Okay, finished Hereticus! Gotta say they do really cycle through characters rather quickly huh? RIP Aemos, it was indeed most perturbatory. And nail and every other character that got booted for The Plot™. Morally bankrupt Eisenhorn can still get some tho 😏, though currently he's got his sex demon from hell trapped in the body of a former friend to keep him occupied. Also I know there's books about Bequin, and I'm wondering when those are set given the state she was in by the end of Hereticus 👀👀👀

Also by far the funniest thing about this trilogy is that if I had a nickel for every time Eisenhorn basically triumphs over the bad guy™ by just... Tearing apart or Breaking some precious (and accursed) artefact, I'd have two nickels, which isn't much but it's fucking hilarious that it's happened twice.

.... For people whose job it is to quite often interact with (agents of) chaos and/or the warp, Inquisitors sure do like to scream "heretic" at eachother when they're playing dirty politics huh? About 2/3 of the way through Hereticus, and Inquisitors Heldane and Osma are quickly making their way up my list of just straight up most annoying asshats in this trilogy. At least the bad guys have... Idk, aspirations and ambitions that are nice and evil in the grand scheme of things, whereas these two don't seem to go anywhere besides just being a pain in the ass politician/inquisitor.

(I mean they might not even necessarily be entirely *wrong* with how morally bankrupt Eisenhorn is at that stage, but you know, it's starting to feel like the boy who cried wolf, only it's the Warhammer equivalent of the inquisitor who cried heretic lol)
