"Under the Queen's Umbrella": The tide has turned

I was LMAO at this scene from this weekend's "Under the Queen's Umbrella" when the chief state councilor challenges the king's plan to appoint the crown prince to oversee the reform of the Righteous Granaries. He starts with his usual BS, saying it's too early for the crown prince to be given any responsibilities. For support, he promptly turns to his old cohort, Consort Ko's uncle (and the queen's spy during the contest), who cheerfully but respectfully begs to disagree. He thinks it's a great way for the crown prince to show abilities.

Fave tutor and Seongnam hype boy (chief royal secretary? sorry, I can't keep their actual titles straight) points out the crown prince did make realistic proposals to improve Uichang during the contest (during his and Uiseong's interview with the king).

Chief state councilor tries again, saying the crown prince is not yet experienced enough to handle political affairs (evil dude's reasoning is just all over the place). Dissent comes from another unlikely source, the minister of war AKA the crown prince's father in law. He says the CP may be inexperienced but that might actually be a good thing, it could lead him to look at the problem from a fresh perspective.

The king next turns to the minister of taxation, who is of course already besties with the crown prince after their adventures on Manwhol Island. He thinks with his practical experience and the crown prince out-of-the-box thinking, they can solve the chronic issue of corruption at Uichang.

Evil Grandpa Hwang makes a last-ditch effort to keep the crown prince from getting any kind of authority, saying if he fails to execute this task successfully, he should no longer be allowed to take part in political affairs (hahahaha) but his outrageous proposal is met with crickets, his allies suddenly finding the pillars and the ceiling interesting. Love how the tide has turned.

The queen — and by extension, the crown prince — has gained quite a few powerful allies in the most recent episodes. The thing I love about it is how she made them just by being herself, no threats nor bribes. She got Consort Ko on her side by caring for Prince Simso and preserving his and her dignity, thus paving the way for an eventual reconciliation between mother and child. Consort Ko, of course, brought over her uncle to their side. With the minister of war, the so-called "hands and feet" of the queen dowager, the queen asked him to take care of the crown prince the same way the queen will take care of the crown princess and shield her from the queen dowager's manipulations.

I only chose her as the Crown Princess because she is the most outstanding. I saw your eldest daughter by coincidence. Unlike other young ladies who only learn from their books, she is like a gemstone. Not only did she step up and help the weak, but she was also very compassionate.
