my ass is too tired to write or draw rn, but i still want to rant so

this is from a silly perspective with no ill-will, but i am genuinely surprised that people in some parts of the sonic fandom REALLY think that charmy has brainrot or is an ipad baby

do. do you think. that charmy has accessibility to any other tech device in his home that is not the shitty always-buffering tv in the chaotix’s cramped living room, and or the old telephone on vector’s office desk that’s only used for calling clients. that little guy has not seen anything on a screen that wasn’t cable tv dated kids shows; you KNOW vector isn’t paying for anything else that isn’t food, the phone bill, the water bill or the electricity bill—and that includes internet in the home. he ain’t paying for no phone or ipad, nuh uh, not while they can’t even afford basic necessities

the little bee definitely also prefers physical play over just watching something and sitting kinda still. there is SO much pep and energy in that small body, he needs to move and get it all out and fly around and move his arms while drawing—he probably wouldn’t like just watching something for long periods of time. he wanna moooooove.

istg if you said “skibidi” infront of charmy, he would probably get scared and think you were possessed before he’d call for espio or vector to beat the ghost out of you.

so. yeah. charmy is most definitely not an ipad brainrotted kid, not when the chaotix are quite literally struggling to afford food and /w also type of child the little bee is 👍

Team Chaotix is so funny. Imagine living paycheck to paycheck from a mostly failed startup but then occasionally getting roped in to save the world because you’re old friends with Usain Bolt. And you don’t even get paid for it

i like charmy bee for the same reason i like any of the other REAL young kid characters in sonic. hes literally Just a child. everything he does! hes Just a kid, living his life in a ridiculous situation and going on crazy adventures with superpowered teens. hes having the time of his life! he probably goes to school when he isnt on screen. what grade is he in?? third? fourth? does vector pack his lunches every day? what happened to his parents? is it an adorabat situation, or is vector rlly his dad, adoption papers n all? does he play minecraft? does he hang out w cream and tails? does he have any other friends his age? does he hang out with any other characters? does charmy ever go to vanilla's house unprompted or does vector have to call first? is it the same if charmy was going to hang out with tails? does vector go to PTA meetings? i loveeee family tropes. can we talk abt the family tropes.

What I find so wonderful and authentic about the Chaotix isn’t just because of the fact they’re a close-knit found family and would do anything for each other and are also the silliest motherfuckers in the series, but…

They’re literally just that. That’s it. Yes, they have a detective business they run by themselves and Espio is literally a self-trained ninja, but those are just jobs/hobbies of theirs. The detective agency they run is something they only do so they can have the money they need to live in the city! If they didn’t live in the city, they’d probably still be detectives, but it’d be a much more laid back business and they’d probably have a little less advertisements.

Okay what I’m getting at here is that the Chaotix are basically just any run-of-the-mill everyday casual loving family. When they go on missions they fail to take it 100% seriously, they prioritize the money over the actual goal, they’re goofy as all hell, seem very immature and not up to the task, they set up schedules before they even get anything done… They’re not like. A professional business. They’re still just average everyday people just like every other random motherfucker in that city, and you can tell by how they fight!

Against Eggman, the three dance around each other and take down bots like it’s nothing! This is a song and dance they’ve listened to a million times over at this point, and when ur friends with Sonic you are bound to run into Eggman a ton! But when we see them up against literally anything else, like Mecha Sonic, (Or whatever the fuck kinda weird anime bullshit Metal was pulling in the first arc) the Zombots, or the Babylon Rogues, they’re pretty sloppy and overall are just a buncha goofballs! They’re all over the place and don’t really seem to know what they’re doing, and honestly? I adore that! It shows just how under level they are compared to everyone else and how they’re more used to covering menial tasks like tracking down a lost purse or turning some creep to the police station. They’re better equipped for everyday problems that any regular family would go through and it shows!

So if anyone asks why I adore the Chaotix, this is what I’ll show in response.
