about to burst from this discovery she found.
"Correct, artist are you?" I said conversational but she precedes to put the plug back in her ear. She turns from me much to my displeasure as I watched her hips start to sway away from me.
"Architect major with an art history minor" She said walking in the opposite direction of where she should be going but stopping in her tracks almost immediately at the next painting. She does the same act as the last much to my amusement. She starts huffing in and out analyzing every detail of the Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence. I make my way over to her. My shoulder an inch from hers as I stood facing the painting as she did. She gives me a side eye understanding I wasn't going to leave her. She goes to her ear pressing on the plugs.
"Is this a replica?" She says now finally suspicious of her surroundings if she wasnt before.
"They're all real...love" I stare down at her as she comes closer to me. Every fiber of my being was restraining myself from ending this. I wanted to relish this, savoring it like one does a fine wine.
"Are you in the mafia?" She whispers and I laugh heartily at the question.
"Now what would give you that idea?" I say coyly as I lean closer to her, my eyes landing on her slender neck. Her pretty little neck.
"Because this painting was supposedly stolen by the mafia" She said matter a factly moving from me realizing how close I was to her. I clenched my jaw at the distance between us. I wanted us closer. I had the feeling even if I skin to skin with her wouldn't be close enough for me. But she seemed absolutely uninterested in me, enamored with what was around her.
"Violet, blue, green, red to keep me at arm's length don't work..You try to push me out..But I just find my way back in...Violet, blue, green, red to keep me out...I win" She gives a mumbled hum of the words not fully singing them out knowing that I'm there close behind. She accepts that fact along with that all the paintings she sees are real. She doesn't analyze them viciously like she did before. Now just taking them in like they should be. But I am analyzing every detail of her. The flutter of her eyelashes, the curve of her hip and the way her hair bounces as she walks. She turns her head to me behind her, giving me an excellence view of her perfectly structured jawline.
"Are you art thieves?" She says innocently genuinely curious. I chuckle at her guess. I look at her ear looking at the plug realizing sound was coming from them.
"What are those things?" She looked at me confused. I lift my hand slowly towards her tapping the back of my finger lightly against one of the plugs.
"Oh..they're airpods" She looked at me like it was the most obvious thing in the world and I had absolutely no idea "they're like earplugs or headphones." I mouthed a little "oh" as she let out a little giggle at my ignorance.
"I'll have to warn Heidi about those" I say more to myself as me and her walked side by side down the hall, further and further away from the throne room. We're getting close to a intersection, one hall leads to a cellar and the other leads to an exit. Decisions...Decisions.
"Was Heidi the lady in charge of the tour?" I simply nod while I think of the fact this girls life is in my hands. Do I truly want to snuff out the sun? I'm quite thoughtful about the decision as I firmly placed my hands behind my back.
"She's kinda an airhead isn't she?" I whip my head towards her uncontrollably crackling at her statement.
"Heidi?" I say absolutely bewildered by the statement. I don't think Heidi has ever been described as an airhead?
"Well I know that is kinda mean. I really am not into girl shaming but..she has all this to show"She twirled around then kept walking "and she said a lot of words with really nothing of substance behind them. I did listen a little to her in and out...I don't know I preferred music over her" My hands tighten behind my back as I stare at her. Her hair when she spun I got a delightful whiff of her shampoo.Citrus. Fresh oranges. Her blood would taste so sweet.
"Like this castle has to be from the 12th century-" She looked at me curiously as I stared at her clavicle. That would be a wonderful place to take a first bite.
"11th" I muttered out. We made it to the intersection, cellar for a drink or exit for her life.
"Oh" She tilted her head up to the ceiling an spun slowly on her heel around "I can picture that..there is some roman designs" She smiled to herself. Her eyes sparkled. It's funny I lived in this castle going on a thousand years and always found it a dull place mostly except when we used to have parties. But in one day she saw the beauty in it.
"Are you a lover of Artemisia Gentileschi?" I asked as she was about to turn down the hallway to the cellar, stopped to look at me.
"Yes...why?" She smirked cutely. I smile at her for giving me that answer. I take her hand in mine and lead her through the hallway with the exit.
"Hey how do I know you're not taking me in some dark room to have your way with me" She said half jokingly. I just smirk to myself. She would be so delicious but for some reason it seems like it would be a waste. It wouldn't even be a minute before her life would be gone and she would be gone. Her beauty, her smile, her voice..everything about her I could just take in an instant if I chose to.
"Your hand is so cold" She did a little tug on it. I turn to her and say nothing. I stare in her eyes for a moment and she looks at me amused.
"So if I'm ever found alive and they ask me the name of the assailant, what should I tell them?" I winced as she dropped her hand from mine before the question. I wanted her to touch me.
"Demetri"I slowly drawl out "And when I see your face on the news what name will I see?"
"Nina" It almost came out as a whisper but I heard it. As I also could hear the screams start but she didn't seem to hear them.
"Here we are" I stop in front of our designated painting and she started to laugh at it. The Madonna and the child was one of our many Artemisia Gentileschi paintings but Jane had all of her famous ones on the other side of the castle that was where I didnt want her to be.
"Really out of her paintings this is the one you have?" She giggles as I just look down at my shoes like a boy. She does stop giggling to appreciate the painting eventually.
"She looks so tired" She says more to herself than to me. Then I really look at the painting myself to see what she means. I see it too in the mother's eyes. I never noticed that before probably never cared. I watch her as she looks over the painting really taking in ever detail of it.
"You should paint me it would last longer" I look down again with a smirk.
"Can I?" I say more flirting than serious. She turns to me blushing and my smirk deepens.
"What am I going to be your Rose to you Jack?" She leans closer to me making start to tense even though I was taken back by the reference. I need to brush up on current entertainment.
"Ahh-" I freeze as I can sense someone coming.
I look behind me seeing the reason why we're here..the exit.
I take her hand and hurry her to the door. We go down stairs and stairs. I have to be mindful of my speed seeing I had to keep a human one. Something came over me that I had to get her out that was my only thought at this moment.
"Where are we going?" But her question is answered when I open a door to the outside practically throwing her out. Then the sun light making me step back into the darkness.
"Wait" She places her hand on the door before I close it and I didn't want to hurt her.
"Will I see you again?" She almost whines out.
"Yes but don't come back here..meet me at the front of the clock tower at night fall...goodbye" I said it quickly as I slowly closing the door.
"Goodbye" I heard quietly right before the door closed. I regretted how it ended but there was reasoning behind the abrupt departing.
"Well this is quite unusual behavior...for you" Felix leaned against the wall at the top of the stairs.
"The girl didn't hear or see anything, no laws were broken" I say stiffly making my way past him.
"That may be but the why is what I'm curious about" he hanged his head over my shoulder mischievously. He wasn't going to let this go.
"It just felt like a waste" I shrug looking almost dazed not wanting to think what I had just done and the why.
"A waste...yes a waste of food. Bloody Demetri if you didn't want her you could've given her to me. But Im surprised why didnt you want her?"He was going to nag and nag until he got an answer to his liking.
"I wanted her...but it just felt as it would have been to quick" This was making me nervous. I haven't felt nervous since the incident with the Cullens. But this was a different kind of nervous, I was worried for her.
"Fine then I'll meet her later at the clock tower-" If on instinct I slammed Felix against the wall my hand around his throat.
"She's mine...I'll take care of it" I shove him back stalking away.
She was mine.
I hated to admit it but I knew it to be true.
She is my cantante.

River of Memories
Luca pov
"There's been an accident" I remember this bridge. This river.
"Why don't you move it out of the way?" I say not very politely. I remember me and her here.
"What?" I swear british cops are worse than American ones. They're dumber for one.
"I said, why don't you clear it so that we can get past." I try to say more politely this time. Why did we have to get stuck here? I grind my teeth to smile at this stupid cop.
"What's that accent?" I try to muster up all the patience I could for an answer....I know I was going to need it.
"We're Americans. We're here on business, so..."I think this is me nicely trying to tell him to hurry up but he doesn't look happy.
"Well, you're going to have to wait." I bite my tongue and try to control my seething. I don't want to be here..It brings back memories.
"Jesus Christ, this guy." I stared at the river. I remember when I came here with her in the summer of 1921. She said gypsies would use this river. We didn't have proper swim clothes with her is a chaste shift dress and me stripping down to my boxers. I remember how she blushed and ran away from me to the water. I wondered if I would ever see her blush again.
"We waited for you fucking Yanks until 1918. It'll be clear in 20 minutes, all right?" Thinking of her calmed me. I remembered when she went into the water it was the first time I saw a different type of look in her. She was always happy, innocent and sweet. But when we swam, I saw how she looked at the water with a out of place sadden expression. "Pen what's wrong?" I cupped her cheek and she blushed into my hand smiling. "Nothing" she said trying to keep a safe distance between us at the time. "Pen" I pulled her closer and she looked at me questioningly. She knew I wasn't going to let her go till she told me. "It's quite depressing" She said trying to brush me off but I wasn't letting go. "Tell me" I pulled her into a hug. She looked at me nervously, it was rare we were like that then. "My mother drowned when I was little, I watched her drown...I haven't really been in the water since" I didn't want to remember those kind of things about the Shelbys. But the look on her face then, was the one she had now and it didn't seem out of place. It killed me. I didn't want to think about it.
"Yeah, all right. Thank you, Officer. Thank fucking hell." I said angerily. I didnt want to remember what she used to be. I had to remember why I was here. My Vendetta.
"1918 What the fuck is he talking about?" Matteo said confused in Italian.
"Talking about the war. Everything here is about the war." This river Pen told me everything , her mother, her father, about what happened to her brothers in the war and how she studied psychology in university to have helped them. I fell in love with her more here.
"Luca if I may be so bold.." He wouldn't dare. I gave a look would give off the expression to anyone else not to finish their sentence but Matteo wasn't that bright "how do you know the Shelby girl" I looked back out of the window picturing me and her in the water. Her smile.
"My mother taught her years ago...She liked her a lot. She ended up working for the family as a seamstress. .We met and we got close...It went on for years and the year I finally proposed..Her brother started the war with my father" I didn't even look for a reaction as I told him. There was a moment of silence and I already lost all patience I had.
"Right, come on, let's go move it ourselves. Fucking idiots." I get out of the car and I realize what is blocking the road.
"What's this? Whose wagon is that?" Matteo says going right up to the cop.
"They're Gypsies. A tribe of fucking Gypsies." I start to still and remember Penelope's words from years go. "Gypsies use this bridge all the time, well the river at least to smuggle or other things."
"Well, we can move it..." Matteo tries to get past the cop but is pushed back. "Oi! I said it'll be clear in 20 minutes." I heard a voice in my head. Her voice "I need you Luca..I need you alive." We need to get out of here.
"Let's go. We'll find another way out of here." I make my way back to the car and Matteo Follows.
"Go. Get us the fuck out of here." I kept hearing her voice, her ramblings before we parted last.
"Tommy will find a way to kill you Luca anywhere you least expect it" she said pleadingly to take heed to her words.
"Come on, fucking move! Make a fucking move!" Her voice won't leave my fucking head.
Her voice was a warning.
"Please Luca stay cautious..Stay safe" She cried.
Then the gunfire started and I ducked.
I got out of the car and started shooting.
I shot and I prayed silently I would hit one of those gypsy fucks.
I prayed silently I would make it out and see my love again.

Our Vendetta
Penelope pov
At least one thing stayed the same.
Well when wine was involved at least.
He was the same type of lover with me.
We danced together like we used to.
We danced all the way to the bed.
He was same as he was years ago gentle and passionate.
How much I really missed the feel of him, he'll never know.
He looked so different in this bed than out of it.
Almost the same as he did years ago, his hair gel wore off and his hair was no longer slick back. All his features were softer. His face was calm and didn't look so focused except on me. We held each other, stared into each other eyes. He looked like he still loved me but it was such a sadder look than before. His eyes traveled from my face to my neck, where I still wore my engagement ring on a chain.
"Anyone else propose to you while I was gone" Luca said jokingly even though he always knew that he wasn't the only man that persued me but he was secure in knowing that I only had eyes for him.
"Actually that was something I came here to talk to you about" I started to lean up against the headboard as he didn't look worried at all more of intrigued.
"Tommy has made an alliance with the Golds, they're a bunch of cutthroat horse thieves but they're killers and that's what Tommy wants killers. The leader of the gang Aberama Gold has a son about my age, they made me part of the deal" Luca's eyes went cold and dazed.
"Well thats just more people I have to kill" He nonchalantly as he got up from the bed.
"That's it" I say not knowing why I expected something different.
"What do you want me to say Pen? Do you want me to go into some jealous rage....over some boy" he chuckled darkly as he threw a toothpick in his mouth.
"I don't know" I said in lifeless type of way. His face that went dark for a moment went soft again. He sat on the edge of the bed this time, the side of his face facing me.
"You know you don't have to stay here when all of this is going on..I could have you go to Italy..Paris or America, wherever you want I'll make it happen baby" he turned his face towards me almost pleading. He didn't want me to stay here and watch him murder my entire family. I just looked at him and it reminded me of my Luca from before all of this.
"You could go to Naples, or New York...I think you'd like New York better it's busy and always different with things going on. It's not like this shithole. You never belonged here" He always used to say that. That I never belonged in Birmingham. Maybe I didn't..Maybe I did.
"Penelope say something" he grabbed me by the arms and sneezed gently.
"I can't leave" I said simply and as he let me go with a very Italian sounding groan. He hung his head for a second but looked back up at me.
"Why?" He said with a mixture of emotions.
Annoyance, frustration, confusion and sadden.
"Because I won't leave you here alone." I lean closer to him, resting my forehead on the top of his shoulder.
"If you stay..you're going to see what I have to do. I'm gonna make them suffer Penelope" he said with no regret but honestly. Not happily maybe some slight anger in his voice but no joy in it. Just what has to be done..
"Good... Make them suffer...how we suffered. When we were tore apart, our happiness ruined..our baby dead"I let out a soft sob remembering my miscarriage when Tommy announced the war against the Changretta's. The stress, the sorrow, the anger of all the stupidity and recklessness of it killed our baby.
"M-make them pay..I-I w-want them to pay" I cried and Luca pulled me close to him.
It was true. I wanted them to pay. I was so angry at them for what they've done.
But they were my family and I loved them...
But Luca was in the right. Luca had the right to start this Vendetta.
It wasn't just his Vendetta.
It was our Vendetta.

Eriene Baratheon & Robb Stark
"I swear on everything I hold dear, my house, my family, my countrymen that no one will especially me or even you... will ever hurt you again" he said against my lips. I looked at him and he wasn't lying. These weren't pretty words to woo me or trick me. He was genuine. He was truly genuinely honorable and good. I realized in that moment as I looked into this man's eyes that I would do anything to protect him too.

Couldn't have said it better😭 Angus Cloud was one of the few people that brought me joy and it's just so shocking that he's gone so young. Like it genuinely feels like someone I know personally just died🥺
What do you say when an actor that you loved passes away… I didn’t know Angus Cloud personally, but him and his character Fez brought me so much joy. I hate this so much. His family and friends are in my thoughts. We’re lucky to have gotten to know him.
