I have the feeling that historical tragedies are becoming more frequent and worse, so I understand why it's hard for us to not drown in pessimism.

But I do believe that hope is one of the most powerful tools we have — it's what makes us fight back. Angela Davis has this beautiful quote that says "you have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time." and I try to not forget about it when all seems lost.
