a little sad that i've finished this - i wasn't ready to come up for air yet!
The pattern is Copritavalo, knit in crochet cotton, and painted with dye-na-flow. Roughly 5' across.

I'm so stuck on all my current knitting projects. I need to sit down and put my shoulder to the wheel.

I am especially pleased with how the bright one came out!
I have ONE piece left in the Pile Of Lace that will fit on the 4'x4' pad. (The thing on the needles currently will maybe fit, but i've probably got another week before it's ready.)
so, since my borthday is about a month out, i decided to get myself my present early: I ordered PVC pipes and connectors to build a larger, not-covered-in-nails frame, so i can work on some of the larger pieces. (I've been kvetching about building a second frame for over a year now, so i guess it's time?)
Also a yarn winder. I have reconsidered my stance on them ('nifty but unnecessary') because winding 1600 yards of laceweight the other morning made my wrist click, and i have three more hanks to wind.
It'll be a race - can i finish the piece on the needles before the stuff for the new frame arrives?

Started the last section of the overlay skirt for a dress. I'm at 1680 stitches per row, 33 rows left - I am quite positive to be able to finish it in time for a wedding in May. It's exciting to knit as I'm mashing up two different tablecloth patterns now, Blütenstrahlen and Pfingstrosen by Herbert Niebling.
The yarn is handdyed by me especially for this project.

I'm working on a fun new pattern using a fabric that's made of i-cords.

I've made a full sample so far out of Knit Collage yarn Left over from a class that I did with them. I love their funky, chunky art yarns, but struggled for years to figure out an accessory design that works with them.

The issue with using really thick yarn is yardage. Any stitch that you do is going to eat up a ton of yarn. With luxury yarns like knit collage, my goal is always to design projects that really optimize the yardage available.

The second sample I'm working on uses a bunch of koigu yarn that I stashed from a goodie bag that was given out at the Vogue Knitting Live cocktail party a few years ago. They gave out 25 random colors of 10m mini-skeins. A while ago, I wound them onto bobbins for an intarsia project - you may have seen it on here - but the fade was so subtle that you couldn't see the color work.

Each bobbin is a single row of the mesh. I decided to start at the gray solid color, it'll provide a nice stable edge with a whole lot of color in the middle.

I hope this project looks good with the fading colors, there are a few rough spots in the gradient that I hope stand out in a good way, as a contrast against the multicolor tones.

*dusts this blog off*
The world is on fire, but I will still make nice things for the people I care about because we must still have our small moments of joy.

My two most recent crochet projects - I’m very proud of these, particularly the one on the left (which took so much planning and trial and error), because they're my own designs!
I'm most of the way through writing a pattern for that one, but I have stalled out on finishing it unfortunately :/ - maybe someday

Went to swatch for a Hanukkah present before realizing the needles I needed were held up in this Doily 14 (Yarn | Pattern). That's been this close to being finished for a good three weeks now.
It does give me more time to think about what exactly I want to do for this gift but ughhhh I have to Count to 9. Over and Over again. Crochet chain bind offs look so good and are really stretchy for lace but my brain hates them with a passion.

Lacey gloves! These were a quick side project while I have been busy traveling, hosting friends and stuff.
I sourced the pattern from a collection called Free Vintage Crochet (number #284). The pattern was published in 1935, however I intend to wear mine with my 1900s lingerie dress ensemble (which I made two years ago, these things get completed slowly!). They're not perfect but certainly better than my first two attempts, and they're pretty and dainty and ready to be ruined by the outdoors.

Well I joined sock madness this year

This pattern is called conjoined twins. You knit the socks toe to cuff to cuff to toe then you cut them apart at the end. Amazing!

I finished it

I actually flipping finished it
This is the Corvus Scarf by Alasdair Post-Quinn / fallingblox designs and my first ever double knit project i ever did. I. Hecking. Love it. So much.
This HAS to be in my top three things i ever made. Its just such a gorgeous design and was extremely fun to work on.
I started this project over a year ago, when i was still pretty new to knitting, then put it aside and forgot about it until a few weeks ago. It was pretty fun to see how much easier it was for me to pick this back up again than back when i first started it.
Anyway. Someone stop me from jumping right into the next huge project head first. Please - this is a call for help /j
