To the person anonymously writing slowburn office lady yuri in my DMs
I don't know why you've chosen me for this harassment campaign you've embarked on. I don't know why you feel that my DMs are a better medium for this story than, I don't know, posting them on a writing website?? Or on your own blog??? And most importantly, I don't know why you are laboring under the delusion that I can't report you just because you are sending the chapters anonymously -- I can in fact, and you would be IP banned.
I'm issuing you this ultimatum right now:
Stop sending me your slowburn office lady yuri
OR
I will report you
OR
Send me the next chapter within 24 hours, because are a fucker for where you left it off, and you have not sent a new chapter in several days. I need to know whether, when they were the only two in the office late at night after a brutal crunch week, and the stars could be seen in the sky due to a power outage on their block, and they talked about life, they actually do kiss or if that's another fakeout, of which you have done MANY.
My patience with you has worn thin. Stop sending me this story, or send me more, or I will report you.
Good night.

After 5 Years, Anime's Most Disappointing Sequel in History Still Has Me Heated
By Jordan Lemons
Few historical dramas exist that are as influential and prone to inducing nostalgia as much as Inuyasha. Having debuted back in the early 2000s, the series has been a beloved fan favorite for decades. Acclaimed as one of the isekai that broke out before the genre became popularized, this tale of romance and supernatural fantasy is a timeless classic.
The franchise would receive a second wind as the once dormant fans of Inuyasha looked towards the future shortly after a sequel was announced. Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon initially offered a lot of promise by continuing the story through the alternative perspective of the half-demon daughters of Sesshomaru, yet the premise quickly lost ground in light of its predecessors' accomplishments.
The Team Behind the Making of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon
A Great Premise With Amazing Character Designs
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon initially ran in October 2020 and was animated by the studio Sunrise. Season one was directed by Teruo Sato, and season two was directed by Masakazu Hishida, with the writer for the overall series being Katsuyuki Sumisawa.
Instead of directly following the original cast from Inuyasha, Yashahime focused on the descendants. Towa and Setsuna are the twin daughters of Sesshomaru, separated as children, with Towa growing up in the modern world and Setsuna in the past. When the time-traveling portal stops working, the sisters find themselves separated for 10 years till the well begins operating again.
As Towa returns to the older era in search of her sister, she finds that Setsuna has no prior memories of their childhood. To get them back, they embark on a journey to recover them, meeting Moroha along the way, a half-demon bounty hunter who is actually their cousin, as the daughter of Kagome and Inuyasha.
While Yashahime sets up an interesting storyline to get the new heroines kick-started on their journey, the execution fails to capture the essence of Inuyasha.
The girls find themselves confronted by an old rival of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha’s father, as well as Kirinmaru, who created a set of rainbow pearls with the power to rival the Shikon Jewel. While the anime sets up an interesting storyline to get the new heroines kick-started on their journey, the execution fails to capture the essence of the original.
Yashahime Overlooked What Made Inuyasha’s Cast and Story Connect to Audiences
Between Poor Writing Decisions and Pacing Issues
Yashahime had all the building blocks needed for a bombastic sequel that could invoke both nostalgia and offer further insight into the feudal era through the eyes of these new protagonists. By balancing the stories of the heroines and the older cast, faced with a fresh quest, the recipe seemed simple in theory.
While the anime does a great job returning to the original cast in the first episode, as soon as it shifts gears, the pacing immediately begins to feel disjointed. Inuyasha and Kagome’s teamwork served as a flawless callback to the many times they fought together, and Sango’s dedication to demon hunting hadn’t dulled after becoming a mother.
Yet when focus turned to Towa and Setsuna, their story felt rushed when their past could have been unraveled slowly throughout the episode instead. To fill in gaps, Towa’s life was explained verbatim through tedious monologuing that is definitely an early sign of the 2000s, but unnecessary when the anime was serving as that visual representation.
It’s a shame because these characters do have grounded personalities that could make for an intriguing trio, especially when Moroha is thrown into the mix as an upbeat, spunky comic relief. Yashahime’s rush to grip audience members is where it loses Inuyasha’s previous deliberate, slower pacing that introduced new characters over a course of time rather than all at once.
Kagome and Inuyasha’s relationship was built over multiple episodes before characters like Sango, Miroku, and Shippo were introduced into the mix. This helped to establish each person’s bond with one another through journeying together and fighting to protect one another. Yashahime has a great cast that can feel hollow because they weren’t given that time to formulate their bonds.
Inuyasha Fans Couldn’t Overlook Yashahime’s Blatant Character Assassination
Destroying the Original Cast’s Happy Ending While Slandering Character Development
Inuyasha’s manga was written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi, who is responsible for many wonderful works throughout her career. The anime goes on to retell the story of her original work with few exceptions, in the case of some filler. Takahashi wasn’t involved in the writing or direction of Yashahime, but she was the main character designer.
While the anime and its cast certainly look spectacular, Yashahime made some incredibly odd writing decisions. The major ones being Sesshomaru sealing Inuyasha and Kagome in the black pearl, making Rin the canonical partner to Sesshomaru and mother to Towa and Setsuna, as well as sidelining Miroku and Sango despite their friend’s disappearance.
Not only did the sequel go on to disrupt Inuyasha’s conclusion, but many characters like Sesshomaru, who had previously been thought to have been properly developed, have suddenly been uprooted. The feudal era, being rife with demons, was never going to guarantee complete security, but the decision to wipe out nearly the entire cast from focus was alarming and felt cruel.
For many fans, Yashahime felt like a disservice to the original, and fell into the same vein as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations due to its mistreatment of its predecessors' characters. While the franchises felt familiar, they failed to see what made Inuyasha and Naruto so popular to begin with, and scorned returning fans willing to give them a try.
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon had all the makings of a successful sequel with beautiful character designs and a fascinating premise that would reinvigorate a dormant fanbase. But the anime fell short of delivering the charm and charismatic storytelling that Inuyasha was known for.

New computer tablet makes it so easy to finally comeback to finish coloring this sketch (with permission) that @masitadibujante gifted me in 2021. I have no clue on how to do digital art, so I'm using sketchbook since it's less complicated 😅 I work better at my model painting haha

*The idea was based in fic that has been a work in progress. Basically, Kirinmaru visits Kikyo who staying in the West for reasons to elaborate later to gift her a book in obvious courtship + they both share interest in the hobby of literature; while Sesshomaru is internally seething on the engawa, though he doesn't want to admit to himself that he is jealous.

Just putting some gifs here of Daring Charming all Beast/Lion-Husky
Again he’s from the very painful Netflix series Ever After High Epic Winter, starting in Ep2 around 8:15 and staying this way until he reverts back to his-boring-ass self at the end of ep 4.
