Umisabaku’s 1500 “What to Write Next” Giveaway!!
Woo! Recently I hit the 1500 follower mark, which was very exciting, so thank you so much to everyone who follows me on this blog!! And I thought it would be a good opportunity to do another Writing Giveaway!!
Especially since it more or less corresponded with finishing up my INCREDIBLY LONG PROJECT and I think I’d like to do a shorter-medium sized project before diving into finishing up this other really long project I’d like to finish. So! A long the same vein as the “Will You Ever Write” Giveaway, this Giveaway theme is, “What To Write Next” Giveaway, which is more or the less the same thing as the Will You Ever Write one. One lucky winner will get to choose what I write next! Options include:
Next Haikyuu Shapeshifters story
KagaKuro fairy tale
Expansion of a Prison AU story, I guess?
Maybe expansion of Company of Wolves?
Some other expansion of any random tumblr short AU that you’d like to see a longer version of?
SOMETHING ELSE???
I mean, I’m hoping you can help me out with what you think there should be more of (that’s not Designation: Miracle, because there’s a whole lot of that coming) but if you really want me to write a different fic/AU altogether, that’s definitely something I am open to suggestions about!
SO: one reblog and one like counts as an entry each for a total of two entries (I realized that limiting the number of reblogs actually makes it easier to do a random generator, that’s the only reason for the limitation), one grand prize winner can determine what story I write next that will be 5K minimum but quite possibly longer, knowing me. Two runner-ups will be selected for a short 500 word prompt of their choosing.
This closes on November 11 and I will be contacting people on November 12 (2018, just so people know this post is current =P)
As a shameless reminder, I am always doing this giveaway, in case anyone wants to take part in that giveaway.
AND THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE who follows me on this blog of so many anime reblogs and occasional writing. It means a lot to me!!

Book Reviews by my Dad
For Father’s Day, I asked my dad to write some reviews for books we’ve both read and he came through so beautifully everyone needs to read these
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien:
Epic. It is not cool not to like The Lord of the Rings.
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin:
As epic as The Lord of the Rings. It is not cool not to like Game of Thrones.
The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling:
My daughters grew up with Harry, Ron and Hermione…
…But, of all the other characters in the book, Arthur Weasley is the man…and, definitely, the Dad.
What was Harry thinking that he didn’t name any of his kids after him?
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer:
Creative! … and fun. Cinderella’s cinder is grease and Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. Makes perfect sense.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater:
What is there not to love about the Raven Boys and the idea of ley lines being a bridge between spiritualism and magic and science? Also, I like the way things are described in there:
“The voice was careful, masculine and local; the vowels had all the edges sanded off…..”
“…there was something pregnant about the night…”
Maggie Stiefvater is the fairest of them all.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer:
While I was reading it, it seemed ok.
It is like cheap whisky… you wake up promising to never do that again.

Imagine your OTP

Translation: Did you know?
In Middle Ages, kissing (on the mouth) wasn’t reserved to lovers.
When two enemies made peace, they would share a big one (kiss)!
I found this in my little sister’s book about knights but IMAGINE ALL THE AU

classic lit authors on ao3
Jane Austen: The slowburn writer to end all slowburn writers. Has a mild case of purple prose syndrome. Sets you up to think she's using a really lame trope or cliche, but then pulls the old BITCH U THOUGHT. Gets in fights with commenters who completely miss the point of her work.
William Shakespeare: Where dick jokes meet feels. Recycles old plots that have been in the fandom for years, but always manages to put a new spin on it. That said, he's better known for good character writing than good plots. Kind of problematic, but people love him anyway. Laughs at and encourages commenters who completely miss the point of his work.
The Brontë Sisters: Their fics get lots of comments but they never reply. They never leave author notes, either. They share an account, and there are talks of a collab fic coming soon. Write fics for OTPs of questionable healthiness and consent. Only ever write darkfic. Like, REALLY dark. ...People are getting kind of worried about them.
Edgar Allan Poe: Also only ever writes darkfic, but at this point, people have moved past being worried about him and have just accepted that he's weird, he's morbid, and we love him. Channels his feelings about his ex into his writing. It results in really good stories but everyone's sort of like, "...Dude."
Charles Dickens: Trying to set the record for highest wordcount on ao3, and it shows.
Victor Hugo: Currently holds the record for highest wordcount on ao3.
Oscar Wilde: Only ever writes M/M. Has a BAD case of purple prose, but it's worth it if you manage to get through. His stories are either hilarious or soul-crushing. Or somehow both. People love him but know better than to disagree with him publicly, lest he destroy you with one of his infamous subtweets.
L. Frank Baum: Wrote one really well-loved story that's among the most famous in the fandom, and it's literally all he's known for, and it pisses him off. His popular story became a multichap against his will because it's the only one of his stories anyone actually reads. He keeps trying to end it so he can work on other things, but always ends up coming back.
Arthur Conan Doyle: Feels L. Frank Baum's pain. SO much.
James Joyce: Has fascinating ideas, but takes forEVER to get to the point in his stories. Also a stoner, and it shows.
Lousia May Alcott: Writes stories for her unpopular OTP (that's a NOTP for most of the fandom) and breaks up everyone's favorite ships, mainly out of spite. Also kills everyone's favorite characters, less so out of spite.
Mary Shelley: Writes incredible stories, but publishes under her boyfriend's account because she's banned from ao3. ...Again.

Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen : l’incontournable.
Much Ado About Nothing, William Shakespeare : ma comédie shakespearienne préférée.

Yuusaku: “I’m completely safe from being protag. Sure I have radical hair and can some reason surf on the wind, but I’m sure that’ll be commonplace soon enough. Still a normal character.”
Ignis: *Is partner*
Yuusaku: “Having a goofy sidekick does not make me a protagonist. Plenty of supporting characters and even minor characters have sidekicks.”
Ignis: *Can turn into a tentacle monster*
Yuusaku:
“…”
Yuusaku:
“Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaah, fuck. I’m the protagonist and I can already tell there’s going to be an ep where he turns on me and it goes full hentai on me”
