Also when did the Wiggles get a female member? And a whole bunch of new members, I'm so confused
Okay you didn’t asked for this but here comes a mini Wiggles lineup history lesson (bc I love the OGs too much haha)
1991: The real OG Wiggles consisted of 5 members: Greg Page, Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt, Anthony Field, and Phillip Wilcher. Greg (at the age of 19) was the youngest member, while Jeff (at the age of 38) was the oldest. Phillip Wilcher left the group in 1992
[This is one of my favorite pics of them: The Wiggles with the Irwins!]
1993 - 2006: The OG Wiggles that most people (including me) love and remember: Greg the Yellow Wiggle, Murray the Red Wiggle, Jeff the Purple Wiggle, and Anthony the Blue Wiggle
2006 - 2012: Greg was diagonsed with orthostatic intolerance, so he retired to focus on his health. Sam Moran replaced Greg as the Yellow Wiggle
2012: Sam Moran left The Wiggles, and Greg was asked back to be the Yellow Wiggle until August 2012. There was controversy during this time because of how the announcement of Sam Moran’s depature was mishandled. Later it was announced that Greg will stay with The Wiggles until the end of 2012 so that he could retire alongside Murray and Jeff. Murray wanted to retire to spend more time with his family, while Jeff wanted to focus on his health (he developed arrhythmia in 2011 and had to miss the US tour, after never missing a show for 20 years)
2013 - Present: The New Wiggles are Emma Watkins as the Yellow Wiggle, Simon Pryce as the Red Wiggle, and Lachy Gillespie as Purple Wiggle. Anthony is still the Blue Wiggle. Emma and Lachy married in 2016 and divorced in 2018
In 2020, Lachy remarried and recently has twins, so he is taking some time off from the group. Thus, Jeff is temporarily back as the Purple Wiggle
Other things I would like to mention:
Paul Paddick (who has played Captain Feathersword since almost the beginning of the group’s formation) is still with the group
There were also localizations of The Wiggles such as The Taiwanese Wiggles and The Latin American Wiggles during the early 2000s
