I suppose this is ungrateful, but I am so tired of so-called "ex-MAGA" stories. I've seen enough now that laying them all atop each other reveals a pattern, and this is it.

Please tell me about people who thought he was joking and realized in horror that he wasn't. Tell me about people who realized they didn't vote for Elon Musk. Tell me about people who thought he was for free speech until they saw Voice of America taken down and international students snatched off the street or stripped of visas. Tell me about people who saw international aid and museum, library, research funding all erased and said to themselves, "What have I done?" Tell me about people who proudly served and worked and studied beside trans people and don't want to see them driven out of existence. Tell me about people who realized that human rights are actually not less important than the price of eggs.

Right now I don't think there are any.
