I just finished watching Shawn takes a shot in the dark and I have two interactions I want to highlight
and
because do you think that Henry went home and a) wondered if Shawn and Abigail’s relationship status had changed and b) thought Shawn and Lassie had been fucking nasty

Henry is the best written parent any show has ever had.
Let me be perfectly clear; I don’t mean he is the best dad, i mean that they perfectly nailed the weird conflicting feelings parents often conjure in real life.
Sometimes I want to throat punch that bastard and other times I want him to say “i’m proud of you”.
I have yet to see any two people that feel the same way about Henry and I think that’s just evidence of the greatness of the character. The way people feel about Henry is entirely dependent of their relationship with their parents. This is obviously true for many characters, but I have not seen any that come close to the degree to which people project their own experience onto Henry Spencer. Some people think he is a good dad who tried his best to teach his kid what he knew and set him up for the future, others think he’s abusive scum of the earth. The fact that neither of them are entirely wrong or right proves that Henry is an incredibly complex character that perfectly displays the nuances of familial relationships.
This is even evidenced in the show itself with how they portray Shawn and Henry’s relationship, not only by how they interact with each other but also by how other characters on the show perceive their relationship. How Abigail tried to force them interact. How Shawn’s mom wasn’t even aware that Henry never told him that she was the one that left and how strained their relationship became after she did. How even though Shawn literally admits that he hates his dad in the very first episode, he goes nuts when they shot Henry and hunts him down for revenge. How Henry KEPT ALL THE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS OF SHAWNS CASES.
Ugh I could ramble about them forever. I love this show.

One of my fav Psych (2006) gags is when Henry will just be vibin, living his best life, and then BOOM there is Shawn Being Shawn.
Enjoying the morning news? Surprise! Yes that’s your idiot son now running for mayor. Are you just trying to enjoy your favourite Spanish drama? BOOM how about Shawn dressed as FedEx driver enters on stage left.

literally so fucked up* that Steve just didn't give a shit that Bucky was the winter soldier. not even for a second. he didn't even know that Bucky had been tortured and brainwashed and electro-wiped. when he said "who the hell is Bucky" that's all he needed to know. that's my friend and they fucked him up. time to save him. "I don't know if I'm worth all this, Steve" too fucking bad, we're going. went against his new friends his job his duty the UN 117 countries to save him. he's responsible for more than 2 dozen assassinations and killed innocents and his own friends under Nazi orders. yet he didn't question or hesitate for one godforsaken second. im crying

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.
like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been

Finding out that Captain America 3 was originally meant to be a direct sequel the The Winter Soldier and would’ve focused on Steve and Sam’s search for Bucky, with a focus on Steve and Bucky’s relationship, but was scrapped for Civil War because DC released Batman vs Superman has actually ruined my day. Probably my week.
I’m so upset right now, what the hell.

- 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 loving people has only 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 brought briar 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙣.ᐟ
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·

crossposted on wattpad — fatedfallings / tiktok edits — fatedfallings.
⠀⠀⠀❝intertwined : twilight fanfic ❞
embry call x briar sterling. ( male oc )
CHAPTER ONE.
WHEN BRIAR THOUGHT ABOUT HAPPINESS his mind always went to weed then his best friend, Embry. He was never good at making friends, and that was okay with him but Embry always took it upon himself to try and get him out there, mainly to Quil Altera and Jacob Black. He tried appreciating where his friend was coming from. It was very obvious the other two did not see him as a friend, and it was mutual.
Of course he was never rude to them, he had respect but just like everyone else at La Push high school they were scared of him, and if you asked any of them they would say he was your typical bad boy; tattoos, piercings, skips school, does drugs and gets into fights but if you ask Embry he would tell you the complete opposite. He would tell you that no one has ever been there, no one has stood up or comforted him like Briar has. Embry is the only person that has seen his worst and best moments, and if you asked Briar, he's the only person that will.
Briar would describe himself as fearless and bold. He wasn't scared of much but one thing he feared was being home with his parents and he always felt guilty about it. He has two living parents and a roof over his head but it was like living with two ghosts, they never talked much, only when they told him to keep his grades up, be a better son, or to ask if he has money for rent.
He works two jobs, one for groceries and one for bills. He for one liked being busy all the time, it left no time for his thoughts to run free. Overworking himself was a coping mechanism that helped tremendously but it only worried Embry more. He understood why Briar did it but when he shows up at the Call household in the middle of the night starving, hunched over, and looking like a corpse then it's a problem. He'd always be grateful for the Call family, they never treated him like an outsider and even set up a fourth dinner spot for him.
But Embry didn't laugh, in fact it angered him that his friends always joke at Briar's expense. "Don't worry I'm just kidding." Quil assured looking over at Briar but he was already getting up, choosing to dismiss the comment. "Very funny." A sarcastic remark was made by the boy. "I'm gonna dip, I need to go shopping before it's too dark out." The boys nodded watching as his figure disappeared then a loud smack was heard. "Embry what the fuck." Quil exclaimed clutching his arm.
Embry huffed, finally taking his eyes away from the trail. "You guys are mean to him." The other two muttered a sorry before getting up and grabbing Embry up. "We should get home too, it's late." Jacob muttered, still feeling guilty. He liked Briar and understands that he's more introverted but he's always been skeptical of him. "See you guys at school tomorrow."
Briar had grown accustomed to being alone, he was used to it. While the silence sometimes got too loud for Briar he loved the peaceful moments before. The crunching of the leaves or the smell after the rain. It was the little things that helped him stay calm. Anger has always been an issue with him. He has always had a shorter temper and is easily irritable it's another thing that's beyond his control but focusing on nature and being aware of his surroundings always helped.
He was so lost in his head he didn't realize he arrived at the store so he grabbed a basket and wandered to his first stop. He pulled out his list of food essentials and a pen looking for a specific brand of cheese but he heard them before he saw them— Paul, Jared and Sam were argue whispering obviously trying to be quiet but failed. He furrowed his brows trying to listen without exposing himself but the only words he caught were "Watch Embry" and "He's next".
He was so focused on what they could be meaning he didn't notice that the boy in question was in front of him waving his hand to get his attention. "Briar, are you okay?" Embry questioned trying to get his attention. "Em, when did you get here?" Briar still looked stressed but confused trying to grasp what could happen to his friend. "I didn't want you to be alone so I'm joining you and it looks like I didn't miss much!" He exclaimed snatching the list so he could start, and he was so focused on where to go next he didn't notice Sam, Paul, and Jared watching them closely but Briar did, and he didn't like it one bit.
So he grabbed Embry's arm pulling him away complaining that the store will close soon.

Here's the thing, I love Bucky but I've known Bucky for over half of my life I don't need them to show me his rooms because I know them, I've seen multiple of them from many different angles. But Yelena? I can guess it but it's way more important for me to see those, Bob? I don't know the guy I need to see those.
We all develop a level of attachment to characters we've known since our childhood/teen years it's normal but it's also important to not let that blind us. This need to constantly see Bucky behave in 1 way or else it's "occ", or to have them remind us constantly of what he went through feels like trauma porn. Recovery is a process a life long process but he's way ahead of most of the Thunderbolts in that regard, he went into politics because he's trying to at least do things in a way that follows his rules first. He's finding people like Mel or the Thunderbolts who are in positions where he has been and he's at a place where he can help guide them.
Which is also why by the end he knows that the responsible thing is to stay, he's not happy about it, but they've fallen into this position so he might as well try to use it rather than leaving when the team is full of people who could make dangerous choices at any point. He's also aware that while he (or Yelena) don't LIKE the goverment, right now they are in a position where they have some level of control over an important figure like Val. And he also knows starting a fight with someone like Alexi who says the first thing that shows up in his head or Walker who is an asshole is pointless. He has bigger things to worry about and focus on.

the first time i cried in thunderbolts was when they all worked together to save that woman from the chunk of a building
superhero movies are about people who have the ability to help people and choose to do so
that isn’t all there is but i think the mcu has gotten so focused in the weeds of the multiverse and inner group politics and whatever that they forgot that the reason we watch superhero movies is because we want to watch good guys fight bad guys, but more importantly, we want to watch them help people because that’s why they fight the bad guys in the first place

one of my fav recurring bits in psych is when shawn comes to a Sudden Realization that involves juliet being in danger and he starts racing against the clock so he can rescue her but by the time he gets there she already has the situation Fully Handled. like that girl is not a damsel in distress! she doesn’t need any man to save her! one thing about juliet o’hara is she can save herself and she will look so cool and swag while she does it 🙂↕️

I haven’t figured out why we’re so fascinated with serial killers but I think the reason people are fascinated with our show is – a lot of women watch our show. And when we meet them they say “we feel like we’re learning something.”

*Bruce invites Jason to dinner just the two of them and Jason is asking Dick for advice on what to talk about*
Dick: About this thing tonight, a couple years ago, I met this hostage negotiator at a bar and he was telling me-
Jason; Wait. This isn’t a hostage situation. This is just a dinner.
Dick: Everything in life is a hostage situation.
Jason: Okay.
