It should have been Ben Organa, not Ben Solo.

Reasons:

Leia has the more 'powerful' name, being a part of a royal household

Kylo clearly takes after his mother in numerous ways. They have the same uncanny ability to read people in the Force, and the same big brown eyes.

He killed his dad and found him disappointing. He had a chance to kill his mother and opted not to.

Honestly anything else I say is pointless past the first one, so I'm just rambling. But I really do think people overlook the similarities with his mother, EVEN HUX NOTICED THOSE and he never even met Leia!!, to shoehorn in shit to make him 'Han but with black hair and angrier'

Point is, when Leia is a princess from a royal household, and a well regarded senator, that her name wasn't the one passed on when Hans surname doesn't carry the same weight is very strange and very hetero-normative. The wife/kid just blindly taking the husbands name is very old school traditionalist, of which Leia definitely does not seem to be in line with. Would she really just defer to Han on everything? Han is also a reasonable guy i don't see him insisting on his surname being the one used?

And a Ben Organa may have felt more in touch with his mother, and may have been more open to her. Why wouldn't he, if he was named after royals long gone? He clearly showed some sort of interest in Alderaan giving that he named his ship Grimtaash. How cool would it have been if that could go deeper? Hell, imagine him going and doing his trials like his mother before him?

Last point : Ben Solo just sounds boring. Ben Organa carries itself a lot better.
