I like how we’ve all collectively just decided that Squid games is the story of Gihun and his harem.

Spicy Squid Games season 2 opinion
Gihun did Jungbae dirty and it’s at least partially his fault that Jungbae is dead.
When he sees Jungbae in the games Jungbae says that Gihun ghosted him and he hasn’t heard from him in 3 years. So Gihun basically has ignored his best friend for 3 years and in that time things have gone downhill and he’s gotten into debt. If he had spoken to Jungbae at all during those 3 years he could have heard that he was in financial need and helped him out with the 45.6 billion won that he won in the first game. Therefore Jungbae would never have had any need to enter the games and would still be alive.
(And even if the Frontman hadn’t killed him, then there was a good chance that he would have died anyway during one of the rounds in the games)
So Jungbae is dead because he entered the games, because he was in financial need and because Gihun never contacted him or checked up on how he was going.

obsessed with the parallels between gihun and inho. like think about it from inhos perspective:
the world was kind to neither of us. you won the game but it took your best friend and your mother. i won the game but it took my wife and child. your wife and child still live yet you refuse to visit them. my mother and brother are alive yet i avoid them. if i had been a little stronger i could've become you. if you had been a little weaker you would've become me.
i look at you and it reminds me of what i could've been. you look at me and see what you might've turned into. i want to drag you down to hell with me, i want you to become a monster like me. but if you would pull me up to the light, could i become something like you?

I know so many people think we'll get a sad ending for Squid Game, but honestly, I think there's a good chance we'll get a happy-ish or at least hopeful ending.
Why?
Because of the end of Season 1. Specifically the scene with Gi-hun and Il-nam. If HDH wanted to make things completely bleak, he could have easily written that homeless man dying out there, "proving" Il-nam right. But he didn't. In the end, we see someone helping the guy, proving Gi-hun right, that there are still other good people in the world.
I feel like that's good foreshadowing. Not saying there won't be sad moments coming, but I think in the end, we'll get something similar. A glimpse of hope and goodness, if not an outright happy ending.
Personally I'd be happy with the following scenarios:
In-ho gets a redemption arc and helps Gi-hun and Jun-ho put a stop to at least the Korean games. Possibly gets arrested but doesn't die.
In-ho starts to get a redemption arc. Gi-hun and In-ho team up as Front Men and it's implied they'll work together to take things down from the inside, but the games are still continuing currently, maybe with modifications.
Darkest I'd go with: Gi-hun genuinely becomes another Front Man with In-ho (does have a lot less faith in humanity), and there's no indication the games will stop, but Gi-hun manages to make things a little more fair for the players.
Anyway, just some thoughts I had. I'm honestly sick of super downer endings for shows. It's tedious and done to death, imo. I'd like to think HDH would rather leave us with a potentially hopeful ending. Especially since I'm pretty sure he said somewhere Gi-hun is based a little on who he used to be? If I'm remembering that right, then I'd hate to think he'd leave us with a hopeless ending.

need to see a fic where inho is more devastatingly down bad for gihun more than ever and when gihun runs out of options on stopping the games he just straight up (awkwardly) seduces inho to convince him to stop it.
inho: you can't be serious
gihun: *tries to seductively remove his jacket but his arm gets stuck midway*
inho: *getting flustered* no, keep it on
gihun: *tugs twice at his jacket that's stuck before giving up and attempts removing his shirt and jacket*
gihun: ...
gihun: *his jacket and shirt are now stuck unto his head and arms as his abdomen can now be seen*
gihun: *mentally thinking* is this working????
inho: *takes a deep breath before letting out the longest exhale then whispers quietly in the room*
inho: i'm so fucked...
gihun: *despite having his arms and head stuck on his jacket and shirt, grins triumphantly at his response*
somehow this works

Frontman should have designed a game where they have to climb ladders or something so that he could have Gihun go in front of him and then he go behind Gihun and get to look at his ass.

I think this doesn’t mean that Inhun will be canon, but I do think that maybe the director intentionally made the intense relationship and connection between his two characters and so he’s delighted that the fans have spotted this and decided to ship it.
"the frontman HATES gihun, stop making everything gay"

we hear gi-hun talk nonstop about how 'smart and cool' sang-woo is in season one, and I feel like jun-ho used to talk about in-ho like that to literally anybody and everybody. "yeah, my brother is the coolest! he's my role model and the reason why I became a cop. he inspired me every day. oh and did I tell you he gave me his kidney and saved my life?!" (jun-ho already told them that at least five times), and now the mention of in-ho's name alone is enough to trigger him, especially when it's kind of confirmed / canon that jun-ho looked up to in-ho.
man, probably wishful thinking, but I need the hwang bros to just not die in season 3 and get to be brothers again :(

the narrative is so tasty to me in that moment because
not only did Gi-hun and In-ho join the game for the same reason (mom/wife's medical bills)
but that one life-ruining labor strike that Gi-hun's been talking about for two seasons, it was crushed by police violence
and In-ho... was police, and he's listening to the conversation
did he have a direct involvement with the strike? I don't fucking know
still the idea that they were on opposites sides (union vs police) but both ended up being fucked by the bigger system (capitalism)
and now the drama is replaying itself within the game, with Gi-hun mobilizing players but getting crushed by the guards
and In-ho seemingly has the upper hand at the moment but should ultimately get fucked by the bigger system again
chef's kiss
