yeahhh it’s hard to know how much is actually form britain itself and how much is just stolen form other cultures lolll. the beans on toast thing is so funny to me because i barely know anyone who does eat that often haha
-neassa
beans on toast is the one thing i KNOW british people eat because my good friends' dad is british and he swears on his life that it's incredible. he made me eat it once. it was fine

british food is hard to class since there’s multiple countries in britain which each have their own cultural dishes (plus northern/north of ireland is its own can of worms in terms of food and culture) (plus plus like beans said there’s soo many non british cultures here now too) but i guess the staple “british” foods can be pretty good. fish and chips and sunday roast and full english breakfast and bangers and mash and pies and what not. and there’s a lot of local restaurants that do good fried chicken :)) (it’s complicated since i technically do live in united kingdom but not britain? and i’m irish. so) -neassa
yeah, fair fair. i feel like i only hear about uk food in the terms of 'ooooh beans on toast.' a lot of the stuff you have over there we have here too, just usually with some sort of sauce that's mostly artificial flavoring or something

then again when we went to egypt the only thing i would eat was the world's most unripe mangos so actually maybe this is a me thing?
i remember when we were in india and we ate literally the best food on earth for two weeks straight and then went back to kuwait and on our first day back we went to burger king and for some reason i started crying

like it's not like kuwait didn't have good food, right? there was a fucking incredible mom and pop store near us that served kebabs that made me feel like i was eating heaven and i will never forget this specific place that was near our "church" that served lamb hearts and cherry beef. and it goes without saying that the tabouli was great. but like most people there would just get burgers, fried fish or indian food. or they'd go to the only mexican restaurant in the country... or even the hibachi restaurant... like i feel like moving back to the states, the only difference was that people eat bacon here. and drink alcohol. it's crazy

alright, i can't really argue with that. i mostly meant if there's any food that originated in the uk that's good. i keep seeing videos of british people talking about bbq and popeyes like it's life changing and it's occurred to me that i don't really know much about what gets eaten over there? it did sound kind of disparaging which is my bad, but like.
do british people not have good fried chicken?

Love it when beings beyond human comprehension are based off of marine life.
Because let’s be honest real quick, underwater animals are THE most alien to us. BUGS TOO. I don’t want anymore humanoid tentacle eldritch monster, make that thing a FISH.
That being said, angels based off of shrimp instead of birds please 🥺
For me. For me.

i think something people may not realise is that psychosis can be subtle. it isn't always super obvious that someone is in psychosis, and it can actually often look a lot like anxiety or a shutdown.
my paranoia is around people plotting to hurt me, and the hallucinations try and convince me that people are out to do just that. naturally i feel very anxious when it feels like people are trying to kill me and when hallucinating things like people holding weapons or seeing people watching me from behind cars and trees (not to mention the fucking shadow people. what is it with the shadow people??)
psychosis can also cause catatonia. it can be quiet. it can be staring at a wall for hours on end because you're feeling so terrified that you disconnect from reality and you can't move because your brain is trying to protect itself.
it's so important for there to be representation and awareness of the signs of psychosis and there are times when it is very clear that someone is in psychosis, absolutely. but please keep in mind that there are times when it won't be obvious at all or it won't fit the "stereotype" of what people assume psychosis is.
