So I’ve just started/binged Sk8 the Infinity (up to episode 9), and from what I can see on Tumblr, Adam seems to be almost universally despised? But I really don’t get it.

Objectively, yes, he’s a terrible person for whom the ends always justify the means. His trauma and backstory don’t excuse what he does. I get that. But how is he any different from any other Magnificent Bastard villain with a traumatic childhood in pretty much any other media who gets showered in sympathy?

The biggest criticisms I’ve seen are his attack on Cherry/physical contact with his opponents and his “pedophilia,” so I’m just gonna share my opinions on those.
