Anyone else noticing how all of this is happening at once.

Age verification for Wikipedia and Spotify. YouTube banning accounts for under-16s, and rolling out AI to detect if someone is actually 18 based on their viewing history (100% guaranteed to falsely mark autistic adults as children at an irregularly high rate, btw). Banning porn off Steam and itch. Attempts to ban and IP range-block VPNs. Age verification for not just porn, but anywhere you could maybe possibly see porn, including basic social media features like DMs.

What the fuck is happening. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, what the fuck are they preparing for

Steam, Itch.io and the banning of explicit and LGBT+ Content. What can we do?

With no warning, Itch.io, a site where many host their indie games, comics, books and more, has started purging and shadowbanning explicit and LGBT+ works. Creators got no warning. And if they were still owed payouts from these works, Itch.io is saying they won't give them their money as they 'broke the rules'. Rules that were only just set in place, with no warning, and therefore no way for creators to try and draw out their money or delete these 'offending' works before they got banned under the new rules.

So Itch.io has been the most recent to fall to the demands of a group that's been contacting Visa and Mastercard and convincing them to threaten sites/businesses with 'stop selling what we consider to be explicit content on your sites of we'll stop allowing your site to have transactions with Visa and Mastercard'. Steam folded, and now Itchio has too. And a reminder earlier this year Gumroad also stopped allowing explicit content, further back than that Patreon banned some kinks and fetishes even if it's depicted in fiction not real life, and I don't have to explain to you guys the great Tumblr explicit content ban of 2018.

And as always remember this doesn't stop with sexually explicit work as LGBT+ stories and people are often labelled as explicit and already we're seeing works being taken off Itch.io that are about LGBT+ and especially trans stories. Other non-sexually explicit works I've seen already getting shadowbanned, delisted or deleted are SFW games featuring furries/anthros, SFW dress up games (because when you take the clothes the model is nude), and the aforementioned SFW games that include LGBT+ characters and stories.

I'm compiling here information I've seen around various social medias, mostly Bluesky, because I haven't seen all these things shared over here.

I don't personally have explicit content on itch, but I had been considering one day selling things on there and I do currently have explicit content on my Patreon, my main source of income, and am terrified that Patreon is going to fold next (if anyone knows alterative for hosting audio content behind a paid subscription service please let me know so I can start maybe making a back-up in case the worst happens). Because for me personally if Patreon goes next, it's not like I can go out and easily get another job. Not only because in general finding and getting a job is difficult enough, but I'm autistic and have chronic pain and have been constantly getting sick or new pains over the last few years and don't feel safe being trans in the UK right now and all of that combined rules me out of a lot of jobs and makes me feel unsafe to apply to any. I'm so grateful I've been able to make a community around my work, but if Patreon caves next and I just leave my SFW posts on Patreon... 10% of my Patreons are signed up to the SFW tier, 90% are signed up to the explicit tier... I know if Patreon caves I will go from someone living comfortably who's searching to move out of my parents so I can live in a safer environment to someone who can no longer even afford the rent I pay to my parents. I'll try and get an alterative found and set up in case that happens and I can only hope you guys will follow me to whatever other site I have to set up... but it feels unlikely that people will get a whole new account on a whole new payment provider just to support me on a website they might never have heard of...

Creators have had their work removed off Itch.io with no warning and since it's been removed for 'breaking the rules' (rules that were suddenly in place with no warning) they aren't entitled to get their payouts. Just like other sites such as Youtube and Twitch and Etsy, Itch.io hold onto money from their users in a wallet and then give them payouts. So there is money creators have made, are owed, that Itch.io is not giving to them.

People are recommending that if you still have works on Itch.io to turn down the revenue sharing to 0% so that Itch.io no longer takes a cut or your money if you no longer want to support Itchi.io finically but don't want to remove your works from their platform. X

Other Bluesky posts and calls to action I've seen:

radiantg.bsky.social is asking for anyone on Itch.io who got their game deindexed, removed , or payouts turned off to reach out to them (espeically if you make explicit and/or LGBT+ games) for a piece of journalism about what is happening.

sleepyhart.bsky.social is making a thread of all the games that Itch.io has censored/removed from their site search function. Obviously be aware this will include 18+ only games, games with sexual content and other dark or heavy themes.

thetransfemininereview.com wants you to reach out to them if you're a trans creator on Itch.io who is being affected by this so they can make an accurate report. they say 'authors' in their post and I'm unsure if they also want game devs to reach out.

dropdownbear.bsky.com wants you to reach out if you have purchased things on Itch.io that you can now no longer access because of this ban. they can include them in a report being filed with the Australian Consumer Commission as this may be a violation of Australian Consumer rights. If you are Australian you can no longer access things you purchased of Itch.io you can report directly with this guide.

It's a scary time for adult creators and sex workers. It's a scary time to be trans. Support creators. And if anyone knows of any alternate payment providers that allow explicit work, and/or alternate websites to Itch (and in case things get worse, also give me Patreon alternates please) where people can host, sell and/or offer paid subscriptions to writing, images, videos, audios, games and more please leave them in the replies. And please help share this post, the posts I'm linking too, and any other resources you can find.

they are barring wikipedia. they are barring spotify. they are barring important news - both national news and world news. they are barring mental health forums and LGBTQ related things and so much more. this is not about protecting children, it has never been about protecting children.

the online safety act is an insane privacy breach, and if that does not scare you then you need to think harder about it. it is going to end up in a massive data leak - all the information is getting collected by random third party systems. can we trust them? no. can we even hold them accountable? no. because the government couldn’t even make their own system to do these age checks.

and i hear you - it is important that kids don’t see porn. but even if all this was about protecting kids, it’s sloppy and useless. it’s easy (for now) to get around with a vpn and the only thing the act doing is censoring things that it shouldnt. if the government wanted to protect kids, they would do something concrete about it - they would be putting more funding into education, for example.

of course the policy isnt called “national surveillance”. they’re not going to call it that. everything will be hidden behind things that people want.

so email your MP, and tell other people that this is WAY more than blocking porn from children - this is the first step towards national surveillance.

Can we talk about MC and their "original deaths" in Monster x Mediator..?

So I've noticed a lot of people when talking about bad endings/original deaths from specific characters only focusing on what each character did/how MC was killed, but I have never saw anyone wonder what did Y/N do to "deserve" those deaths At start I want to say I don't want to excuse anything that happened, just show that Y/n in those bad endings for this moments is always guilty of something (yet again, guilty �� the way of death is excused and is fine) WARNING! SA TOPIC and spoilers

1. Death from being shot

This one is the shortest I will write about, it only goes about MC trying to scam whoever talks to us by Walkie Talkie by running away after stealing money they were supposed to get after job being done. On one hand obviously there would be people who also would do the same when having a chance to escape from a mysterious deal, but on the other hand.. my brother, you literally by agreeing to this suspicious e-mail could have signed up for idk, harvesting your organs 💀 (Definitely not a reference to "Today I'm Harvesting You!")

2. The bad ending: "Grape" Well this one will be very controversional, but Y/N was both a victim of SA from "Nick" or Nauseaxe_404 or whatever, but also was the one who did verbally and a bit physically SA him too. Hear me out tho before you cancel me-

So, how come does the whole situation happens? We first innocently compliement Nick! All nice here, nothing to complain about. 404 gets embarrassed, y/n says they have more stuff to compliment about him, and then slowly we are building up MC being weirdo.

But before that let's remind ourselves Nick is aware he is.. not the best mentally. He admits that a lot in talk and another ending (forgot the name of it, it was with snapping neck), plus you can obviously see it from how he is written. Ain't no way nobody noticed that. He mentions he gets too excited and wants to do stuff when being in such a state and that holding his axe helps him, because he is aware that if he won't control himself, he will hurt MC. So when the Y/n says about complimenting him again he refuses

Why? BECAUSE HE IS AWARE OF HIM NOT BEING ABLE TO HOLD BACK MENTALLY AND THE REST OF HIM DOESN'T WANT TO HURT Y/N

Anyway, some more of him begging for us to stop and muttering that "he doesn't want to.." and MC comes in with this text

Don't know how about y'all but I read it in a mocking tone, considering next option that leads to this specific ending. To me, it is like MC plays with emotions 404 has for whatever dumb reason they have in this walkthrough.

Talking about next option, let's take a look at it… what is it called? Ah, right-

"Touch him"

How do you feel about this title? Touching someone. Taking in the fact that previously they begged us to stop, refused our advances, even tho we are their idol? Someone who often holds mental power as their authoritet? One and only? Especially when they adore us so bad.. sorry, but even if it was just a simple touch on his chest, just reverse the situation. Even more - Nauseaxe_404 begs us to stop again and Y/N says "and I don't want to". Imagine it is Y/n who refuses, who begs to stop and him saying that he doesn't want to. Tho you don't have to - it happens later in this ending. Or imagine it happening in real life, but instead of man being touched without his consent, it is a woman. I don't want to sound as if I blame Y/n for what happened next, because Y/n didn't deserve that, but Y/n also didn't have any right to touch him. I may seem a bit over-dramatic, but it is one of many toxic over-sexualizations in our culture. Both men and women aren't believed when they are SA survivors - women because "no way he would ever do that"/"are you sure you didn't consent it?" or any other bs people say, and men because "if I were you I would have enjoyed it"/"was she pretty?"/"lucky boy got laid without doing anything!". Both are hurting. I especially take care of both as someone who knows both male and female SA survivors, both who were denied for those stupid statements. And here in this case I didn't see anyone mention the fact that Y/n is also SA-ing him too. But that obviously doesn't excuse 404 for what he did to them. It will never. I say it to just show that MC is not 101% pure victim in this situation and didn't do anything wrong.

3. Bad ending: "Endless death sentence for the charlatan"

I love Sir Knight with my whole heart lol Anyway, Y/n after getting his master's sword out gets this choice of either of asking him to get out of his room or "boss him around". The second one we start by humiliating him by requesting him to dance for us. We hear for the first time there our ancestor's and his master's voice tells us that we should respect him. Then we can either comply to the voice or.. literally the game calls it:

"Abuse your power"

well how lovely it sounds! If we choose it, we go from humiliating to straight-forward abusing him<3 slashing his armor with the sword, punishing him when he flinches.. humiliating him again..

yeah.. the voice appears again and we don't have any more option to choose, MC decides themselve to keep being cruel, until our ancestor has enough and explodes our insides, giving us shit-talk and cursing our soul before we die

My conclusions

So I thought about it all and all those deaths are happening only when the job is failed/MC is not acting right or moral. It leads me to the conclusion that none of those deaths are canon in the story-line and that Y/n is actually a good hearted character, so any wrong, rude or cruel choice is just alternative universe for the main time-line
