Um. Let me start over.

I was a shinobi at jounin-level in my former village, but due to... circumstances... I was instructed privately since childhood. The elders from the village led me to believe my parents were from Konoha and I still don't know if that's true or if they were just using me for the mission so after I came here, I decided I didn't want to go back to my... previous circumstances. I couldn't stay here either, so I just. Travelled the world as a civilian musician.

I returned to Konoha upon Pain's attack, though, first as a civilian but then I enlisted to help rebuild. Tsunade-sama cleared me for chuunin-level work after due process with T&I and some low stakes missions to earn her trust, and after the war she cleared me of all suspicions and added me to the regular mission roster.

I still feel I lack proper instruction for team based missions, though, so that's why I thought of looking for a mentor.

Speaking of mentoring... Of course I wouldn't mind helping you out with your singing!

I was wondering if you had free time one of those days to give me some pointers... You see, I didn't study at the Academy nor had a jounin sensei, and I'm finding it hard to improve my skills without a proper mentor. No pressure though! We could just have a casual sparring session and go from there?

Hmm, this is a tough one. Have you had any shinobi training, or are you trying to figure things out on your own? There’s a whole foundation that you’d need from the Academy, but you might still be able to get a jounin sensei if you work really hard and impress them. What are your goals? If you want to become a shinobi later in life, I’m not really sure how that’s done, but it’s worth going to the Academy higher-ups. I can give you pointers on kenjutsu, but maybe a kenjutsu class would benefit you more first, if there’s something like that. If you want to become a shinobi, though, can I ask why? Don’t you have a career as a musician now?

As for your request, I'm afraid family registries concerning shinobi lines aren't available under chunin clearance. If you'd like to submit a research request through the Intelligence department with valid enough reasoning, though, they'd probably be happy to pull the documents you're searching for from the archives. Try Sato-san on the third floor— she loves blueberries.
