Meditation Positions - The Right Way To Meditate Effectively
Is there any right meditation positions? If yes, then which is suitable for me?
Sometimes, I feel that I am not getting good results from meditation. I wonder how to get maximum benefit from meditation, am I doing it properly? I want to learn right positions, where can I get this information? If such questions are bothering you, then this article is going to guide you with right meditation positions. You know, in the initial days, when I was doing meditation, I had the same confusion. I kept on experimenting on my own every time with different meditation positions. They are sitting meditation, standing meditation, kneeling meditation, walking meditation, lying-down meditation etc., Finally, I got the most effective meditation postures.
The most effective meditation postures
1. Imagine Comfort First – I am able to work more effectively if I feel comfortable. And I think this is the same condition with all of you. Our focus is the key factor in meditation. So, if you become discomfort, then surely you will not be able to focus in the most effective way. Before deciding the suitable place, think about your favorite place, where you love to spent time. It can be on a chair placed on the balcony, or on sofa supported by a back pillow. You may also feel comfortable, sitting on the grass and leaning back on a tree in the garden nearby. For better results, you may also like to use a meditation cushion to sit on it. So, the choice is yours where you find comfort for next 15-30 minutes to do meditation. You just need to follow exact meditation positions what your mind is insisting. 2. Crossed Leg Posture – The main purpose is to make sure your spine is fully erect, your energy flows without any obstacles. Apart from that, it gives ways to breathe and energy flow to each and every organ of your body. NB: No matter how comfortable you have positioned, may be in full lotus or half lotus, you should always keep your back and spine erect upright. Your chin should be straight up, and gently keep your hands folded to rest your palm on your thighs and knees. If you would like to keep in specific “mudra” positions then you can do so with this guide. In case you find it difficult to sit in a normal crossed leg position, use a cushion to sit. Then slide a bit forward on the cushion, so that your knees and ankles are grounded. In this position, you can sit straight and comfortable position. 3. Sitting on the chair: This is a very simple way of sitting position, putting feet relaxed and completely touching entire feet area on the floor. The lower thigh is completely touching the seat portion of the chair. You should also make sure that the back is not leaning on the backrest of the chair. Keep your hands rested firmly on the thigh and sit comfortably. However keep your chest open, chin and backbone straight lifted. Just like a coat is hanging on a hanger, your spine is erect and body is hanging. 4. Sitting On The Sofa: If the depth of the sofa is deep, you can use meditation pillow to keep it lifted. For complete relaxation, you may lean back into the sofa to give support to your back. In most of the cases, it is advisable to sit straight without supporting your back. 5. Meditating Outdoors: Meditating in open air and light gives more cosmic energy easily. Carrying a meditation cushion or yoga mat is very useful to avoid dust or heat on the floor. Yoga mat helps to avoid any distraction coming out of sitting area. If you want to lean back, you can find a tree to lean on it. If you want to sit on a chair, find a rock, or wooden trunk which can be used as a chair. However, you make sure that you are comfortable to sit on it for 15-30 min. NB: No matter in what Meditation positions you adopt, make sure to keep your back and spine erect upright. How To Do Transcendental Meditation
Transcendental Meditation, which I have been practicing since years. This type of meditation is very useful in the beginner level too. Because it is a traditional way of doing meditation.

During childhood, most of us, face new challenges in life. Transcendental Meditation helps to gain all the power and energy to fight against it. It also helps to gain access to various solutions which gives the confidence to be happy and successful. Because you will follow your own personal mantra for success. Because these mantras are derived from traditional practices since ages. Nowadays, there are so many different types of mantras which we can use depending on various needs or professions.
Few pre-requisites for transcendental meditation.
1 - Try to do it every day, twice daily in the empty stomach may be before breakfast and dinner. 2 - Chant mantra during Transcendental Meditation is at least for 15-20 minutes in a quiet and silent place. Four steps involved in transcendental meditation: Step 1 : Close your eyes and sit in comfortable and relaxed, recommend in crossed leg lotus position Then step 2 : Now, take a deep breath and hold bit tight then release it slowly to become more relaxed Step 3 : Recite OM mantra or any mantra of your choice from bottom of your heart and soul, with the intention of feeling it without verbalizing. And Step 4 : Continue this process for around 20-25 min and gradually feel your closeness and belongingness with the universe While doing transcendental meditation you will experience your mind will undergo four mental stages, maybe not in any sequence. Four Mental Stages : 1 - solely verbal mantras, 2 - thought or feel about bonding and belongingness within mantra, 3 - clashing between mantra and belongingness 4 – now the last one is very important, i.e. neither about mantra nor any thought, completely blank. It is quite natural that to achieve 4th mental stage, one needs to practice more transcendental meditation from the beginner. The effect of transcendental meditation is quite fantastic. You will not believe how much relaxed you will feel. Your mind and soul will become so weightless after reaching the 4th mental stage. But until then your meditation journey should not stop. That is twice daily, on empty stomach, before lunch and dinner. Also, you should repeat the mantra mentally without giving much focus on it. You should never allow your mind to hold on to the mantras. Otherwise, what will happen, your effort to move on to the next mental stage will not come easily. Sometime, during meditating you will feel that your mind is wondering about something. Sometimes you are aware of it and sometimes not. It is still fine if your mind wonders even when you are not aware. However, if you become aware of what your mind is wondering, then slowly start chanting the mantras. And also continue to chant the mantra, even if your mind is wondering at the same time until your thoughts are eliminated. By doing so, you can reduce the distractions or mind wonders etc. In addition, if you find that mind is repeating the mantra for the longer duration, means, that you are holding on to the mantra. It will surely fade away once you stop focusing on it. Few Golden Tips On Transcendental Meditation In this way, your mind can experience all first three stages. We already learned that every state of mind is part of transcendental meditation technique. There is no fixed rule for the sequence in all these four stages of mental awareness. The law of attraction is simply that you attract to yourself exactly what your thoughts attract. A lot of people believe that We Attract What We Fear.
