   Her body tenses against the couch, despite her trying her hardest to put her body and mind at ease, it just wasn't something she was capable of at the moment. It was obvious that learning about the gene being activated since the day she was born had deterred her to some degree, but it wasn't enough to visibly break her. Yes, inside she was like a glass figurine and he had come along with a sledge hammer and whacked her on the head, causing her to shatter into a trillion pieces, but on the outside she tried to look as tough as she did when she walked trough his door, the only thing different was the unshed tears ghosting over her eyes.    Her reflexes are quick, not bothering to send him a glance as she holds her hand out and catches the flattened granola bar with is. Only after it's been her hand for a moment that had grown too silent, she looks from the spot on her shoes her eyes had glued themselves to, to the mixture of grain, nut and chocolate in her hand. Momentarily she wondered if this was all he eat majority of the time, or cooked those rats he talked about and ate them for dinner. ❝What, uh, what should I call you by?❞ Another need of Hayley's, being able to place a name to a face, whether it was their birth given name or a slightly offensive nickname she had given them. ❝      If you tell me to call you something stupid like 'The Guardian' or 'The Protecter', I will seriously shove this down your throat.❞ She waves the food in her hand for emphasis before opening it slowly, afraid that dozens of bugs would crawl out and travel onto her hand.

         He once had a thirst for knowledge, just like her, but what he found had ruined it for him, taken it away lest his bones corrupt more. He watched her move and complain with idle eye. Though his merely his eyes were showing his attention to her as his hands worked to remove the shoulder holsters as well as the arms they carried. It was clearly a practised task. Her complaints about his living made his head spin to take in more than her sitting. Made him wonder how she lived, and what she considered acceptable. As a man dishonoured he deemed this just fine. Though that spring really did cause him one or two sleepless nights. ❝If you don’t count in the rats, no.❞ Placing the two heavy duty Steyr arms on the table before him he reached into the back pocket of his jeans to pull out a colourful package, a definite five course meal. Unfortunately feeding her too was part of his job. It was a bit squished, as he’d forgotten it there moments after placement, but it was still digestible. He took the few steps around the table to her side and passed it to her with a single handed throw, uncaring for whether or not she caught it or even paid attention. ❝Dinner. Hope you had a fat breakfast.❞

thinking about ur otps napping is SO IMPORTANT. Does one protectively shush anyone who comes near their sleeping partner. Does one come home to find the other sleeping on the floor under a table or curled in a corner. Does the partner wake them up and move them to some place more comfortable or do they roll their eyes and cover them with a blanket whatever weird place they are. Do their roommates come home to find them both tangled in impossible positions and marvel at how they are somehow asleep. Who gets really emotional the first time they fall asleep together.
