We get a lot of questions about what it is exactly that our AR coating does. The short answer is it greatly reduces reflections from our IR filter glass. You can see exactly what that looks like here in the above image. The left is an uncoated filter and the right has the AR coating, both shot in infrared. This is only one contributing factor to Infrared hotspots. "Infrared and full spectrum photography grant me some experimental pleasures with digital photography that standard light do not. One of my favorite experiments was photographing fire breathers in full spectrum. "In September 2010, I bought a used D70 off of eBay and an enhanced color (665nm) hot mirror and began my journey into rebuilding the camera. Despite being riddled with sand, the D70 was in pretty good condition.
