7th Single Announced!
Koroazu’s 7th single [ RESOLVE ] has been announced! It will be the Ending Theme Song for the anime “ バキ “ or Baki that will be airing on Netflix. It is scheduled to be released July 25th of this year. Here is a translated message from Koroazu about Baki.
It's a series that I used to read as a child because my brother liked it, so to be able to sing a song for it really caught me by surprise, and I'm really looking forward to it! The lyrics reflects the deep love Kozue-chan has from his point of view, so I think this is a very heated song that perfectly fits the world of Baki!

LisAni Magazine Interview
Here’s a translation for Koroazu’s part of an interview LisAni did for some of the Million Live seiyuus in which Koroazu voices Shizuka Mogami.
When thinking of singing a special [Precious Grain] for Budokan, I ended up singing with a smile
What are the things that you keep in mind when you’re singing as Mogami Shizuka?
Tadokoro Azusa I think that I want to show of all the different sides of Shizuka. It’s not like saying “Shizuka is like this” and already having an answer for it, but instead having already grown alongside Shizuka, and wanting to continue growing with her, is what I think about when I sing. At first it wasn’t that easy, I kept thinking that I had no other way but to become Shizuka and was filled with those kinds of emotions, but after experiencing all kinds of stages, I began creating tasks for myself that I want fulfilled for that live.
If this stage had any tasks or themes that you held on to and wanted to tackle, please tell us about it.
Tadokoro For the [Precious Grain] performance in “THE IDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE! 4th LIVE TH@NK YOU for SMILE!!” (Shortened as 4th LIVE), it is a song that I have sang many times before during lives, that song for Shizuka is a song of hope of wanting to sing at Budokan, a very precious place for her, so I’m sure if it were Shizuka she’d be very jolly and have joyful feelings, or the happiness of finally being able to come here, the ecstatic feelings from being able to stand on the Budokan stage would probably surface onto her expressions, was what I thought. Originally the atmosphere for [Precious Grain] is a little difference, but when I thought of wanting to sing a special [Precious Grain] for Budokan, I ended up singing with a smile.
What kind of a place do you think Budokan is for Shizuka?
Tadokoro To Shizuka who is always working hard, facing the immense pressure of having to produce results within a set period of time, it’s a breath of fresh air. It’s a big enough stage that she can even puff out her chest and tell her parents about it, and there’s the sense of accomplishment which I think she can be proud of, I also think it’s a place that connects with Shizuka on a very deep level. Of course, I too felt really happy to be able to stand on Nippon Budokan, but I think that Shizuka’s happiness goes way beyond that of mine.
Please tell us about any stage or incidents during the 4th LIVE that left an impression on you.
Tadokoro As expected, the one that left the biggest impression is being able to express Shizuka’s joy of being able to stand on Budokan through [Precious Grain], and also [プリムラ(Primula)] was memorable in the sense that a new Shizuka was shown during that song. The cuteness that was fitting for Shizuka’s age, I don’t really have much experience singing songs related to love even up to now. Shizuka’s always acting aloof, and has that ‘trying to live her life in a hurry’ atmosphere with her doesn’t she (lol). For this song, I tried to express the feelings of falling into a warm, gentle love when I sang it. For [Primula], the 3 of us, (Saitou) Yuka-san and Mikku (Itou Miku) kept on practicing for it, and during the wait times when one of use would start singing to practice, the other 2 would join in singing along. We worked hard with happiness and sorrow by our sides!
You appeared as a surprise guest for [Flooding] and [君との明日を願うから(Kimi to no Ashita wo Negau Kara)].
Tadokoro I was super happy to be able to sing [Flooding]! Crescendo Blue is a very precious team and a huge existence for Shizuka, so having all members on-board and appearing on stage made me really happy. We received cheers from everyone at the venue so loud that it almost felt like it could tingle us, and we could feel that as expected, everyone was waiting for this. The day before, I re-read the [Gessan] comic to refresh the scene in my head and sang it with those emotions in me. Singing with those 5 on stage felt very reassuring, and I sang it feeling honestly invincible at the time.
On the last day, you sang [君との明日を願うから(Kimi to no Ashita wo Negau Kara)] with Machico-san and Yamazaki Haruka-san, how was that?
Tadokoro I was happy. The 3 of us appeared on different days for 4th LIVE, so up to the last day it felt like we were scattered away from each other, and I finally got to return to Pyon-san (Yamazaki Haruka)’s side. Pyon-san was beside me, and I could hear Machico-san’s voice. It really made me feel like “This is where I belong”, it was a lot of fun.
Apart from 4th LIVE, in “THE IDOLM@STER 765 MILLIONSTARS HOTCHPOTCH FESTIV@L!!” that happened in October, the [アライブファクター(Alive Factor)] performance you did with Imai Asami-san was intense and definitely memorable.
Tadokoro I’m happy that [アライブファクター(Alive Factor)] is song that is like a challenge for Shizuka’s growth. I performed this song with Imai-san previously at a release event, and compared to then I think I carried myself differently for this performance. Last time my feelings were more of “Please somehow, let me be able to keep up with Imai-san”, but this time my feelings were more like “Let’s do this!” (lol). Chihaya-san is Shizuka’s aspiration, so if it were Shizuka, because of her respect towards her is why she would let out everything she’s got at that time and challenge it, is what I think. Not just with strength and power, but with underlying sound pitches and how she includes her feelings into the song, she would try her best to express everything she has. Singing while keeping a courteous expression and being aware of how much power is being let out. Like that, being able to increase the bar for her own goals is a sign of her growth to me.
Did you discuss about what you want to show on stage beforehand with Imai-san?
Tadokoro We didn’t really talk about it. Imai-san also left it up to me, so we both went on stage and performed how we wanted while getting a feel for each other. When we were done, Imai-san looked really happy and was grinning from ear to ear when she gave me a handshake, and that made me very happy.
I want to turn my experiences into Mogami-chan’s weapons, and level up with her
Please tell us about how you will like to continue on as Shizuka from now on, your ideals or goals as the voice behind Shizuka.
Tadokoro What I have always thought is that all the experience and lessons I have learned from my individual activities and work, I will sublimate all of that and turn all those into Mogami-chan’s weapons. I have various kinds of experience piled up from my individual work, ranging across various things, and giving the things I learned and acquired from it to Mogami-chan. By rinsing and repeating those steps, it will be nice if she will level up from it.
From your solo activities as a singer, is there anything that you have managed to use to feed back into Shizuka?
Tadokoro At first it was the two-step, that’s how I was able to properly walk from end to end on the stage , I wouldn’t have been able to do any of that if I didn’t practice it. And now, when I’m told, “You’re free to move however you like”, I’m able to move around to a certain degree. I think that my solo experience plays a big part in that.
Is it to say your dancing skills have improved?
Tadokoro No, for my solo lives, there aren’t really any dance moves. But from there, I learned how to express myself without depending on choreography. For example, for the [アライブファクター(Alive Factor)] Budokan performance we were talking about earlier, when compared to when I sang it previously, I’ve become a lot better at being able to express the song and the emotions with little to no choreography to rely on. In the beginning whenever there was no choreography, I would be at lost about how to move and where to put my hands, but from the experience from singing songs and being on stages not as Shizuka, I’ve been able to broaden my skills. Recently, Mogami-chan received a new solo song, [SING MY SONG] which is her first ballad song. I thought about how I could express that gentleness of Mogami-chan’s. I thought that it would be nice to be able to convey how Mogami-chan walks her life to the people listening to the song, and to increase the level of expressiveness in this one song.
Q&A
What part about Mogami Shizuka do you like?
How hardworking and serious she is. I learn a lot from seeing her strict self.
Who is another idol you like apart from the one you voice?
Toyokawa Fuka-san.
What is your favorite song in the [IDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE!] discography?
Shooting Stars.
What kind of songs would you like to sing in the future?
Harmonized duet songs!
Favorite live outfit or item?
4thLIVE [BlueMoon Theater] (2nd day)’s blue outfit! Being absolutely blue, and sparkling, it’s wonderful!
A word to Producers around the world.
Producer, without losing focus up til now, and from now on too . . . . . . Please don’t take your eyes of me okay!

Nizista So What? Interview Part 5
Finally we’ve reached the end of the Nizista interview! With this done we’ll look into translating other current interviews or articles.
Phantom composition [I want to rear an otter]
The 14th and last song in the album is [ころあるき (Koro Aruki)]. The title of this song isn’t something you’d expect from the person themself to think up since it’s very jokeful.
Tadokoro That’s what I like about it (lol). I really like 忘れんねよ(Wasurenneyo)-san. To say it’s jokingly serious, in turn it turns into something fancy and gives it a unique impression is what I like about it.
How was it when you first received the song?
Tadokoro It felt so much like me that I got embarrassed. But, it’s a very Wasurenneyo-like song, so it was an amazing song that felt a little nostalgic and tear jerking. When I listened to Shibata-san singing the acoustic version of the song in the demo version after I received it, as a fan it really moved me, making me think “I want to listen to this forever!” (lol). It’s a song fitting as the last song of the album, a song that can reach into people’s hearts. The lyrics are very close to reality, and the title [Koro Aruki] stands out with its uniqueness, it’s amazing!
The lyrics are very Shibata-like, being very straightforward with its meaning isn’t it.
Tadokoro That’s right. I really like the bare feeling from Wasurenneyo-san, so it makes me very happy.
In the other songs, there are certain phrases that Tadokoro-san is aware of, but this one is just interesting as it is.
Tadokoro It’s conversely quite refreshing (lol). In a previous meeting, he listened to my singing and said “I’ll try making this,” was how this song was made. But, at the start when we were talking, we actually decided on the title [かわうそ飼いたい (I want to rear an otter)] (lol).
Otter!?
Tadokoro When he asked me “What is your favourite animal?”, I replied “Cats and otters”, then he said “Then, [I want to rear an otter] could be the title” was how it went. When I thought that I could make a song like that, it turned out to be [Koro Aruki] (lol).
Who knows, there’s a possibility that your next song could be [I want to rear an otter].
Tadokoro With pleasure!! (lol).
If he were to make another song for me, I will be very grateful!
Because you like Wasurenneyo-san is why it managed to turn into reality.
Tadokoro That’s right. A staff member who knew him helped make the offer for me. It was a love call (lol). Wasurenneyo-san is very straight to the point, or rather they show off all their negative sides too, and I like that undecorated look they carry with them. That way of living is in turn, cool. Without putting on a mask, letting out everything, including the dark and dirty feelings, shouting out as you are is a wonderful thing.
Just like that, do you normally let out your feelings as they are?
Tadokoro Not really I think. Maybe with friends I trust, but even then I don’t think they like listening to gloomy stories, so I try to not let it out too often.
There has been more talk about “growth”, I think that there’s a difference between growth as an actress and growth as a person. Is there anything about yourself that you feel has grown physically or mentally?
Tadokoro I think I’ve gotten better at taking in criticism. Or maybe my feelings have just become numb? (lol).
If I were to tweak your words, I’d say your spirit of breaking through/ability to ignore has gotten better.
Tadokoro That’s right. In a way, I’ve become able to freeze my feelings from certain things. Because it’ll be really agonizing if I were to take everything in.
It’s not just an on off kind of thing, but you’ve become able to let out your full power even when you’re on.
Tadokoro That’s what I think.
That’s along the lines what’s in [そう上手くいかないものです。 (Sou Umaku Ikanai Mono Desu.)] isn’t it.
Tadokoro That’s exactly it. Come to think of it, I’ve started crying a lot less too. But that makes me kind of sad. In the past I used to cry at almost anything. . . . . . Maybe it’s because I’ve become an adult?
Sad tears, frustrated tears, happy tears, did you cry out all of them?
Tadokoro I cried all of them. I didn’t know any other way but crying, express everything with “crying” was what I thought, but recently the tears have not been coming. But I still do cry at movies and television shows (lol).
To invoke the thought that “Koroazu’s live is not a miss/failure”
Apart from the new songs, you played the guitar for [スーパースタールーザー(Super Star Loser)] in this time’s recording. How did the recording go?
Tadokoro The way of recording it was completely different from a singing recording and that really surprised me. The experience of only having the amp in the recording booth while I was outside playing was a new thing for me. But, I never thought the day that I would play a guitar, what more have it on a CD would ever come, so it was a very wonderful experience.
Playing the guitar alongside the original guitarist, Yamamoto Yohske-san arranged the piece to make it sound even better.
Tadokoro Yeah. It became a lot more flavorful. In a previous tour, it was my first time (playing the guitar) and it was right as I made my appearance on stage (lol).
The practice must have been hard for it, how was it?
Tadokoro Yamamoto Yohske-san was teaching me how to play the guitar, and during rehearsals I would receive advice from my fellow band members as well.
Hearing the name again, you had an amazing person as a teacher didn’t you.
Tadokoro It was super luxurious. Furthermore, he was super kind and even complimented me. The first time I played the guitar on stage was on [アニメ紅白歌合戦 (Anime Kouhaku Uta Gassen)] where I collaborated with KEYTALK-san. Then, the tour was my first time playing the guitar whilst singing on stage and it was really difficult. At first I couldn’t concentrate on singing at all and was worried if it’ll turn out alright, but with everyone’s cooperation and rehearsing over and over again, the final result managed to turn out fine.
Is there a possibility that we’ll see the guitar again?
Tadokoro Well~, what should I do (lol). I don’t think I can show any more than that, because I’ve shown all that I can do.
If you say it like that, I’ll be expecting you to play the guitar in your upcoming tour
Tadokoro Ahahahah! (Laughing while evading the question)
You have showed another level of growth through this time’s album, which can be heard in the music as well. What do you think you’ll do from now on to show us another plus alpha (Phrase used by Japanese like the meaning ‘level up’)?
Tadokoro Rather than to do something different, I want to sing more songs like this time’s, where a lot of emotions are incorporated into the songs. Of course, I also want to extend and better my singing skills.
You have an upcoming live tour scheduled for the end of the year. What kind of being would you like the “Tadokoro Azusa on stage” to be?
Tadokoro Let me see. . . . . . I want to be a person that can make people think “It’ll definitely be fun”. I’ll be happy if they think “Koroazu’s live is not a miss/failure”.
As expected, the feelings of “I want everyone to be having fun” is strong isn’t it. In the beginning we also talked about how a Tadokorock that “makes people smile” is also good.
Tadokoro No matter they may be, “I want to move their heart” is what I think. I want them to have fun to the fun songs, become sad on the sad songs. But I don’t want it to be a forced thing, so I want everyone to be able to enjoy the albums and lives in the way that they like.

Nizista So What? Interview Part 4
Making up for lost time and posting quickly, Part 5 will be uploaded in the near future!
I want to answer to the challenge from Q-MHz
Among your new songs, three of them were handled by Q-MHz. First off, the first song [涙one of them (Namida one of them)] is a high tension song isn’t it.
Tadokoro It is undoubtedly fitting as the first song. The last phrase of the song is the album’s title [So What?] too. There was laughter after that, but this was really hard to do. Like a person that likes to laugh at people, I was told to make it feel like I was making fun of other people and I had to challenge it many times.
That definitely has the [So What?] feel to it. After creating this time’s album, do you find yourself feeling that way in your day to day life now?
Tadokoro That’s…….right. I think that I have it when the time is right. Because I’m quite obstinate, when something I cannot yield happens, I’ll have feelings like [So, what about it?]. It’s not a feeling that I don’t have at all.
From now on, do you want to become a [So What?] kind of Tadokoro Azusa?
Tadokoro As a human that often stands in front of other people, I think that a part like that is necessary to have, I think that it is good to have the will to go through with your intentions. I want to be able to properly hold on to the things I cannot yield.
The melody and performance for [Pajama KINGDOM] leaves a pretty deep impression.
Tadokoro Q-MHz made this with a [Go Go Song] image in mind. I didn’t know a thing about [Go Go], so when Tashiro (Tomokazu)-san came to the recording, he showed it to me saying [This is Go Go] (lol).
I also really like the image of a girl resting in her room that the lyrics have. It’s like she is the king/queen of the room, saying [If love was subtitles, it will be something stupid wouldn’t it], while having her legs outstretched in the air as she rolls around on her bed, kind of feeling is cute. A little mischievous, hard to deal with girl, but her cuteness turned into wonderful lyrics, is what I think.
How did it feel singing a cute song like that?
Tadokoro I sang it with the image of that girl. I think that there is a part of me that is like that, so I exaggerated that and sang while playing around with the arrangement and adding in timbres.
So you were also imagining yourself playing around.
Tadokoro But it’s still hard for me to do that (lol). I cannot play without thinking that I am playing.
The other Q-MHz song is [Aiming for Utopia]. What kind of song is this?
Tadokoro It’s a stadium rock song that everyone can sing along to. The song is full of parts where everyone can sing along, so I think I will be singing this song a lot at lives (lol).
What about the contents of the song?
Tadokoro The protagonist for this song is a little devilish and I think that’s kind of cute. It has a [Come over here] kind of provocative-like feeling.
You’re now able to make provocative expressions in recent stages too can’t you…..apart from the usual you.
Tadokoro I thought that I would work hard and aim to be a small devil, but I can’t keep up (lol).
Including the existing songs, the number of your songs that were made by Q-MHz have increased considerably. Was there anything that changed after recording with them that many times?
Tadokoro The songs themselves have evolved, I’m challenging harder and even more difficult things. I’m very happy that they thought [Let’s have Tadokoro Azusa try this], and I want to answer/respond to it. I also learn a lot despite being busy during recordings. Not only in the technical aspect, but things like the what length of a sound would be good, they give directions to even the small, detailed parts, so I think that I was able to grow through this album.
So, does this mean that the difficulty will further increase in the future?
Tadokoro It would be nice if that were the case. I will do my best so that they will think that I can do (Songs with higher difficulty) it!
I wanted to sing songs that are filled with emotions
Please tell me about the lead song, [Story Teller].
Tadokoro It’s a really straight forward rock song with a subtle melancholic melodies, the lyrics will also touch your heart when you listen to it. The song is saying something along the lines of [Everything that has happened up to now is not useless/pointless], it’s a song that can give you a push on your back when you’re lost.
The lyrics, composition and arrangement were handled by Shota Horie-san. What are your impressions on Horie-san’s song?
Tadokoro It’s really refreshing and has a youthful feeling, I very much like the realistic aspect of the song.
The first song you received from Horie-san was?
Tadokoro It’s [Straight Forward] (The coupling song for the single “君との約束を数えよう(Kimi to no Yakusoku o Kazeyou)”). Even then when I heard the demo for the song, I thought [This is youth!]. It felt like all my memories from my high school days came rushing back to me, and it was also my first time composing lyrics.
In the Music Video that was uploaded on YouTube, there was a duo comic act you did with Horie-san…… no there was a talk too, right.
Tadokoro (lol). There was no script so it couldn’t be helped.
Are you usually like that?
Tadokoro That recording was actually the first time that I have properly talked to Horie-san. That was also my first time hearing about Horie-san’s impressions and thoughts on me. But when I received these lyrics, I felt like the message of the song was affirming the activities I’ve done so far saying, [There is definitely a wonderful future waiting for me from here on out], and that made me happy.
What were your thoughts when you saw the completed Music Video?
Tadokoro The shoot was taken in a dim/darkly lit ruins so I didn’t know how the completed work would look like, but it became really refreshing (lol). I thought it would have a more wild feeling but it turned out refreshing, and the heat was conveyed too so the Music Video turned out to look really good.
youtube
I would like to further ask about the new songs. Continuing with the fourth song, it’s [Gimme Shelter・Brightness].
Tadokoro [Gimme Shelter・Brightness] is a song that requires technique, so it was really hard. The speed of the song is fast, and I had to roll my tongue which made me go [Hii~]. It’s my first time rolling my tongue in one of my songs.
Could you roll your tongue since you were young?
Tadokoro A long time ago, there was a CM for a gum that had tongue rolling in it that became popular. It was then that I started practicing it with everyone else. That’s how I learned (lol). I couldn’t roll my tongue at first, but I was able to after practicing.
That leads/connects us back to what we were talking about before about the contents of [Story Teller].
Tadokoro That’s really true. There’s nothing that is useless/pointless.
[Crying] is another song that has a different atmosphere.
Tadokoro This was a song that I requested, [I want to sing a song that’s like murmuring and singing in the rain while crying, and that is filled with emotions] and it was made for me.
It’s like fluctuating emotions, or like the emotions burst out part way isn’t it. I get the impression that this is a song that was sung with a lot of emotions.
Tadokoro That is exactly the type of song that I wanted to sing. I thought that it would be nice to expand on the part of my singing with emotions, this time I requested for a song that couldn’t be saved, and had a gloomy conclusion. The other songs were more or less songs that showed hope, but this is the only song that couldn’t be saved until the end, it was called the ‘Despair Song’ (lol).
So you wanted to sing a song that had the feelings of despair in it.
Tadokoro That’s right. So I did the recording in a frazzled and disheartened manner (lol). It tired me out both physically and mentally.
How was [僕は空を飛べない (I cannot fly in the sky)]?
Tadokoro It’s a medium-tempo song that was created by Tabuchi Tomoya-san (UNISON SQUARE GARDEN), it’s a song about the time I wrecked my throat during my tour.
TL Note: Koroazu had her Dilemma Tour in Spring of 2017 and had to postpone several performances due to a throat illness.
The thing that you remember from that time as you are singing this song is?
Tadokoro To be precise, I was told, [That is what it actually means] only after the recording was over. So, during the recording I had vague thoughts of, [This really did happen]. I only understood that it was indeed those things after I was done with the recording.
It is also a song that you sing from all the experiences you’ve been through, be it good or bad, right.
Tadokoro That’s right. There really was so many things that happened……

Nizista So What? Interview Part 3
Apologies for the hiatus, we’ll get content rolling again ASAP Here’s Part 3 of the Nizista Interview. Read on!
Real life words and precious memories were put into the lyrics
You composed the lyrics for two songs in this time’s album. [そう上手くいかないものです(Sou Umaku Ikanai Monodesu.)] has quite an impact from just the title, did you think this up yourself?
Tadokoro The title was decided after the recording where we had everyone do a vote, and that’s how we decided on this (lol).
You’ve talked about how hard it is to compose lyrics before. How was it for this song?
Tadokoro The title was decided after the recording where we had everyone do a vote, and that’s how we decided on this (lol).
You’ve talked about how hard it is to compose lyrics before. How was it for this song?
Tadokoro During they key check for this song, the lyrics were still in the temporary/provisional stage, it felt like I was just scribbling out the lyrics. [How is this?] [If this isn’t good then I don’t think I want to write anymore] was what I was feeling, but then [This is good. We’ll go with this direction for the song] was what they said to me. So, this was the quickest lyrics that I’ve ever done (lol). Usually I would be really troubled and pondering a lot while writing, but I scribbled this out so I’m still nervous wondering if it’s okay (lol).
Rather than as an artist, you wrote the lyrics as the usual Tadokoro Azusa.
Tadokoro That was what is was like. I just wrote what I wanted to say.
But if we were to hide the staff credits, the song that will often be questioned, “Who’s the lyrics composer?” might be this song (lol).
Tadokoro Because the real intentions are also there (lol). The contents of the song had a, “Is it okay if we take a little break?” kind of feeling, so we called it the “break song”.
The concept of “taking a break” is not just backward facing/negative, but the lyrics also have a forward-facing/positive meaning doesn’t it.
Tadokoro That’s right. “Take a break first, then start working hard again”, are actual words that I use. Even when I’m down and think that I can’t go on, I don’t want to quit, so I’ll first take a break then continue moving forward.
If it was your own words, then does that mean the last phrase is something you want everyone to say to you?
Tadokoro That’s right. Something like when everything has ended without any happenings. To be told, “You’ve worked hard”, I want to be complimented, is what this song is.
(TL Note: The last phrase in the song is [お疲れさん よく頑張った] which means [Thank you for your hard work, you worked hard])
Please tell me about the lyrics of [I can’t live without you.] too.
Tadokoro It was my first time composing lyrics for a ballad. Honestly……this song, the cat that I raised in my parent’s house (Neko-chin) passed away, so I wrote the lyrics based on that.
Eh!?
Tadokoro I couldn’t bring myself to talk about it. So I thought that I would put it into the lyrics and tell everyone that way. She has always been with me for 21 years, so it was the most shocking incident that happened in my life. I thought that I wanted to leave something behind for her, so I’m very grateful to have been allowed to write the lyrics about it.
Listening to that, I finally understood the true meaning behind the song’s title
Tadokoro That’s right. Because I couldn’t write about it on things like my blog, so with singing…….. I thought that I would have to talk about it someday.
Wasn’t it hard during the recording?
Tadokoro The Director understood the situation, so he told me, “It’s okay if your feelings start to waver a little”. (With the wavering feelings) I sang the song from start to finish in one take, was how we recorded the song, we recorded it several times.
Did you only re-record specific parts of the song?
Tadokoro That’s right. Other than that, I was asked to prioritize the emotional aspect of the song. There are definitely parts where my feelings started to waver, but they told me that it was fine that way.
After listening to that story, my impressions of the song have changed.
Tadokoro It’s heavy isn’t it (forced smile). It felt like the atmosphere at a funeral after the recording was over, but I’m very grateful to have been given the chance to sing about it like this.
Tadokoro Azusa is a mob-like character!?
Both songs that you wrote lyrics for were not hard rock styled songs. As you’re known as a rock artist, is there a change in your feelings when you singing a song that gets you heated up?
Tadokoro [そう上手くいかないものです(Sou Umaku Ikanai Monodesu.)] is a calm rock that has a realistic feeling, so I can sing it without forcing myself. For the very cool songs, I awaken the powerful part in me and sing with all the power I have, for ballads I sing gently. But, it’s all real feelings.
The core of the song that penetrates through the melody is [Reality/Real feelings] isn’t it.
Tadokoro That’s right. [The cool side within me] [The gentle side within me] [The usual energetic me], and [The sorrow in me]…… I want to let out all those things that are inside me.
Shifting the focus, I want to ask about this time’s lead song’s title. If there was the story’s protagonist “Tadokoro Azusa”, what kind of person do you think the character will be?
Tadokoro A good-for-nothing, unattractive, mob-like person (lol). Since the character’s impression is too shallow, I think it’s better to rethink the character’s image. Not suitable as the protagonist, lacking punch, the character too mob-like (lol).
You didn’t have to go that far (lol). Then, aside from the cool protagonist “Tadokoro Azusa”, if there was another child “KoroAzu”, what kind of story will it end up being?
Tadokoro How would it be indeed. She won’t be able to be cool, she also can’t be cute….. As expected, she’ll be a half-assed character (lol).
This isn’t a psychological quiz, I just wanted to ask about your objective thoughts…
Tadokoro I’m a mob-like human (lol). I devote myself to playing a role that aims to not be an obstacle to anyone.
You’re definitely not a mob! What kind of protagonist would you like to make “Tadokoro Azusa” into from here on?
Tadokoro It would be nice if I will be able to say “It was a good life” as a result. I don’t like peacefulness/quietness, but I think peacefulness/quietness is also kind of nice (lol). Even if various things were to happen, I will be happy if I lived a good life as a result of it.
TL Note: Koroazu tends to have a very pessimistic outlook and puts herself down often.
Tadokoro-san has the catchphrase “Bright, cheerful and backward facing”, personality-wise you are backward facing/negative but when faced with a challenge, you are the type to do it aren’t you.
Tadokoro That’s right. I will unintentionally do it. I don’t really understand that part of myself either. I would suddenly stand out, I really don’t get it (lol).

Nizista So What? Interview Part 2
Here’s Part 2 of the Nizista interview. Please enjoy!
I can be strong when singing
You’ve recently been starting to show off your ‘coolness’ as an artist. How was it showing both your cool side and your usual self in this time’s shoot?
Tadokoro It was quite interesting to see the pictures turn out totally different even when they were taken at the same location. For example, the pictures taken by the window had a natural lighting and sunny feel to it, but once the lighting was changed it looked like there was a storm. I didn’t think that it would be able to change that much.
Which part of the pictures taken during the shoot did you feel that, “This is like me”?
Tadokoro The natural pictures felt like the usual me, but the cool pictures that were taken made me think that this isn’t me (lol).
Not only in pictures but even in real life, I think that there is a difference from when you act cool compared to the usual you. What kind of consciousness/sentience does the “Tadokorock” Tadokoro Azusa carry with her?
Tadokoro When singing, to become one with the feelings of that song, it becomes the strength I have only at that time. It’s not that I’m forcing myself, but the help I get from the song turns into the strength I use in my singing.
So the way of remembering your songs/lives/performances, is your singing?
Tadokoro That’s right. Of course, I also take in the feelings from the outfit and makeup, but all in all I think it’s the song or the singing itself that is the most important.
On the other hand, how are you normally?
Tadokoro Usually, I’m often told that I would be daydreaming a lot (lol).
Does that happen at home and during break times at work too?
Tadokoro Yes. The other day, when my friend came over to my house, she said to me, “Why is it that you have this [Where am I?] face even though you are in your own house?” (lol). I don’t really know it myself, but I apparently make that kind of face…….
Are you not able to feel relaxed at home?
Tadokoro No no, I feel totally relaxed. But, I think that my relaxed face looks like that to other people. I’m very often told, “You’re in your own home you know~”. I think that’s just how I am when I feel relaxed? (lol)
Do you not have a switch for when you return home?
Tadokoro I do have a switch for when I’m checking my scripts, or rather I become focused. But other than that, it’s mostly the relaxed me (lol).
The artist Tadokoro Azusa and the Tadokoro Azusa at home, and I would also assume that you have another face for when you are acting, what kind of Tadokoro Azusa would that be?
Tadokoro Similar to how the feelings change with the song, when I’m acting the feelings differ based on the character I’m acting as. Because all of that is still me, I wouldn’t generalize it like, “This is Tadokoro Azusa”.
The correct answer to “Tadokorock” is to provide the laughter/smiles
In your acting career, please tell me about a recent show that has left a deep impression in you.
Tadokoro It’s [What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?] (SukaSuka). The character that I voiced, Chtholly had a sad ending and that left me with a pained heart. Because I was with her throughout the whole recording, the feelings we shared kept growing and it made my chest feel more and more strained. It really felt like Chtholly was there during the recording. Also, the casts and characters for this show are quite closely linked together, and I got to get close with Okada Hikari who voices Elq.
You also sang the opening theme song for this show, [DEAREST DROP]. Do you use the growth you get from being a voice actress in your artist career?
Tadokoro That’s right. The way I face songs, and the way I face roles, I think that they are slowly becoming a little similar to each other.
If it’s like that, did you think that “Songs are songs” back when you first started as an artist?
Tadokoro I’ve always been told that “Singing and acting can communicate”, but I honestly never really understood or realized that. Aside from character songs, I would sing the songs (not acting) as songs, and didn’t know what to think of it. But I feel like I’ve been able to connect them together recently.
Originally, are you the type to look at the songs from the protagonist’s view? Or are you the type that looks at it from a third party’s perspective?
Tadokoro In the case that the protagonist is very different from me, I would probably look at it from a third party’s perspective, but recently I’ve been able to completely immerse myself in the role and sing. Because I have a lot of strong/confident songs, I would assume the role of a domineering elder woman and have fun singing like that.
As an artist, you continue to show more and more of the “Tadokorock” world, this is thanks to the base you have as an actress and your growth from it, right.
Tadokoro It would be nice if that were the case (lol). I would be happy if both activities are a positive.
The word “Tadokorock” has started to be your label, but the word itself wasn’t with you when you first started out. How does it feel now that you’ve gradually become familiar with the word?
Tadokoro I still find the word “Tadokorock” interesting to this day (lol). I don’t know the reason myself. But I think that the “Tadokorock” that is slightly interesting and is used in ‘tsukkomis’ is fine.
(TL Note: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_owarai_terms for info on tsukkomi)
It’s okay to use it in tsukkomis?
Tadokoro It’s totally fine. I’m not the type of rock that is particular about appearance, but more of a rock that is fine looking pathetic/pitiable, because I like rock without decorations. So, I want to sing those type of songs, the people that I can make smile are the correct answers. Conversely, a “Tadokorock” (that only looks good) admiration kind of thing is something I wouldn’t want (lol). A more muddled up feeling would be better.
Because it’s a rock that has the usual Tadokoro-san implemented into it as well, is what you’re saying.
Tadokoro That’s right. If I can’t do something properly, or when negative emotions well up inside of me, I spit them out so it doesn’t necessarily have to look cool or anything like that. That’s what I think.

ツボミノコエ (Tsubomi no Koe)  English Lyrics
What a small small existence…
I repeat those words in this big big city
The sky that can be seen through the narrow crevices between buildings
This familiar feeling from somewhere, with the helpless feeling of impatience…
When I trip and cry, when I get hurt and cry
The strength that gets me back up again
The thing that is always given to me
It is that irreplaceable smile of yours
  Thank you… I can’t say it properly
I’m always unable to express it with words but
Hey, would you please please, in that heart of yours
This singing voice, please let it reach you…
Little by little in these repeating days
Will I become someone who can puff her chest out? Will I be able change?
I don’t have confidence, like the weakness of looking down/hanging my head
I will one day talk about it and laugh, let’s laugh together when that time comes okay
Do not stop, do not look back
The strength that keeps me continuing forward
The thing that is always given to me
It is that irreplaceable warmth of yours
  Thank you… I can’t say it properly
I’m always unable to express it with words but
Hey, would you please please, in that heart of yours
This singing voice, please let it reach you…
  I recklessly run ahead
With this one-way ticket to my dream in hand
I grasp it tightly
The flower of light… I want it to bloom
When I trip and cry, when I get hurt and cry
The strength that gets me back up again
The thing that is always given to me
It is that irreplaceable smile of yours
  Thank you… I can’t say it properly
I’m always unable to express it with words but
Hey, would you please please, in that heart of yours
This singing voice, please let it reach you…

Nizista So What? Interview Part 1
Here is part 1 of the Nizista interview that was released a few weeks ago, still working on the other parts (5 in total) so look forward to those!
Anyway here it is!
(Note: Bold headings are the theme of the following questions, italicized text is the interviewer’s question and the text in block quote is Azusa’s answers.)
The hardest part of the shoot was the heat?
Thank you for your hard work during the shoot. First of all, please tell me about your impressions on the shooting of the first scene in the car.
Tadokoro I don't own a driver’s license, so I would normally be sitting either at the passenger's seat or the back seat, and I also don't really think I fit the image of a driver so I was astonished (lol).
No no, I think you managed to fit the scene perfectly.
Tadokoro I was able to take a good scene because of the advice I received, but if we were to talk about the first take..... The feeling of riding a car is amazing (lol).
The "discarding" of the car you were in was a symbol of [The me up to now] or [The restrictions that were holding me back], wasn't it.
Tadokoro That's right. Using and discarding a broken down car, and the reflection of the ideal me afterwards ----- as I advance/move towards the me who's in the band.
Did that also become the theme for [Story Teller]?
Tadokoro That's right. The contents of this song was focused on [Paving a new road for myself]. The feeling of being excited and looking forward to the future is wonderful, and there's the word [旅(Journey)] in the lyrics so we thought that a car would fit the song's image perfectly.
Since the you that you are advancing towards is the you in a band, does this synchronize with your own activities as an artist?
Tadokoro I decided to stop moping and instead be excited and look forward to my future endeavors, is the part of me that I think has grown, so there are definitely parts that synchronize.
You have done a lot of recordings with the band members, have you gotten accustomed to it?
Tadokoro We are able to match each other without saying a word, so it felt like being in a big boat together. We got the OK on the first take for most of the scenes this time as well. We haven’t performed this song live yet so it was our first time playing it together, but even then we were still able to match each other and that made me feel really happy.
Certainly, there weren’t any failures during the shoot.
Tadokoro Because everyone was ready to collapse due to the heat, the feeling of, “We’re doing this in one take!” was apparent in all of us. That might have also made our concentration levels go up (lol).
This time’s outfit uses blue as its base and has a unique style to it.
Tadokoro The outfit has a ‘handsome man’ kind of style. It was really fashionable with the combination of many different pieces of clothing, and it was nothing like the outfits I’ve worn before that so it was a new experience for me. Just that……… it was very hot and that made things a little difficult (lol).
What were your thoughts on the abandoned factory that was used as the location for the shoot?
Tadokoro It had a wild feeling to it, it also had a unique atmosphere and was really cool.
By the way, do you like things like abandoned factories and ruins?
Tadokoro If you were to ask whether I like them or not, I haven’t had feelings like that for it hit me before (lol). But, it was a peaceful place, and there were frogs outside so it was fun to take a walk around the place.
Everyone was searching for frogs weren’t they. Speaking of that, did you do that when you were small?
Tadokoro That’s right. I grew up in a place with a lot of greenery so I was familiar with frogs. I’m bad with insects, but if it’s frogs then I’m okay with them.
In Tadokoro-san’s MV, there was another persona representing “The new me” or “Another me”. Is it something that you’re conscious of and striving for?
Tadokoro That’s not what I intended to get across. But, do I give out that kind of impression? (lol) There are a lot of the songs that share the “moving forward” theme too.
While we were talking about all kinds of things, we can naturally feel the lyricists can’t we.
Tadokoro 「DEAREST DROP」has a rare feeling to it, but if I were to say, it’d be “The view from the other me” (lol).
Perhaps there was a shadow/hidden theme behind it.
Tadokoro That could be the case (lol).
As you also said this earlier, the word “growth” has started popping up a lot in your recent interviews. Do you feel that you’ve been able to grow?
Tadokoro There are constant ups and downs, but I do think that I am growing one step at a time. But I’m growing at a turtle’s pace (lol). Kind of like taking three steps up then three steps down.
You won’t be able to move forward like that (lol). From an artist’s perspective, you’re able to express your own music more than you have before aren’t you.
Tadokoro I do think that is true. Even in this time’s album, “I want to sing this kind of song” “With this kind of atmosphere” was what I requested and there are some songs that were made because of that. I’m just about to get started on the recordings, so I’m really looking forward to challenge the new approach I have to take.
To be specific, what were the things you said?
Tadokoro I said, “I want to sing an emotional song”. When I saw other artists’ lives, I think to myself, “What can be my weapon?” so I thought that singing filled with emotion could become one of my weapons.
That’s also one part of Tadokorock isn’t it.
Tadokoro If that’s what it becomes then I will be happy. So, I think that I learned a lot from this album in the emotional aspect.
I heard that there are a lot of new songs that are bundled up in this album.
Tadokoro Apart from the songs from singles, the rest are mostly new songs, so please look forward to it.
My goal is to create a live that everyone can enjoy
How was the recording for [Story Teller]?
Tadokoro I was in a bit of a slump during the recording for [Story Teller], so we had to do 3 takes. It was my first time taking so many tries and it gave me a hard time, but the hardship I had to face is the reason why this song is a very memorable song for me.
Then, was there anything that you faced in your challenges that left an impression?
Tadokoro The guitar recording I did for the [Super Star Loser(So What? Mix)].
How was it?
Tadokoro I was super nervous. From there, I learned about how these recordings were made. For a singing recording, it would be one person standing alone in front of the microphone singing, but a guitar recording is played outside while listening to directions from the Director or Arranger with an amplifier inside the booth. But having Yamamoto Yohske-san and the other arrangers with me was very reassuring. On the contrary, I was glad I wasn’t alone (in the booth) playing (lol).
With the new step forward that you are taking, you’re looking for the ‘new you’, so please tell me about what kind of person you would like to become in the future.
Tadokoro When I was watching aiko-san’s live the other day, I thought, “So this is what a good live is like”. A live that anyone can enjoy and the family-like atmosphere in the venue, she has a good personality, her MCs are also entertaining to the point that you can’t take your eyes off her. And I thought that I too would like to become someone who can create a live like that.
Speaking of lives, this time’s album comes with a recording of your live that happened last year in October at LIQUIDROOM. How was it looking back at it?
Tadokoro It was really fun, both days were fiery passionate lives. Also, it was when I started looking at my own music differently, so it was also a live that became a turning point for me.
As you were able to make Tadokorock yours, was there anything else that you firmly grabbed onto from that live?
Tadokoro That’s right. I had the feeling that the road for me to take my first steps paved opened for me. I still have a long way to go, but I think it was a live that paved open a new road for me.
Continuing, there’s another live scheduled to be held at the end of this year. What kind of live do you want to make it into?
Tadokoro As I mentioned previously, a live that anyone can enjoy, a performance that will not let anyone be bored watching is what I want to do.
Of course, we can expect a guitar performance from you right?
Tadokoro I won’t play the guitar! I won’t do it! (lol)
Well, even if you were to say that…….
Tadokoro I say that so that I don’t bring up needless expectations (lol). But I would gladly accept the opportunity if I were asked to play it.
Lastly, please talk about your album once again.
Tadokoro This album is filled with songs that can be assumed as the title songs and listened to over and over again. It is still in production, but please wait and look forward to it. There are songs that has everyone singing too, so it would make me happy if everyone were to listen to the album a lot and come have fun at the live.
Part 2 coming soon!

I can’t live without you.
Azusa Tadokoro’s recent album “So What?” released last week and one of the songs in the album titled “I can’t live without you.” is dedicated to her cat Nekochin who recently passed away. Here’s a translated portion of her Nizista interview (that will be all translated soon) where she talks about the song and her cat.
Please tell me about the lyrics of [I can’t live without you.] too.
Tadokoro It was my first time composing lyrics for a ballad. Honestly……this song, the cat that I raised in my parent’s house (Neko-chin) passed away, so I wrote the lyrics based on that.
   Eh!?

Tadokoro It’s heavy isn’t it (forced smile). It felt like the atmosphere at a funeral after the recording was over, but I’m very grateful to have been given the chance to sing about it like this.
Translated Lyrics of the song
Azusa Tadokoro - I can’t live without you.
To that brand new blue
You slowly ascend up
The times we spent together, and your voice too
Will they change into memories?
  A hole opens gaping
I now know the meaning to those words
I do so much but it still can’t reach you
Tears are the only thing that’s flowing
Like this, am I the only one
That’s being left behind
In the world without you
I wouldn’t be able to walk straight anymore
  To that brand new blue
You slowly ascend up
The times we spent together, and your voice too
Please don’t turn into memories
The lightness when I pick you up
I was struck by reality
When I close my eyes, and open them again
I want to meet you again just one more time
The days that I lived with you, of course they are all over here
I don’t want to know of the world where you’re not there
I don’t want to see it
A little more, just a little more
Be by my side, I want you to be by my side
  To that brand new blue
You slowly ascend up
The times we spent together, and your voice too
I will never ever forget them
Tumblr media
Rest in peace Nekochin, you meant the world to Azusa.

Blog for 2017-10-12 | Hotch
Potch!
Good evening!
It is a little late but,
Thank you very much
For 『HOTCHPOTCH FESTIV@L!!のDAY2』!!!
Tumblr media
It was slightly different from the usual lives,
There was a festival-like atmosphere and it was a really fun live (#^.^#) ! !
I sang a lot of kinds of song this time too, but because I can’t properly express them in words, only 2 songs!
  First up,『Kokoro ☆Exercise』!
Umi Kousaka’s solo song It was covered by
Yuki-nee (Yukiyo Fujii) who voices Megumi Tokoro,
Atsuhime-san (Atsuki Nakamura) who voices Roco and
I, KoroAzu who voices Shizuka Mogami!
 It’s a pun!!!!!
But once I started trying to dance and sing to the song,
I started loving the song even more!
The explosiveness of Umi-chan
Mischievous lyrics and muscle training-like choreography is
Super cute!!
I was happy to be able to sing it!!
「My potential is an unknown world」(私のポテンシャルは未知の世界)
Is a part of the song’s lyrics, and I thought it was good and cool
For the negative me to be moved by a positive and forward-facing phrase, I was really surprised!
    Next is,
『Alive Factor』!
It was meant to be fair-and-square head-on battle!
Of course I had victory in mind!
 My hands were trembling ( ` ▽ ` )!
I want to turn my experiences into Mogami-chan’s weapons!
I wonder if anyone would be able to see Shizuka Mogami-chan’s preparation and possibilities
I would be happy if Mogami-chan’s singing was able to leave something, even if it’s just a little, in the Producers’ hearts☆ (ココロ☆) !
    Well then! Photos!!
There wasn’t a lot of time so I couldn’t take a lot of pictures, but
Tumblr media
A cheeky one with Suzy-san ☆
Tumblr media
Suwa-san in!! Ho!
TL Note: (Ho is Matsuri’s “signature phrase”)
Tumblr media
Machico-san in! ‘Can’t she~?’
TL Note:  (Similarly, だめぇ~? is used often by Tsubasa [Machico’s character])
Tumblr media
With everyone!!
Tumblr media
With KakuAsu-san and Den-chan!
Tumblr media
With Maccccchico-san!
Tumblr media
With Mingosu-san!!
I’m glad I was able to take a 2-shot
Tumblr media
3 people!
Tumblr media
Machico with Atsuhime!!
It ended up like this because there were no chairs
Next is flower stands!!
Tumblr media
Thank you very much!!!
When I saw them before the live, so there are people who are actually supporting me! Was ←
What I was reminded of once again and it was reassuring!!
All the letters and gifts have also safely reached me!!
Thank you for everything, everything!! (*^◯^*)
    Then!
Please take a listen to today’s Million Radio!!!!

Kuritaro!
Good evening!
There’s a lot of things
I would like to tell everyone!!
First of all!
My 3rd album [So What?] that’s releasing on the 25th of October
The first album preview has been released
~!!!
youtube
Although it’s only half the songs,
Were there any songs that you’ve taken a liking to?  (#^.^#)
It’s amazing in various ways isn’t it!!!!
Also now!!!
Continuing!!!
For 3 months starting the 1st of October, I will be the main personality for a regular radio program.
[Seiyuu NOTE] (A nationwide net JFN series FM radio show) will begin!
Furtherrrrrrmore!!!
Megumi Ogata is the guest for October!!!
Tumblr media
It’s too wonderful!
I was happy to be able to meet Ogata-san again after a long time
Having the staff tell you that Ogata-san is the first guest makes you really nervous doesn’t it? Is what I was told but,
Truthfully, she makes me feel more relieved!!
Of course I have doubts on whether I will be able to properly play the role of a main personality but
Ogata-san who was looking after me,
Who at times didn’t know my left and right, being able to talk together  On the radio made me really happy, or rather I felt like I’ve won!
Similar to when I first met her, she still has that warmth and kindness that wraps around you....
She even said that she’s always been watching over my activities,, I’m a really happy person...!
Tumblr media
We talked a lot about Ogata-san herself
So if you don’t mind,
Please give it a listen  (◍´͈ꈊ`͈◍)
There’s also a radio drama!!
Together with Ogata-san, we did all kinds of things...Mufufu
The details can be found here!

Please!
Continuing!!
A short anime that’s scheduled to air on Asahi Broadcast starting October 2017
[Ice Kuritaro]
I’ve been given the opportunity to voice Kuritaro!!!!
[What is Ice Kuritaro?]
Living as an, ice-cream. Being licked, melting, bitten...
Even an ice-cream lives a hard life and life isn’t anything that sweet~
The struggle to be delicious when eaten, back to the basics, living in a relaxed way.
The story of that creamy-like Kuritaro’s life. Come enjoy the show together!!
Tumblr media
Cute ain’t it~!
With that!
This is my first time voicing a character using Kansai dialect!
It’s hard!!  (>_<)
With the proper support of the cast and staff
I’ll do my best
Voicing with a Kansai dialect so,
Please take a look when it airs!  (*^◯^*)
Lastly!
This one that happened the other day,
This is the photo during the Hello Happy World CiRCLE Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2017!!
Tumblr media
This was my first appearance at a BanG Dream Event and I could feel everyone’s love for Kaoru-san tingling on my skin
It was a really Happy! Lucky! Smile! Yay! time!!!
(TL Note: Happy! Lucky! Smile! Yay! is a catch phrase/cheer for HHW)
Everyone was amazingly ephemeral/transient!!
(TL Note:  儚い(はかない) meaning ephemeral/transient is a phrase that Kaoru uses a lot)
Thank you very much!!!
The End
