Apologies for the radio silence as of late! I'm not gone, May/June is just a particularly busy time for me with work/life in general, but I have one week left of work before I'm summer break so I hope to get back to lots of writing! :)

One of the most Dad Characters and he didn't even get to become a dad.

Once again, he is completely lost and confused, but somehow relieved that he is.

"Not fond? Well that's not quite-" Wait, why was he willing to argue? This was just going to make things worse.

' The way you are being so bashful, It's alright not many are fond of such things.' Mei assured giving him a gentle smile.

"...what gave it away?" Not wanting to seem more pathetic than he already has, he gives an awkward cough and straightens up. The mizukage was kind, at least. "I'll be fine."

' ah I see not use to such things hm? ' Mei knelt down infront of Yamato, her hand gently on his shoulder. ' You gonna be alright? '

Sighs heavily. "...maybe for you it was." He was not used to this.

Mei giggles. ' come now! it was worth it! you are adorable.'

Might as well have a giant arrow pointing over him that says "Not Getting Any"

"...happy to help?" He lifts a hand to give a half hearted wave as Shino sulked away. It was an odd interaction to say the least. Shino has thanked him, but he doesn't sound particularily happy about it.

"I'll take note of that. Thank you." Now he has to wonder how many other terms he's been using that might have made people uncomfortable. Could it be why he's regarded as a freak? Why people always seem hesitant around him when they do notice him? It can't just be his precious insects, right?

He'll walk away for now, he needs to reflect.

So that was it. "Ah. Well, the less you dwell on it the better. Now you know, so you won't make the same mistake a third time." Yamato can think of plenty of times he'd misused a word and made things awkward.

"People in general aren't fond of discussing their...personal lives."

"Oh. Really...?" Shino stares at Yamato for a minute, processing the new information. He never considered it that way...

"Captain Yamato..." He adds quietly, a bit of shyness in his tone. "I just said it publicly... And I've said it before..." This is awkward, now.

"I know- but we don't generally refer to it as, uh, breeding, when it comes to people. It's bound to make people uncomfortable." Like he is now.

"It's exactly what it is, although I'm not sure we will see any outcomes like with animals and insects, considering we have access to protection. It is fortunate and unfortunate at once, why? Because I like seeing the new mixes."
