10th of June 2015, Rusty Quill Gaming released its first ever episode, and ten years on, we still love it.
So to celebrate, a very talented bunch of people came together to offer a tribute for a show that has touched our hearts and happily still has its cozy place there to this day.
Please enjoy.

Another big thanks to @bluejayblueskies for commissioning this comic and to @knifemartin for allowing me to adapt their CYOA into a short comic! This was a fun project to work on and I'm hoping to do more story based stuff soon!
Image ID: This is a single page comic rendered mostly in blue with yellow accents. With curling clouds and bright yellow stars behind them, Barnes, a brown man with long curly hair, and Carter, a white man with a mustache, and leaning towards each other as Carter rests his weight on Barnes' shoulder. Carter is looking at Barnes' mouth, tipping up his chin for a kiss, while Barnes begins to lean in too.
In the second frame, Barnes has turned away from their potential kiss at the last second. He looks guilty and upset and awkward, but is pretending to be interested in the stars above them. Only Carter's chin and the tip of his nose are really caught in frame, but still he wears a shocked expression.
They are then viewed from the front. Barnes is rubbing warmth into his arm where Carter had once been as he very pointedly looks up at the stars, and Carter is leaning forward to rest his arms on this folded knees as he pouts at the roof tiles, dejected. Neither are happy with this finale, but they know that, for now, this is how it must be.
The comic ends exactly how the first page ended, with the two of them sitting next to each other, looking at sprawling constellations of yellow stars in the sky. Except, they are no longer touching, and no one is speaking, and the sun has begun to rise.
#YESSSSS#hehehe#oh sekrap i looove these so much they're so gorgeous#the blue and golddddddd yes#i wasn't sure if you'd do the true ending or the ch18 ending so i'm glad you didn't give them what they wanted heheh#oh the yearning!!!!! i love barnes's desperate looking-away face#and those starssss#everything. love u

Image ID: This is a single page comic rendered mostly in blue with yellow accents. Barnes, a brown man with long curly hair, is depicted drinking straight from a large bottle of rum. After an anxious swallow, he leans towards Carter, a white man with a mustache, but can't seem to look him in the eye. "Thank you, for this," he says.
In the frame immediately after, Carter cuts away from admiring the starry night sky to elbowing Barnes in the chest. "You deserve to let go sometimes too," he says, his expression taunting. The speech bubble is connected to a second that reaches over into the next frame, which is just Barnes' profile looking at the viewer/Carter with uncertainty in his expression. Carter's speech continues as "Indulge in something for once in your life, eh?"
End ID.
#WHOAAHHAHGGH!!!!#i have been away but helllo yes.#indulge. indulge barnes. just indulge#are you even capable of it???#[TO LOOK AWAY GO TO CHAPTER 25]

Image ID: This is a single page comic rendered mostly in blue with yellow accents. In the first frame, Barnes, a brown man in sleep clothes, is pictured laying on a roof and picking at his own nails. "Yeah, alright" he says, the text small to imply that he's speaking quietly. In a flurry of movement, the second frame depicts Carter, a white man with a mustache, is launching himself over the side of the roof with a cheer of "On it!"
Underneath, Barnes sits up, almost as if to pursue Carter. But, he stops himself, and wraps his arms around his legs. Then, Barnes reaches for the wrap that is concealing his hair and pulls it out of place, until in the final of these four frames, he is sitting along on the roof considering the head wrap while his curls spill around his face.
Speaking to the empty roof, he calls out "Carter?"
A hand grasps the roof ledge. In the next frame, a heavy backpack falls down next to the hand, and Carter calls out "Take this--"
In the frame after that, Barnes has scrambled to the edge of the roof to help, and finds Carter hanging over the edge with a grin, the muscles in his arms bulging from the effort of holding himself up.
The final frame zooms out and is framed from slightly back and below, so the viewer can see Carter's whole body dangle from the roof. He could put his weight on a window sill nearby, but he chooses to show off his strength as he grins up at Barnes, who is looking at him incredulously. Carter, unable to get up with Barnes in the way, says "--and move over so I've got more room, c'mon!"
End ID.
#our boy is pining BAD!!!!#last panel. barnes do a scar lion king that'd be crack up#putting the cya in cyoa

Image ID: This is a single page comic rendered mostly in blue with yellow accents. In the first two frames, Carter, a white man with blonde hair and a mustache, is looking up at the sky. "A real treat to get a clear night so soon after quarantine" he says, smiling, before looking at Barnes, a brown man with his hair tied up in a wrap, with an exasperated look. "Though, I do miss the desert sky. Fuckin' infinite out there."
An eye sits in the center of four frames, looking up at the stars which are reflected in the iris. "Same as the sea," Barnes replies.
The next frame is of Barnes' legs crossed. His batok tattoo is hidden under one leg, and Carter has somehow sat closer, one leg stretched out pressed against Barnes and the other propped up as Carter remains in a sitting position. They are surrounded by empty speech bubbles as Carter talks, and talks, and Barnes dutifully listens.
The following frame is of Barnes' empty bottle hitting the black roof tiles with a thunk.
The final frame, which takes up the bottom third of the page, is framed from above. The viewer can only see the top of Carter's head and his outstretched leg, but they can see all of Barnes, and the way that he looks away from Carter and appears to be anxiously playing with his own hands.
"Me too," Carter says, referring to Barnes' empty bottle. "Should I grab some more?"
End ID.
#WWAAAAAHHHHH#the eye the stars the legs pressed together (gay) the empty bottle barnes being nervous#he moved away but carter just followed.... doomed.#jay thank you so much for asking for this sek i looove seeing this scene in your art!!!!

As part of this year's @fandomtrumpshate, I was commissioned by @bluejayblueskies to draw a branch of @knifemartin's CYOA series! I currently have seven pages drafted I'm excited to make more once I've got the time!
Next
Image ID: This is a single page comic rendered mostly in blue with yellow accents. The first four frames of are of James Barnes, a brown man with his hair covered and dressed for sleep, climbing onto a roof. He wanders out onto the tile alone, looking at the stars, until a clinking catches his attention.
Not far off, his companion Howard Carter, a white man in day clothes, crouches in front of a wall with a brick taken out and fiddles with glass bottles. "Not my best selection," he warns, "There's an ale and a wine. I'm having the wine."
Barnes admires him, both exasperated and fond. Then, he sits and extends a hand. "Ale, then," he says, the next panel being a close up of his and Carter's hand's just touching as Carter passes him a bottle with the affirmative "Ale."
The final frame takes up a large portion of the screen. Carter and Barnes are just black silhouettes as they admire the night sky. Yellow constellations and spiraling clouds stretch out before them, but a single text box connects them. "Good weather for it, yeah?" Asks Carter.
End ID.
#OOOOOOOOHHHH#AAAAAAAAHHHH#oh sek this is gorgeous!!!!#the blue and gold! the constellations !!#look at their fingers brush over that bottle

What your favourite RQG pairing says about you
Zolf/Wilde: You're either relatively new to the fandom, or you've been here for at least 4 years and have basically committed to these guys for life.
Wilde/Grizzop: you like Zoscar but wish there was more biting involved.
Zolf/Hamid: You like ships where the dynamic isn't so much "enemies to lovers" as it is "difficult and messy friendship to difficult and messy romance".
Wilde/Hamid: You just really like charming men in pretty clothes and I can't blame you for that.
Grizzop/Hamid: You just want to see that halfling get absolutely destroyed, and I can't blame you for that either
Zolf/Hamid/Wilde: You actually really liked the epilogues, thank you very much.
Zolf/Wilde/Grizzop: Your favourite rqg fanfic is Miri's Four Seasons Total Landscaping Au.
Bertie/Wilde: You're still on season 1.
Bertie/Zolf: You're still on the prologue.
Grizzop/Veseek: You have at least one @areyouokaypanda drawing saved on your phone.
Carter/Wilde: You are Tumblr user @crayonturtle or Tumblr user @knifemartin
Barnes/Carter: You're *still* waiting for that 18 Month Timeskip Oneshot.
Cel/Barnes: You want to kiss that sailor sooo bad... You want to live on a houseboat with him soooooo bad......
Cel/Sasha: You either really like Lydia Nicholas, or you just like characters bonding over a shared love of violence.
Grizzop/Sasha: You want to live in the woods and consensually hunt your friends for sport sososososo bad. You're also probably some flavour of aromantic but who knows.
Skraak/Hamid: You are clapping and cheering any time Hamid develops a new draconic trait. You have relistened to the second airship arc more than once.
Azu/Hamid: You just want Azu to be happy.
Azu/Kiko: You just want Azu to be happy, and you're sapphic.
Azu/Sasha: You want Azu to be happy, you're sapphic, and you can't listen to episode 125 without crying
Ed/Tjelvar: I have nothing to say for this one but you're cool as fuck and this is a peak ship. We should be friends.
#yes and!! we are CORRECT#also wow . time. years. many of them#crazy to think this time four hears ago i was just catching up to what.. ep 178?#what a time to be alive!#hey where's our messy foursome. the timeskip squad#those four physically competent but emotionally repressed idiots#that one brain cell

Topaz alone
[ID: Digital illustration of Topaz T. Camel from RQG. She is lying alone on the celestial plane, staring up at a pink diamond shaped star overhead. The sky in the background is filled with purple, red and yellow clouds lit up by the sunset. Topaz herself wears pink ribbons, jewels and a patterned saddle. She has her golden wings out but folded up. She lies on a sandy desert which rolls away into distant, dark dunes. The sand beneath her is pink and orange and the grains glitter faintly like stars. Canvas one: A group marches to the left as an off screen voice shouts "Everyone grab a bow! Nice, even lines, c'mon!". In the second shot of boots and legs, a smaller, skittering creature runs between them. An archery range appears, followed by a rack of bows, one of which is snatched off by an unseen and.
Canvas two: A young Grizzop, a grey goblin with long ears, drags a large bow across the ground with a too-large quiver hanging from his shoulder. In the second frame of him dragging it, uproarious laughter starts. Two other children are shown in the next frame, doubled over laughing, as one proclaims "he can't even lift it!" Grizzop responds to their laughter by bearing his teeth and growling.
Canvas three: Grizzop bonks into someone's legs with a look of fear. He looks up at a tall, muscular woman with a stern expression who says "Bow looks a little large for you." Defiant and annoyed, Grizzop responds. "I want to practice." The woman smiles and cocks a hip. "I like your initative," she tells him, "but good hunters only use the best weapons." After offering Grizzop a better suited bow, his eyes light up, and the final frame shows him holding a small white bow with stars etched into handle.
Canvas four: Grizzop stares down the archery range. He lines up his shot. Behind him, the woman lifts his arm a little, saying "Elbow up" before he stares down his target. Grizzop focusses, his pupils thinning into slits, before loosing the arrow as a starry fog swirls behind him. That same fog follows the arrow all the way to the target.
Canvas five: The arrow strikes the target dead center. Grizzop stares in excited shock before the woman behind him steps up. "Oh, we'll make a fine hunter out of you," she says, before turning over her shoulder to shout "Thirty push ups for everyone who laughed and extra seminary!" Grizzop looks up the sky and says "Thank you Lady Artemis" while the woman scorns the children who teased him in the background.
Canvas six: Grizzop is older. He sits among his children who listen intently. "Artemis teaches us to always care for the small. It's why I'm not always home," he tells them. "Did you beat up the mean people?" One child asks. "Does Artemis talk to you?" Asks another. Grizzop stands from his seat and walks over to a black case. "We chat sometimes," he says cheekily, opening the case to reveal that same white bow, still surrounded by starry fog. "She has always guided me true," Grizzop says, before the frame switches to include him and his eldest child, a young goblin with stockier ears and a dark sweater. "Now that you're a little older," Grizzop says, "would you like to learn how to shoot?" "Yes," responds the gobbin, and the cycle repeats.
