In a salaryman suit and everything.”

He sobers up when you say that, though. “Something strange? Please elaborate?”

Gained a new form…I believe is the term. We’re supposed to be helping out with a new fighter…Well, I can’t exactly say “new” as he’s already saved both our worlds before. Aichi and I felt his presence…We felt his image in the times we both were called on.”

“Thank you, Io. Glad to be back home. Though…I was with Aichi wherever he went so…I did see quite a lot. Maybe a little…Though the Units there were the same. There are a lot of strong fighters and all of them seem passionate about Vanguard just as the other fighters in Japan.”

Well, I notice. I guess one of us has to, because sometimes I don’t think you don’t notice much if it’s not about Aichi-san ne. Someone has to check crosswalks for you. 

Mm. I remember your last one. This one is more.... it suits you. It’s closer to your own usual colours. 

[tipping his head back, considering quietly.] Mm. You know his name? Is that Chrono-san’s Vanguard?

Ah, that sounds very cool. I haven’t been to America yet, but I hear they have a very wide sky. And colder weather, mostly, than we do. You’ve come home in time for the cherries, though. It’s blooming everywhere. 

Were the other Units surprised to see you all the way over there?

I do feel ready this time. But I believe we’ll be a support instead of a main. Fight by helping on the sidelines.

We had to do quite a lot back in America in the first place, sorry if we left without any warning. At least everyone’s back now.”

[His brows shoot up, after a second, and a smile spreads across his face, honestly pleased.] It is. But look at you! America did change you, you’re smiling now. You never did, before. It was good for you. 

 [a nod.] Having less pressure is good, honestly. Even though you’ve-- [waving a hand to your outfit, apparently unable to describe it.] --leveled up again. [shakes his head.] It’s fine. I knew, anyway, because I had to go back to school, of course. Welcome home, though. [inclining his head, trying his best to be polite, but he’s fighting back a smile.] 

 You have to tell me about America ne. Aichi-san was at Yale, that has its own history, were you able to look around? Can you speak English now? Are the fighters strong there?

You can just say Aichi-san, you know. I know who your Vanguard is. [a pause.] Unless you borrowed Kai-san for a bit again. 

[puffing out his cheeks.] Again? Well, it explains the cape. D’you feel ready for it?

[giving that all due thought.] I’ve been fine. It’s been a bit boring without you guys, you know? So quiet.
