i want to make something clear: i donât dislike or judge anyone who listens to chappell roan (i like a couple songs myself i am not immune to catchy pop).
her uncle is personally responsible for stripping the trans affirming care away from my best friendâs daughter and when it happened she texted me âmy daughter doesnât have four yearsâ. so her sudden shift from being political to being apolitical is not something i stand by. trust me, all celebrities suck. iâm a gaga fan, she has plenty to criticize. she isnât perfect either. chappell and her uncle just hit way too close to home for me, literally. right across state lines. idc if heâs your uncle when you have the money to safely cut that family member off forever and never have to worry about a social or financial safety net.
thatâs something that a majority of trans folk in missouri and kansas canât be certain of.
i do believe if you stand up for trans rights that the second you know what your republican uncle is doing or did you owe it to your community to put him on blast. do you not think we would protect you?
i have grown up around cis gays now for long enough to learn many of them would rather be accepted by cisgender straights than queers.
i love you clover. đ i will always support you. you will always have community even if i have to dig it myself with my shitty bitten nails directly into the concrete.
#darin chappell#all of this OP has said#sorry OP you and so many have to deal with this fear đ«#protect trans kids#reblog#sick of how idealized CR is#anyone who makes their platform of LGBTQ+ or any marginalized community needs to know the political weight it carries#CR is not one of them#oh and her PR team needs should be called out too#anti chappell roan#anti darin chappell

it's so funny to me when i see pearl-clutching articles about how "teenagers are diagnosing themselves with mental disorders via tiktok" because like. this is not happening in a vacuum. teenagers are severely and i mean severely medically neglected. i cannot stress this enough. teenagers do not have free access to medical care. those same news outlets would be clowning on women with housewife psychosis in the 1950's.
i sometimes go pale when listening to some of what my friends have gone through in their childhoods and teenagehoods. they talk about it so nonchalantly, things that would be considered straight up torture if done to an adult, can't fathom the effect this has on children. they are on multiple anti-psychotics and several antidepressants and anxiety meds now that they are adults. medical neglect has legally and effectively disabled them. a timely diagnosis and intervention could have saved them. of course teenagers are self-diagnosing using tiktok. if your knee-jerk reaction is to scoff at the idea and dismiss it as dumb teenager shit instead of being radicalized because the best shot young people have at attaining the mental health support they need is a fucking dancing videos app, you're categorically a political enemy of the youth.

Feminazi. God I hate that word. Do people really remember what an actual nazi is? They killed 11 million people. How many gamers, the anti-woke, and others did feminists kill?
I hate feminazi because itâs throwing around the word, that represented a real group that was a threat and did so much harm to many innocents, as some cute meme or trend. Itâs a fucking insult to those who actually fell victim to fascism, many that lost their lives, especially when itâs said so casually. If feminism truly earned it, then those in the gaming community and others would have been oppressed of their lifestyles or thrown in a concentration camp and be dead by now. Nobody threatened your lives, you just heard more criticism of the things you enjoyed that you already heard before again and again.
As late as this is, while Iâm not a fan of Anita Sarkeesian, I canât help but feel that maybe she got so much support because the stigma surrounding video games was already a mainstream thing. Remember those commercials of parents and other adults complaining how kids âchanged badlyâ due to video games, or just their attitude towards it?(No kidding, a parent ran over their kidâs video games with a lawnmower for their -the kid- own goodâ which was BS) I sure do! I feel people took it out on her like sheâs satan because she was the poster woman at the time, also you canât really speak against and throw shit at your parents, teachers, and other people with little consequences like you could with Anita. Her criticism wasnât that groundbreaking and was not very qualified anyway when she said she doesnât play nor like video games in general.
Itâs strange how some pointed the finger at feminists and woke people for hating female characters in games for being girly or damsel in distress because I have seen people in video game fandoms(Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc.) shit on the same characters; Peach, Amy, Ilia, and Aerith are among them, for the SAME or similar reason. Worse, sometimes Iâd see fandoms pitting the female characters against other female characters on whoâs âbetter.â
Feminism gave women the right to vote, own a credit card independently and other things they had to have under a manâs name prior to getting those rights passed. Where does that oppress men? Equal rights for some doesnât mean less rights for others. Itâs not a pie. Itâs not meant to be anti men. Itâs not meant to be anti traditional femininity. Itâs not to shame âtraditional female rolesâ the problem with that was, THAT was what society wanted women to do and only do. Yes there were historical figures that women did things that were mostly occupied by men for their time, but they were the exception, not the norm. Feminism was trying to expand that range.

The alternative post credits of the second film:
G.U.N was inspecting the wreckage of what was left of the Death Egg. Little did they know that Agent Stone was disguised as one of them. The screen fades to black.
LaterâŠ
The door of an unknown dimly lit room opened. Agent Stone walked in.
âDoctor,â he spoke, âYou are suspected dead.â
The figure not too far away replied,
âWonderful!â
It was of course, Eggman. He motioned for Stone to come over. With no hesitation Stone walked up until he was at Eggmanâs side. The two men were standing in front of something. Something mechanical.
âIs this your next creation, Doctor?â
âNot bad, Stone. Not bad.â
The audienceâs point of view slowly shows more of the mechanical something. It was still clearly in a stage of work in progress, but it was already starting to resemble a certain hedgehog. The mechanical creature and the audience were now face to face. After zooming closer to where the eyes are supposed to be, a light of vibrant red orange lit.
The scene changes into a remote forest. Zooming out until the back of a short girl with pink âhairâ appears on the screen.
The next story of the SCU starts with the third film.
âââââ-
Since a lot of elements from the classic era was featured in the second film, it wouldâve made perfect sense to continue that. Inspiration from Sonic CD wouldâve been a great choice, and imo itâs possible Tails, Knuckles, and even Tom can still be included (and relevant) despite Tails and Knuckles not making appearances in the original game.
I think I feel the same way as many others with the lack of Amyâs appearance in the first trailer of the third movie⊠I donât blame any of the characters for Amyâs exclusion. I blame the writers and those in charge of these projects. Amy has always had a rough go, especially in the West. Heck the west isnât the only one doing a disservice to her. Remember when Chris stole her moment in Sonic X? Or how about the OVA where at that part in time Amy already existed but wasnât included yet Knuckles was included; not blaming on Knuckles, I actually did like he was there, Iâm just pointing out why Amy wasnât there? Like was there âonly room for just one girlâ? What was the OVAâs reason?
I will admit, I honestly like Team Sonic and I think it can work BUT ONLY IF the others (Amy, Rouge, the Chaotix, etc.) get as much spotlight/screen time. I feel this is one of the reasons why I enjoyed Sonic Heroes and Team Sonic Racing.
Alas, I feel like taking a break from Sonic. I wasnât that interested with much released this year like I was the previous one, and my interests have been shifting⊠I think my mood towards the franchise recently isnât anger and frustration, itâs⊠disappointment.

Lately Iâve been wondering what a relationship or maybe even a friendship would be like between Angie and Holly?
My thoughts on Angie here. As for Holly, I liked her, it was nice that she subverted the expectation of a pretty popular girl and she wanted to be friends with both boys(Greg and Rowley). I sorta wished we couldâve seen more of her friendship with Rowley, the exploration of a dating relationship such as its ups and challenges between her and Greg, and just more of who Holly is as a person. Too bad Jeff Kinney(the author) didnât publish a book about her.
Holly is friends with Patty who doesnât seem to have got along well with Angie. She(Holly) seems to be open and kind enough to be friends with someone very unpopular(ex. Greg), so maybe Holly disagrees with Patty and is instead interested. Angie might be skeptical towards Holly because she is expected to have the qualities of what Angie dislikes. Perhaps something can bring them closer and as time passes, Holly proves Angieâs expectations wrong.
In most stories, a girl like Angie(an outcast) is bullied or being challenged against a girl like Holly(the popular one). It be a good subversion for them to become real friends and turn into better people because of it.
âââââ-
P.S.: Probably by the time they meet, both girls already have the mutual friendships with Greg and Rowley, so they might be less antagonistic to one another?

About Patty FerrellâŠ

She doesnât do too much in the books(it makes sense though since it only shows Gregâs POV) but I really like what the writers did with her in the movies. Patty is an ultimate brat and doesnât treat Greg well but she kinda has valid reasons to dislike him; Greg made fun of her during grade school and didnât feel bad about it one bit when they entered middle school and is generally unlikable as a person(especially in the first film). When she wins against Greg it feels satisfying. Their dynamic is very realistic, especially in elementary and middle school. I think itâs a fun subversion to watch when both the main protagonist and antagonist donât foil but more like mirror each other. That doesnât happen as much, especially in kidsâ films.
The way I see it, sheâs the main female lead of the first film. I think itâs an interesting subversion that the character with that role isnât an ally or becomes friends with the MC like we usually see.

Cute drawing! I liked how Rowley was interested in talking to her and them interacting one on one(after the falling out with Greg) was a nice detail. Both are also unapologetically themselves.
I drew Rowley x Angie because theyâre such a cute ship

OK, I have some thoughts about AngieâŠ

It feels like her reception is polarizing; sheâs the most pointless and poorly handled character OR sheâs badass and the best character of the entire series. I heard her inclusion is so Greg doesnât just interact with boys, but what about Patty? He did interact with a few other girls who werenât that major, so that reason falls flat. If anything, she interacts more with Rowley than she does with Greg; her relationship with the latter is almost nonexistent. Sure she becomes friends with both boys at the very end of the movie but for the most part she just pops up throughout the movie.
This isnât directly towards Angie herself, but Iâve seen comments saying sheâs the one who steers Greg in the right direction(really? I believe it was the piling of Gregâs bad decisions, fighting with Rowley then stepping up after the cheese incident. Greg did it himself), questioning why she wasnât in the sequels, and that she was replaced by Holly who is lesser than. The third one kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Angie is not from the source material(books), sheâs an adaptation exclusive. Holly didnât replace her, in fact Hollyâs book debut was in Rodrick Rules or The Last Straw which were published in 2008 and 2009. The movie which was Angieâs debut came in 2010. If you just watched the movies and not read the books at all then I can see why people would think that.
I donât hate Angie, sheâs alright but I feel the movie wouldâve been fine without her too. I feel she did have potential though.

After revisiting the DOAWK franchise, I got the chance to watch this movie:

After watching it⊠well itâs not a favorite and I can see where the haters are coming from. IMO itâs not good but it does feel like it gets more heat than it really deserved. Would I prefer any of the previous three films over this one? Definitely!
What bums me out about this is that I feel like if the Long Haul was taken in a different direction, maybe even with the cast we got, it mightâve gotten better reception. The film shows the road trip was Susanâs idea, and I think they were trying is to develop the relationship between her and Greg. Kinda in a similar fashion like Greg did in the previous three (first Rowley, second Rodrick, third Frank). It needed some different writing. Instead of a reboot of the live action universe, just make it a completely different AU separate from the original trilogy.
