AU where Bingge goes back in time and becomes a peak lord of the same generation as SJ… only to end up with an even worse reputation than him because he doesn’t change his other behaviours that much. Like this:

YQY: Luo-shidi, we need to talk. You really can’t be falling into bed with random women whenever you leave the sect…

LBG: what am I meant to do, say no?

YQY: there’s also the matter of your disciples…

LBG: they were all adults! and I told them to leave the sect first so there’s no abuse of power!

YQY: Luo-shidi, the fact that they’re willing to leave the sect for you *is* the abuse of power

LBG: is this just a meeting to complain about my love life?

YQY: well, there is also your apparent fondness for torture to look into…

When the Luo Binghe of that timeline comes along everyone is just surprised that one of his kids hadn’t shown up earlier. He still ends up on Qing Jing but SJ actually feels a bit bad for him, having LBG as a father you didn’t even know existed is definitely worse than just being an orphan — there’s a reason he’s never looked into his own background.

(Bingge originally went back in time to just mess around/get revenge on someone who died before he could kill them/wife plot/etc. but the moment he arrived, Xin Mo merged with the version of itself in the new timeline and he ended up getting stuck).

Apart from the fact that it does Joowon a whole lot of good to be surrounded by a makeshift family in Manyang, it’s also so much better for him to be surrounded by strong women in particular.

Canonically, the women who have now all taken him under their wing as part of the family not only have strong personalities, but powerful positions too: a crime scene investigator, the team leader of the violent crimes unit, a restaurant owner who’s also a butcher.

All three women have clearly shown they can fend for themselves too. And it must amaze Joowon then, if only to erase the psychological brainwashing of his father—for YEARS—that women like his mother are weak.

Considering too, that canonically, this is set in South Korea, a country that in real life does not at all treat women with the respect and protection they deserve, it speaks powerfully of how Joowon is presented with women who, not only carved their place in society against all odds, but also—barring Do Haewon—are more innocent than all the men he has ever known.

(And barring Do Haewon’s twisted morals, it must have also fascinated Joowon to have seen not only a woman who holds significant political power, but also a mother who actually loved her son and did everything she could for him—excessively so.

When Dongsik confronted Haewon and told her that he was jealous of the love she shows for her son, imagine how Joowon—deprived of that motherly love for mostly his entire life—must have felt. At least Dongsik had experienced a semblance of it, however shortlived because of everything that happened.)

It does speak a lot about how the show was so clearly spearheaded by women: a female writer in Kim Sujin, and a female director in Shim Nayeon. The female characters in the story are treated not as accessories to men or mere foils to the male leads, but as characters who deserve to be recognized in their own right.

And most importantly, even as the show realistically highlighted how women are the vulnerable victims to men’s wrath, just because they spoke out and challenged these men, the show made it clear that these women are not to be cast aside and forgotten.

Even someone like Lee Geumhwa, who could be easily erased from the system as a nameless illegal immigrant, was someone that Joowon chose to never forget.

There’s a lot that this show puts forth when it comes to highlighting the importance of women, and it makes sure that even the men never, ever forget.

It’s one of the primary reasons too, why Han Kihwan is truly the main villain of a female-led show:

To him, women are weak and irrelevant, to be cast away and forgotten, a mere hindrance to his ambition and power.

Han Kihwan is the personification of the villain of every woman’s life in reality.

Another mini comic with Naruto. These 4 pages were inspired by a fanfiction called “come out of the ashes” by SilverStudios5140 on AO3.

The scene depicted here doesn't actually occur in the work, rather it was my imagination how the story could continute afer I read chapter 36. So it's only half a spoiler, for anyone who might be interested to read the story (still, sry for spoilers... ^^').

By the way, this scene plays in the secret base of ROOT. I was lazy with the background, so I guess it's hard to tell... ^^'

Also a short explanation for anyone who's confused about Minato calling Naruto Raijin: The fanfic is a time travel story where Naruto travels to the past to change the future for the better. To hide his real identity he takes on the role of Raijin, Minato's supposed lost younger brother.

It’s been a long time since i’ve drawn in this style but it was fun! ^^

I leaned myself outside the window and put a little bit japanese in there because I think it looks pretty. Hope there isn’t a mistake there, my modest japanese knowledge has gotten a bit rusty.
