Especially hilarious is the fact that it's been proven to be on purpose sometimes. Maybe even most of the time. I do think he generally just doesn't care to remember when it comes to non-friends or enemies, but then you've got it becoming intentional nicknames for Law and Hancock bc he thinks their actual names are too hard to consistently say lmao

Lol Nah, he doesn't use sound waves. He's more like Demyx from Kingdom Hearts, except he's not limited to water. 👍

What sort of powers does Till have in the hunterverse?

I don't have a name or official description for his ability or skills. I'm saving that for when it becomes relevant. But basically, he's able to cast elemental spells via music. Not his voice! It doesn't work via singing but through instruments. His main weapon is a guitar, which he can both play normally and swing around like a hammer. Also hunters are awakened knowing instinctively how to use their skills, so Till can just play something casually to get an effect. However, he gets his strongest spells via songs he writes himself.

Emotion plays a large role, too. If he's not feeling it, the effect will be weaker. He's an S-Rank, though, so even his weakest spells cause major damage. Also, although he can designate targets - making it so any spell only affects what he wants it to - the loud music + expelled mana can cause damage to anyone able to hear it. That's why his guild members and allies carry around specially crafted ear plugs just in case they end up in range.

Finally getting around to playing FF7 Remake all the way through, and every time he shows up, all I can think is, "I don't want to fight fucking Sephiroth 😭😭" Despite the fact that FF7 is, essentially, Fight Sephiroth The Game™ lmao He was a lot less scary in the original 😅 & he was really ridiculously ominous there, too.

This js going to sound so silly but in your ivantill hunter AU, you had a throwaway line when Till was cooking and how Ivan mentioned how culture from earth was completely eradicated and like, that hit me deep to think about , and sldhsjal I can't really put into words but like the implication that everything, thousands of years of culture, history (the good and bad and terrible) dances, story songs all destroyed to the point that Ivan didn't even know of a common utensil used is just-

Oh yeah it's completely gut-wrenching!! I'll be going more into everything that was lost and that Ivan will be learning as we go along, but just contemplating it in regards to canon is like. Haunting, I guess.

Wait but like. I'm really enjoying these female characters. They're getting male character treatment. No unnecessary physical descriptions (if I never have to see the words "plump buttocks" or "long, white legs" again, it'll be too soon) or flirting. Like! Even the ditzy, playful type hasn't flirted once! She's messed with MC, but neither of them ever treated it like anything other than what it was. They're just characters doing their own thing in the story, which shouldn't be notable, but it is.

I was also prepared to drop it when an adult female character with the appearance of an actual child showed up, but there was nothing creepy or excessive about it. She was just introduced, her young appearance was noted as odd, and then the other new characters were introduced in the same way. If anything, the focus was on the fact that people were afraid to mess with her and so they just. Didn't really interact with her at all. Including MC, who took no extra notice of her. It was super refreshing. Maybe she was inserted to be a "loli" type, but it feels like the author made her so young to contrast it with her brutal efficiency in killing people. Like they were tapping into the scary child trope instead.

Idk. This one might be different. I remain cautiously hopeful. 👀

I'm reading a novel right now that's something like three named male characters (including MC) to six female characters less than 20 chapters in, and I'm already like 🤨🤨🤨 bc this could continue to be interesting, or we could have a bland pseudo-harem. Considering the MC is a hated teacher character who is already working on improving his reputation, I don't really have high hopes lol But I'll keep reading for now, I guess. I was able to ignore it in Monstrous Genius Actor, so maybe it'll be fine here, too. We shall see!
