Time ago I got a plan to make a comic out of my favourite Berserk fanfic I read on fanfiction.net (link here, written by wonderful @plaiddoodles here on tumblr). So, here’s the beginning of the first chapter, the rest (starring Guts & Casca) is to come (when I manage to get to it :’) )

Few coloured panels. I rarely do compilations, but they have a common theme I wanted to gush about, and it’s how in a pinch you can be sure to see Judeau coming (or trying to come) to Casca’s rescue.

Him trying to save her at the Eclipse is basically an iconic moment now, so I’ll spare you that essay, but it gives me feels that after she and Guts fell off that cliff, the one leading a rescue party was of course Judeau (and I could bet he was first to volunteer when Griffith was dispatching a team to retrieve them).

And there’s even more: in the Wyald fight he took charge when trying to distract the Apostle from attacking her, in the Silat fight you could see him and Pippin rushing to her aid when she was down (and the movies even added a cool moment when he intercepts Silat’s chakram with his knife), up to even smaller moments like when he was stopping her from endangering herself by trying to go to Griffith during Zodd fight.

The list doesn’t even mention the out-of-battle instances where he showed care for Casca, like trying to cheer her after they returned to camp post-hundred-man-slaying incident and caring for her during the year the Band was fugitives after Griffith’s imprisonment.

And the fact that currently she can’t even remember him without it triggering her trauma is a heartbreaking thing.
