One year ago on August 9th, this happened! Available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited 📙🖋
As a last resort to improve her dissertation, graduate student and black belt Vivienne Rousseau takes the advice of her elusive mentor and reluctantly heads to the estate museum of Mark Twain. Little does she know that this Saturday excursion turns into a chase across his lawn...and centuries back into the dark ages of splintered Britain.
Ab urbe condita anno viginiti duodecim...The year from our founded city twelve and twenty-two...known by history as 469 AD under the Roman Empire.
To survive, she heeds at the mercy of a warlord, Riothamus, and accrues unlikely friendships among his ranks and a lone wolf. From scholar to soldier, she uses her intellect and combative skill to forge a new role ruled by men. There she is given a new name: Virago.
Through inexplicable forces, she must adapt to an illusive time in history full of tribes, rural customs, and violence to find answers. Conflicted if she will ever return to the future, little does Virago realize that she will seal the destiny of a man who inspired an infamous legend...and create her own.

100 miles in 24 days. I’ve always had the French Riviera on my bucket list, but I never considered what the Coté d’Azur has to offer for the average traveler. Monaco is more than a billionaire’s playground, the land of Grace Kelly, and home of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This challenge had cross through a multitude of hubbub spots: Saint Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Cape Martin, and more. The area isn’t just occupied with the wealthy and famous. The coast is rich with history, festivals, beaches, and unparalleled views of the sea. While virtually coasting the French and Mediterranean shores, this route is the way to go, hands down, when the time comes to travel in person. #theconquerorchallenges #cotedazurfrance #virtualchallenge #theconquerorchallengescotedazur (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVpe1SCremY/?utm_medium=tumblr

312 miles in 77 days. From Florence, the city of flowers, to Vatican City, the smallest country in world, I virtually trekked the trail of St. Francis of Assisi. The Italian countryside is just one of many places I intend to see for myself in the near future. Le mie radici italiane lo richiedono. In the meantime, Italiano is in my Duolingo repertoire. It’s a challenging but romantic language. #theconquerorchallenges #stfranciswayvirtualchallenge #florenceitaly #virtualmarathon (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVejPEBAhzW/?utm_medium=tumblr

It’s HERE! A lot is being celebrated today, but the most special and most important (in my opinion) is that Virago is finally available on Amazon! Two years it took to write this. Two years it took to begin the journey of Virago, Riothamus, and many others through a time where a legend was born. A legend that has been crumbled under history and pondered over for centuries. Through the eyes of the titular character, let yourself be swept away to a world left to its own devices after the Roman Empire abandoned its British shores...and thus, so a new force may rise and prosper. Thank you to everyone who have helped me with the nitty gritty, the readers’ opinions, and those who have encouraged and motivated me....those who endured the incessant questions and messages. You know who you are and I love ya 😅♥️ Finally, check it out and ENJOY. ............................................................. Also, on @spotify I have a public novel #playlist if you should like to listen. I cannot tell you how many times I did when writing 🎵🔂🎶 #viragonovel #newrelease #debutnovel #historicalfiction #fiction #book #novel #romanbritain #adventure #timetravel #spotifyplaylist (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSXPMiTL2da/?utm_medium=tumblr

Today marks five days until #Virago launches on #Amazon 🙌🏻 Here is one more #excerpt before the debut! Enjoy 🤓✍🏻 ..............… A short distance away, people scurry out of the way for something to pass by. Or someone. Kellan and Bhalthair manifest through the small crowd with a searching eye. Shit, we gotta go. Now. I toss the cloak aside, leaving it as a burgundy stain on white-sprinkled green. Hood over my head, we hasten to the doors, wedging our way between arrivals and departures. Every few seconds, I switch my attention between the detecting wolf ahead and for any signs of Kellan and Bhalthair behind me. The doors close firmly at my back, but my alertness only heightens when I navigate through the tunnel. The sounds of Cal’s claws scratching the ground echo as he starts to quicken. Erratic movement magnifies when he slips through people coming from the opposing direction. “Hurry and open the gates,” I command ahead. Heads turn at my projecting voice in the arched underpass, startling them. The wolf leaps through the second gates and Caden ushers the horse into a trot. Immediately, people get out of the way. The urgency sets my boots into a sprint behind the accelerating wolf. “Move, move. Faster. Open the goddamn gates! Hurry!” Caden pushes Pro into a cantor and narrowly misses the lock stiles’ edges. Cal springs out the doors several feet high off the ground and lands with stealth. He continues with pursuit as I spring through seconds after, bypassing Vangelis and Altin. They jolt back at my speed. The infantrymen shout my name over one another against the whistling wind. Caden draws Pro back, slowing him to a wobbly walk. It’s now or never. #viragonovel #newrelease #debutnovel #historicalfiction #romanbritain #newbook (at Cadbury Hill) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSJ_HK1ra7S/?utm_medium=tumblr

#Virago Excerpt: Childish giggles and excited squealing come from the outside of the exit. “Ah, here you are,” Kenna exclaims coolly. “Keeping company as you wait for me, have you?” Two boys, no more than five or six years old, jostle about, watching another boy tumble playfully with a large, pointy-eared dog. The animal lies on top of the kid and licks his face incessantly. “You win, you win, Caliburn. I admit defeat,” he guffaws, squirming ticklishly. The grayish dog eases on him, letting the boy push his furry pelt off him. As they all get to their feet, they turn around to see they are no longer alone. “Shouldn’t you be in the market, helping your father, Thayer? And you two, you should be in the fields, plowing with your sister,” she admonishes. Her harsh tone isn’t genuine, but they don’t know that. They’re too focused on the fact they got caught skipping out on their chores. “We’re sorry, Kenna,” says one of the jostlers nervously. “We just wanted to play with him. He is so lonesome out here. Antidu won’t allow Caliburn to come inside the village.” “Be that as it may, you cannot shirk your duties, boy. Now off with you before I decide to find both your sires and report what you have been up to.” “Yes, Priestess,” they respond in unison. They skedaddle without another word, abandoning their four-legged friend with us. Or I should say abandoning us with a beast. From its gangly legs to the long narrow muzzle, every feature of this animal screams wild. The long ears perked and alert. The thick mane smoothed along his neck to his wideset cheeks. The streamlined body built for speed and pursuit. The straightly fluffed tail dipped with black under the gray. The white paws comparatively the size of my own hands. Those sharply yellow eyes calmly gazing at me. “That’s not a dog.” This one is nothing like the dogs I’ve seen in the fortress. “Of course not. Caliburn is a wolf." #newrelease #debutnovel #romanbritain #viragonovel #historicalfiction #fiction (at Tickenham) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRyYABTsVCl/?utm_medium=tumblr

Excerpt: From my affliction, Blair gasps for air. I push him to the floor and grab his arm to extend it. Locked in place, then pressed down to the stone grain, I slide my legs around his neck and under his arm to stress his shoulder. While he writhes to get free, I swipe one of the arrows from his pocket. Suddenly, he stills when the sharp tip digs into his neck. He dares not to swallow. From the exertion, the renewed tenderness in my thigh dissipates. Meanwhile, my words struggle to push through the coated acid in my throat as I speak. “Now you listen to me, soldier. My mind is completely out of whack. I have no recollection of this life before yesterday. I have been pushed, punched, and thrown in a place that I have no business being in. But I am. And while I’m here, I will do whatever I can to get through this, even if it means taking down anyone who gets in my way.” My fist twitches around the narrow wood, managing to cut a few hairs where his neck meets jawbone. Blair jerks his chin away. Inadvertently, he exposes his throat as if in surrender. The muscle and arteries stretch the surface but no blood manifests. Oh no, I want him to look at me when I speak. Using the arrow, I bring back his full attention. With enough pressure, the dull grids will leave a temporary imprint on his cheek. “You want to see danger and cunning? Make no mistake, I did not enjoy inflicting pain on Riothamus or your brother. And I especially don’t take pleasure in threatening you. But I won’t be denied a little boundary, do you understand me?” “That won’t happen so long as you are here,” he spits out. Effortlessly, my extremity grip keeps him down. I force the spearhead further into the hollow of his cheek. His words muffle through the rough position. “You belong to him. You’re a soldier now. Just as I am. And like it or not, woman, you will own nothing. Not even your life.” “Like hell he will.” Just for the gender personification, I dig my heel into his progressively pained shoulder. He hisses through grinding teeth. “We shall see then, won’t we?” Chills strike the hairs of my nape. Slim, frigid metal slides under my chin. #excerpt #newrelease #newbook #virago #fiction (at Cadbury Hill) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRozoNHMdOx/?utm_medium=tumblr
