Yes, another one of these. I was watching footage of Record breaker and it only confused me.. Let’s look at the evidence though the games & anime. (This time with pictures!) 1. When using the Dragon stream or using the summoning APP (In the anime) The person arm’s (or body) seems to digitalize for some reason.

2. In the game, When going though New game +, some of the characters seem to remember your last play-though and special dialog options appear. 

3. When referring to the Akashic Records, sometimes they refer to someone's existence as “Data” 

4. Calling gods Administrators (Which I have always founded odd) 5. When Caroli explains why she exists, she says shes a “Glitch in the universe” 6. "Glitching" or spazzing happens to Hibiki during the Triamglum arc since hes in the process of being erased. 7. Where you fight Canopus, it honestly looks like the inside of a PC

8. Canopus’s appendages are called “Matrix’s”

9. How the void eats up everything looks very odd. Kinda like if something was being deleted as it isn’t painful.

10. Septentrions are referred as tools and weapons instead of creatures. If they were biological they would be affected by normal means (Bullets ect) And not Demon exclusive

11. To also continue the last point, Septentrions do not have a conscience (Except Alcor).  Though with Alcor having one (Kinda) It isn’t impossible for one to gain one.

Yamato Hotsuin’s Childhood Theory

I have a theory on what his childhood must of been like, though I doubt this is the case. Please take this with a grain of salt! (SPOILERS WARNING TO DS2) Let’s first, go over what we know about him in his childhood & Teenage life. (I say teenage and not adult since he’s only 17 at the time of the game/anime taking place.  From Devil Survivor 2: The Animation we get little bits of information of his childhood. This is what we know: ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ---------- - We know from the flash back he was 5 years old (Since he’s 17 and the flashback was from 12 years ago) - From my knowledge, there are no signs of his parents and/or being taken care of what it looks to be butlers or atleast, hired nanny's - From what he was reading about atomic energy, He seems to be VERY intelligent and homeschooled.  - He is being secluded from other children (Or civilian life of that matter) - He lives in a luxurious mansion and it seems that his family line is very rich. - For a unknown reason, he was used in what looks to be a demon summoning/Dragon stream experiment at the JP’s which went horribly wrong and ended up killing roughly about 5 people (Possibly more) - Alcor came to him at the beginning calling him “Shining one” but by the end of the flash back, he stopped and said he wasn’t the shining one.

Now, anything before/after the flashback is unknown. But let’s take a close look on how he acts in the game/anime currently & after different endings ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ---------- - He leads the JP’s - Yamato is 17 years old - He is one of the coldest characters in the series - While Yamato is portrayed as evil, he just seems to have a messed up morality. - He has 0 social skills (Most likely from being secluded from people) - During a specific route (Not shown in the anime and I forget which one sorry!) It’s possible to change his mind about a meritocracy world. Also with all the routes, it’s shown that he does have a heart of gold, it’s just very deep down and hidden very well. - He’s hot tempered and seems to have a out right yandere-like obsession with Hibiki - He seems to keep most things to himself - He is still smart, though it seems he lacks some common sense with what he calls “Unnecessary things”  - He doesn’t take lives of civilians seriously and doesn’t seem to be bothered with how many have died. (Possibilities of BILLIONS of deaths from Polaris and Canopus)

Now with all the information, I think it’s already safe to say Yamato didn’t have a normal childhood, I personally wouldn’t even call it a childhood. 

THEORY TIME: Now, my theory is that his parents being the rich people that they are, Only had, “raised”, and cared for Yamato to protect Japan and lead the JP’s and nothing else. This would explain why Yamato almost knows nothing of civilian life or really, anything of the outside world. With this in mind, it also seems his parents were somewhat neglectful as well. They hired people to raise Yamato for them, and seemed to hardly(If at all) ever talk to there son. And by the looks, it looks to be a very stressful environment for a developing child mind. He has constant high expectations that would need to be meet on a daily basis. Since his parents hired people to raise Yamato, they also seemed to have raised him the wrong way. They skipped over important information like teaching Empathy, Compassion, Or anything of emotions it seems. This would explain why he’s so cold/unempathetic.

Also, I may not be a lawyer but, with who ever put him in the JP’s lab would 100% be put in Prison for child endangerment. Putting a child in a human experiment isn’t right! This is seriously endangering a child EXPESSILY with how he’s wired up to the machines being forced to summon a demon. Sure, he survived but people died because of this. 

Honestly, I have a feeling that Alcor was trying to help him, possible save him from how he was being raised. I think he understood what everyone was doing was wrong, but it seemed that he came to late.
