Epicaricacy
Now. Keeping in mind, I have a tenancy to laugh at things I shouldn’t, otherwise called as in the inappropriate effect though schadenfreude (or the response in rejoicing at or deriving pleasure from the misfortunes of others) is commonplace. I was heading to back to my parents house one night and I got on the bus like a normal adult would (Far from fucking normal in this case). I headed upstairs on the top deck of the bus and sat down before the next stop a guy came on. Obviously, I dont know who this person is but speaking in the context that this event has already happened, im talking from a past tense. He walks up the stairs and there’s not a lot available seats so he takes the one next to me. Now here comes the hardest part of the story The moment he sits down, he somewhat recoils back and hits his head on the the pole (When a stop press which connects to the top of the bus). He let out a quiet “Ow” and from this point on I had an overwhelming urge to laugh. I don’t know what it was but it was so unbearably funny that I had to pinch my nose and seal my mouth shut to contain my laughter. I even had to fake some coughs to try and cover up for it with me going something like: *Cough* “Oh excuse me” under my breath but audible. I tried so hard to be normal but throughout the whole of the journey of him sitting next to me, it was possibly the hardest 4 minutes of my life. The worst thing about me is I get the giggles like a child and If I just started randomly laughing next to this stranger for no apparent reason, it would have seemed so weird / odd. I hate having to contain my laughter because most things dont bring me much joy (because im a miserable fuck) and having to hold back on a moment like this was truly unfortunate. Laughing at someone who i’ve never met was bound to cause some sparked curiosity. It was *SO* golden. I’ve been in instances where things that make no sense at all make me laugh. I still read and think back to the situation and can’t help but let out a smile. Have you ever had any weird instances like this where something has happened to someone you know or don’t know and you’ve acted inappropriately?
