For me, it would definitely be a great twist in Season 3 if Gi-hun, like in Season 1 when he plays the squid game with Sang-Woo, simply said he wanted to end the game, the baby would abstain from voting, give up his winnings, and go home with the baby and In-ho.

i think inho was genuinely working to protect gihun and the baby, as lbh said himself. a lot of people are debating that, and that if that were the case, he wouldnt make the baby a player - but i wonder if he kept the baby in the game because it would keep gihun moving forward. keep him playing. after killing dae-ho and coming to the conclusion that everything is his own fault afterall, gihun would have probably sat down in his catatonic state again and refused to play the games. With the baby, inho gave him a new purpose. He gave him the knife to kill the other players, giving him the certainty of survival, even going against the VIPs after promising them that the final game would definitely take place.

in the final game though, yes, he could have stopped him. he could have started the evacuation earlier. i wonder if this was just inconsistency in inho's characterisation that he just did nothing and watched him simply fall to his death.

because inho wanted gihun to survive so much - he spent the entirety of season 2 and 3 showing that - and he so very clearly grieved when he didn't.

inho wanted gihun to live.

I can’t believe I’m doing another post about this shit but looking at gifs of That Scene, where I’m reminded that Gihun is looking directly at Inho and speaking directly to him using his own words against him, while Inho watches him through the mask unable to do a goddamn thing ….I almost feel like Gihun’s final act was actually (in part) a big ‘fuck you’ to Inho

Gihun wanted to die over and over again, but Inho wouldn’t let him. And now, because of his own actions, just after Inho finally finds his light again in the form of this remarkable person, he loses him. He took away so much that Gihun loved, so Gihun took away what he loved.

I would have even been okay with everyone dying, if the ending had been set up with Inho and Gihun together in Los Angeles, then trying to stop the games there as an unlikely duo.

If seasons 2 and 3 hadn't been written together, that would definitely have happened – and we would have had better finalists.

inho getting his "redemption" by ending the korean games and then helping gihun stop the games in the united states... we could have had scenes with gihun and gayeong as he tries to win back her trust, and even if the baby lived, inho and gihun could have co-parented her and then the ending would be "funny" like jj said.

i cant say if that would have happened for sure but i do think stuff would be different if he hadn't written the seasons together. also we deserved better finalists bc what the fuck was that?

i feel like such a fool after constantly telling people there’s so much more to in ho’s character based off the depth and complexity they gave us in season 2 only for all the ambiguity and nuance to his character to be left at the door in season 3. no emotional scenes with his brother, no insight into his ideals and motivations during his confrontation with gi hun, one flashback scene that honestly doesn’t even really tell us anything more about him. did we imagine it all? was this really all there was to him? a flat character that barely gets any screen time. i’m genuinely so upset about this.

I think I would've been 25% more okay with the ending if Inho was so shattered by Gihun's sacrifice that he quit the organization, raised Junhee's baby, and lived a life of remorse (and that's if he didn't go down with Gihun and the island). But because he has to go be in the fuckass American spinoff we get the baby being left with Junho (???) and his character arc not actually going anywhere. His characterization this season is one big wtf

they should’ve talked about so much. they should’ve had more time. gihun should’ve asked inho what his real name was, how he got into all this, why he was doing all this. he should’ve asked him if what he told him about his wife was the truth or just a manipulation. gihun should’ve asked him why he entered the games and why he had to kill his friend. gihun should’ve recognized his name and identified him as junho’s brother and told inho how desperately junho was looking for him and we should’ve had a reaction to that. they should’ve discussed those fucking VIPs and why they get such sick pleasure from poor peoples misery. in-ho could’ve told him about the choices he had to make in the games and how he came to have such a bleak outlook about humans. in-ho could’ve told gihun how this was happening everywhere not just in south korea. they should’ve argued more about their moral philosophies and opinions on humanity. i feel cheated
