My ice-cream cones for the #dropclothSamplers ice-cream social stitch along are done! I used some hand dyed silk thread, and darned them in two different designs, then edged in back stitch. #icecreamsocialsal https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg6P24ZJ9XJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I decided to give the jack compartment (? the box that goes on top of the frame) on my loom a light sanding and found out when it was made! Almost exactly one year after we came to Australia. 🙂 #countermarchLoom #countermarchWeaving https://www.instagram.com/p/CXP6gCGJn9t/?utm_medium=tumblr

Contact Form Problems
I realised a couple of days ago that my contact form wasn’t working on mobile, even though it was working fine on desktop. It should be fixed now but please let me know if you have any problems with it using any of my social media links in the footer.

New Pricing for Books and Patterns
New Pricing for my Knitting Books and Patterns! #knitting #knittingPatterns @payhip

I have exciting news for anyone who is interested in my patterns and book that I have for sale. I have introduced a new system of pricing for my e-books, which offer a lower price initially, and you can pay whatever you want above that.

My crafting philosophy has always been to use whatever yarn you choose, or repurpose what you have access to. Whether your yarn be luxury hand paint, oddments…

I couldn’t help myself. The cross stitches sampler from #dropclothsamplers finished in one day. Now I have a bruise on my thumb 🤣 https://www.instagram.com/p/CGLYJl-pCH7/?igshid=13wl92pcdi6ne

I just finished my first stitch of the month sampler from #dropclothsamplers . Satin stitch. I found out that I don’t like working plate stitch (I faked it), and I’m a lot better at making a neat edge on my satin stitch if I wear reading glasses! Now on to the next one, which arrived yesterday! https://www.instagram.com/p/CGI76rMJEvb/?igshid=1did3lvh9fbg2

There has been a lot of interest in website accessibility in the craft community recently, so I have written this tutorial to help everyone who is having trouble figuring out what to write in the alt text for their images, and for those who want to know why alt text is important.

Searching for Knitting and Crochet Patterns Online
Searching for knitting and crochet patterns online and excluding results from Ravelry #ravelry #RavelryAccessibility
If you are one of the people who can no longer use Ravelry to search for knitting patterns, you can search on any major search engine and remove the results for Ravelry. On Google, type in your search and add “-ravelry” and “-pinterest” (without the quotation marks). If you don’t mind going through pins you can leave that off.
On most other major search engines just add “-ravelry” at the end.

A Public Statement on Ravelry
A public statement from Knitting-and dot com on Ravelry, and Cassidy Forbes' recent accusations.
Cassidy Forbes from Ravelry is now sending out emails to people saying there is no problem with the new ravelry design, that it does not cause migraines and seizures and that people should “consider the sources” of such information. So far three people have come forward saying they recieved this email, or one like it that stated the same things.
For the record, I am one of the people for whom…

Maximising Accessibility in Payhip Stores Part 2
Maximising Accessibility in Payhip Stores Part 2. #a11y #accessibility #ravelry #RavelryAccessibility
After writing part one of my tutorial on increasing accessibility in Payhip stores and doing more testing, I have found more improvements that can be made, so let’s get to it!
Once again, I am supplying code that you can copy and paste so that it’s useful for the largest number of people possible. If you know CSS, I’ll try and explain what each change is doing in regards to accessibility so…

How to Maximise Accessibility on Payhip Stores
How to Maximise Accessibility on Payhip Stores, a photo tutorial
Over the past few weeks a lot of knitting and crochet designers have been adding their patterns for sale via Payhip, however their shop accessibility for purchasers is not very good. They have given us the ability to change options and add our own css to customise our shops, so I’m sharing a few fixes and workarounds that I have applied on my Payhip shop to make it as accessible as possible.
