Yeah 1000% agree with all of this. If only the writers wrote it that way as them just picking things with no context. The fact they build a whole model and know the people involved etc, they had to have learned something. But also to your point of Gene's philosophy "all in the past" that is so true. i've been trying to get better at bird ID-ing and so in order to do that, I've been watching birder youtubes and then googling the birds they find for more examples. Well, today, they found a savannah sparrow. And so as I usually do, I entered it into the duck duck go image search, hit go, and then turned around to put some dishes away.
