Mikan shuffled along the hallways of Hope’s Peak, cardboard box in hand. She couldn’t help but be concerned at the ultimate Artist’s request. The box’s contents consisted of needles, disinfectant wipes and a few boxes of band-aids. The nurse’s limited knowledge of her fellow student left her clueless as to what use the items would be. How could she use any of this for art? The content was much more suited to a blood drive if anything. Her worries however, didn’t outweigh her need to feel useful.

Mikan located the classroom Angie had told her to meet her in. She knocked on the door, asking, “Yonaga-San was it? Y-You left a-a note o-on my desk, r-requesting some stu-stuff from m-me the o-other day?”

“Hmm? My... reason?” Mikan asked, as she sat down next to the anthropologist. She tapped her fingers together, biting her lip, “Well, I suppose I became a nurse because I wanted to help people... It makes me f-feel useful.” She took a deep breath. 

The nurse smiled a little, “P-Plus, I enjoy being... Being that life line. T-Those people, are a-always so sick, and w-weak. T-They’re so re-reliant on me... The-Their lives...in my hands...”

“Ah?!” Mikan squeaked, surprised by someone suddenly taking notice of her. She wasn’t exactly sure of who the tall figure was, though she did recognize him. Another student, if she had to take a guess, though his name and talent was a mystery to her.

The nurse took a deep breath, staring at the ground. She bit her lip, “Oh um, n-nothing…” Getting harassed by strangers and nearly breaking something wasn’t exactly ‘nothing’ but she wasn’t going to bother someone with that. For all she knew, the other was about to start mocking her, and the question had been from a place of sarcasm.

“I-Interesting?” Mikan asked, “Oh um, y-yes, if you really want to t-talk to a gr-gross s-slowpoke like me...” It was unusual for someone to take an interest in her to say the least. 

“U-Um, yes, ri-right, let’s... Find som-somewhere t-to sit then!” She said, or rather, almost declaring it if not for her shaky tone and hesitance.
